Colombo National Museum
LLaowai on the LooseIf you want to learn about the history of Sri Lanka this is a great place to start. The museum shows pre-historic finds and the earliest civilization of Sri Lanka as well as the Colonial era and the history or resistance to those colonial powers. As a history teacher I really enjoyed the museum.

Mount Lavinia Beach
DDEAR张小球I saw Monte Lavinia Beach when I was riding the sea train. I thought it was very beautiful, so I found time to come and see it. The water on the beach is very clean, the sand is soft and clean, and the scenery is quite good. It is worth recommending.
Geoffrey Bawa's Residence
IInvisible WindThe 33rd Street home is the test site of the building in Bava. 33rd Street is on the outskirts of Colombo, a branch of Bagatelle Road. In 1959, the second year after returning from London, Bava rented a third of the buildings and converted them into small temporary apartments with bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, kitchens and maids. Two years later, he managed to drive away the fourth original tenant, adding formal dining and studios to his home. In 1968, Bawa took down the remaining two buildings and launched a comprehensive renovation project: first opened the second and three buildings to expand the master bedroom space and build the guest room. The first building was demolished and a four-story tower was built. The ground floor was a garage, the second floor was a study, and the third floor was a veranda, which could be used to the rooftop platform. The original branch of 33rd Street was transformed into an entrance corridor, the interior was painted white, and a series of small patios dotted with soft light. The promenade connects large and small living spaces in series, and at the end of the axis is a tall lush Suxin tree in the back garden. Every object and every piece of furniture in the house, new and old, is related to real life experience, allowing the modern interior of Bavasubai to re-own the friendly atmosphere of the 19th century colonial manor rooms.
Independence Square
KkhccIt takes about 10 minutes to walk from the museum. This is a large square. It is said that it was the place where independence celebrations were held. It has good greening and is very suitable. Take a walk here at dusk.
