The room is not big and the induction cooker is slow. It is an old wooden house. There is an electric heater to heat the hot water for bathing. There will be insufficient hot water. It is fine to stay for one night temporarily. It is not recommended as a hotel to enjoy the journey.

Was perfect for a clean, no-frills stay. Spacious tripple room in hotel part (not separate cabin. Everything was clean and there was friendly staff. Restaurant was good with regular Iceland prices. Located on a working farm with sheep and building equipment around.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel ! The rooms, service, food, all were the best and truly added to our Iceland trip . Our cottage had a lake view and extended seating area. The furnishings were tasteful and so comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and had a HUGE shower. Loved the porch area outside the sliding glass doors. It was bit chilly to sit outside for more than a few minutes but we had a lovely view from the seating area inside our room. We stayed for 2 nights and had a fantastic dinner at the hotel each night ! But what standouts most of all is the caring service we received while there (and after we left the hotel) The hotel manager went above and beyond to help us out and return to us something very important we had mistakenly left behind in our room. We were just blown away by the care and concern they/he demonstrated to us. We are so grateful. Highly recommend the Magma Hotel to anyone visiting South Iceland . You can find nothing better.

Stayed for one night on our Ring Road Road Trip. Very warm welcome from Reception and given room 112 which was modern and comfortable. We took advantage of happy hour and the staff put on a documentary film about the wonders of Iceland while we enjoyed our drinks. Had dinner in the restauarant with good food and service. Breakfast was equally good in all respects. Very good stay with comfortable sleep.

We were a family of 8 - three adults stayed in one cabin and the family of 5 (with 3 children 10-15 years), in another. The cabins were convenient because they had enough sleeping areas for everyone and had kitchens so we didn't have to eat out for every meal. Food in Iceland is extremely expensive!! Things that could be improved - reception/office hours weren't convenient given that the guesthouse is a bit of a distance from the important tourist sites in the area so we tended to leave before the office was open or return after it had closed. One cabin had an issue with the faucet in the shower not being clearly marked and thus it was challenging to get anything other than scalding water - but it wasn't until nearly the last day that we were able to get to the office to ask for help. The curtains are symbolic at best - during the summer you'll need eye masks since it never gets dark. One of the cabins had a mirror in the 'living room' which was very convenient so we didn't all need to use the bathroom mirror when trying to get ready for the day. It would be great if this was standard in all the cabins. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this guesthouse to others.
