Dalian Zhongshan District Hotels

The two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family of three adults. The room itself was spacious, bright, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The service was incredibly thoughtful! The dining table, which also served as a desk, was very practical. Having a Siemens washer-dryer combo, microwave, and a full set of tableware made our stay incredibly convenient. With a supermarket just downstairs where we could easily pick up laundry detergent, doing laundry daily was a breeze. The hotel's amenities, including the swimming pool, billiards room, and gym, were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the delicious Japanese cuisine at the restaurant. The subway station is conveniently located right outside to the right, and a ten-minute walk straight ahead takes you to the scenic Donggang Fountain by the sea. Our few days of vacation here were truly relaxing and enjoyable. Dalian is a truly wonderful city, and the Donggang area is particularly pleasant. We'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit. Thank you!

Novotel will be my top choice next time I visit Dalian! Absolutely fantastic! This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my Dalian trip. For the first two days, unfamiliar with the city, I booked a highly-rated hotel online based on its location. To my dismay, it didn't even have blackout curtains, and I was woken up by sunlight shining on my bed past 5 AM. I decisively switched to Novotel, which, coincidentally, is located in the same building. I regret that Novotel wasn't a recommended option when I made my initial booking online. **Location:** Situated in the heart of Zhongshan District, it's near Dalian Times Square (luxury shopping) and very close to Zhongshan Square and the charming Nanshan Street. Its excellent location makes it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. A taxi to Xinghai Square only costs around 10-20 RMB. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and leisure options in the vicinity. **Ambiance:** The hotel boasts a 'light luxury' design, which feels very comfortable and inviting. It's impeccably clean, fresh, and hygienic, with a complimentary fruit platter provided daily. **Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and include everything you'd expect. There's both a laundry room and a well-equipped gym. The on-site restaurant also serves a delicious breakfast! **Service:** The service is exceptionally warm and friendly, truly making you feel at home. The staff are polite and greet you every time they see you. Even the cleaning staff proactively offer a greeting with a smile. The only minor drawback is that it shares elevators with several other hotels, and there's no key card required to access floors directly, which could be a slight security concern.

The hotel clearly had a nice renovation at some point, and the rooms are very spacious. The sofa was a comfortable spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. A heated towel rail in the bathroom was a thoughtful touch, making it easy to dry clothes during our trip. However, the hotel itself feels quite dated. The lighting was dim, the air conditioning had an unpleasant odor, and the curtains were torn. On a positive note, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. We had originally booked a twin room, but upon arrival, we found its window faced a wall of noisy air conditioning units from the adjacent building. When we informed the front desk, they were very accommodating; they came up to our floor and switched us to a king room without us having to go downstairs. Breakfast was also quite good. The hotel's location is superb, with many restaurants nearby, and it's within walking distance of Zhongshan Square. Taxis to any destination were also reasonably priced.

An absolutely perfect stay. The InterContinental Dalian boasts luxurious, elegant, and grand facilities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and inviting, offering breathtaking views of the East Port shipyard and the ocean. Its prime downtown location provides incredibly convenient access to subway and bus lines, and taxi rides around the city are also very affordable. It's just a short walk to the historic century-old buildings around Zhongshan Square. Check-in was a breeze, and the service was attentive and incredibly warm. A special thank you to DANA at the front desk for her excellent service. I also appreciate the doormen who always helped me with my bags from the taxi. Finally, kudos to the F&B department for the thoughtful gesture of delivering red date and pear soup to my room in the evening, which was a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. Dalian truly is a fantastic city!

Highly Recommended (Genuine review, written while waiting for my flight). 1. It's affordable, and the soundproofing is decent. 2. The location is absolutely fantastic – just 10 meters straight out of the subway exit! About 100 meters away is a Dalian Supermarket, which I highly recommend for a casual browse; it's incredibly convenient for picking up fresh milk, popular local smoked meat patties, chicken frame noodles, and more. Wuxian Xia Xiang (a restaurant) is also a delicious recommendation, only 300 meters away. Plus, there are three or four shopping malls within 500 meters, all easily reachable on foot. 3. The room comes with a mini-fridge, perfect for keeping drinks cold. The staff member was incredibly kind; when I mentioned I needed more water to take out, she generously gave me 6 bottles right away! The only minor drawback is that the laundry room is quite cramped (though you can ignore this if you don't plan on using it). 4. Dalian's weather is truly unbeatable – I really don't want to leave!

📍 Location, location, location This hotel is in a prime spot, about 3 miles from some of Dalian’s top attractions like Xinghai Square, Venice Water City, and Dalian Castle 🏰. Super convenient whether you’re sightseeing or just exploring the city. 😴 Best sleep I’ve had in ages Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I slept so well. I got almost 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep, the room was quiet, perfectly cool, and the blackout curtains made the room completely dark, which I loved. Also, they offer an a la carte menu and even late-night service, which is super handy if you’re up late or get in hungry. 🧖♂️ Highly recommend the sauna + massage combo One of the highlights of my stay: hit the sauna for about 20 minutes, then followed it up with a relaxing massage right there in the hotel. Total game changer 💯 I left feeling completely recharged. 🏊♂️ as for the pool, I tried to go around three times… but it seems that the hotel rent it to swimming classes for kids?? So it was always full of kids which it’s fine but consider it if as myself this amenity was crucial for me to book the hotel 🍳 Breakfast could be better This is where things fell a bit short. The breakfast area is… kind of random? It’s in a hallway on the second floor, and the setup felt temporary. Not much variety, and there are no small tables, just big shared ones for about 10 people. A little awkward if you’re alone or just want a quiet breakfast. (I’ll include a pic) 📦 Heads-up on delivery If you order food delivery, you’ll need to go downstairs to pick it up yourself — they don’t bring it up to your room. ✅ Final thoughts Aside from those couple of things and the pool, my experience was honestly fantastic. The hotel was old, so the overall facilities were old, but the bed was very good and the bedding was good. The bathroom was a little uncomfortable because the shower was attached to the wall. I don't know because I didn't use the hotel breakfast, but there were many local restaurants nearby, so it wasn't too inconvenient. There was a local market near Sanba Square, so it was good to buy and eat fruits.

The location is very convenient and within walking distance of many tourist attractions and food streets. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We got a free plate of fruits on our first day, and when we checked out, we were given a little goodie bag full of snacks. The water pressure of the shower head is heavenly. It's the best shower head I have ever used in my entire life. It's amazing!!!!

From the moment I arrived, I felt an immediate sense of comfort and peace, as if a gentle warmth permeated my being. A subtle, pleasant fragrance wafted through the air, and the absolute silence felt dream-like. The bed was incredibly soft, like sleeping on a cloud, and the duvet was wonderfully light. I drifted off to sleep almost instantly and enjoyed a deep, undisturbed rest until the early hours. There were no barking dogs or harsh lights to interrupt my slumber. I had a profoundly peaceful night, waking up completely refreshed, as if transported to another realm of tranquility. The room was meticulously tidy, with everything neatly arranged. All the day's dust and fatigue simply melted away, leaving me completely rejuvenated. Outside the window, there was a gentle hum of street life, hinting at a bustling area nearby. Just a few steps downstairs, I found an incredible array of street food stalls. The air was filled with delicious aromas from charcoal grills, and the food was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. From golden fried pancakes resembling sunsets to glistening candied haw, and perfectly grilled squid with a delightful sweet and spicy kick, it was a true culinary treat. Even as night fell, the area remained lively with many people enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. I also loved the convenience of public transportation right on the doorstep, offering easy access to explore widely, whether I wanted to visit distant attractions or simply head to the seaside. This proximity to transport truly made exploring the city effortless. What truly stood out was the exceptional staff, especially the front desk personnel. They were incredibly welcoming and warm, always ready with a gentle smile and a helpful word. My questions were answered quickly and efficiently, and they made me feel so genuinely cared for, as if we were old friends. Their kindness and genuine hospitality truly made this place feel like home. The room was well-equipped with modern amenities. The air conditioning was effective and easy to use, and there were plenty of TV channels to choose from. I appreciated the pleasant wall art and the convenient bedside lamp. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, allowing me to browse the web effortlessly without any lag. But what truly amazed me was the price – this place offers incredible value for money, something truly rare to find in the city. For a similar price, it would be hard to find another place that combines such refinement with peaceful comfort. It’s not flashy, but it’s tastefully done and genuinely peaceful. I honestly wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself; a single night here felt like a dream. I had initially planned only a short stay, but by the time I left, I felt a deep reluctance to depart. Even after I was gone, my thoughts kept returning to this wonderful place, and I found myself dreaming of that comfortable bed. If anyone asks me where this hidden gem is, I'd almost be hesitant to share, lest I disturb its serene magic. Suffice it to say, it felt like a bed among the clouds, offering a night that truly transcended the ordinary. To sum it all up: beautiful surroundings, pleasant weather, delicious and diverse local cuisine with unique flavors, and truly exceptional service. I'd particularly like to commend 'Xiao Wang' for their outstanding attitude and helpfulness. I've written so much because this place truly deserves all the praise. I highly recommend staying here!
