Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago West Loop Fulton Market Area

We stayed for the weekend and were not disappointed. I’m one of those people that do tons of research before choosing a hotel. This one is priced well and is so cozy and welcoming. We stayed in one of the city view rooms which I would totally recommend. The night before I got a notification on the Hilton app saying it’s time to choose my room and I was able to choose a corner room with a view of the city on both sides and it was quite large. Being able to choose your room and know which one you’ll be in when you arrive is great. This hotel is in a great spot and only a few minute walk to an L train station for all of your transportation needs. The neighborhood is pretty quiet from what I saw. We loved the full size pump bottles in the bathroom of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. The front desk staff was always welcoming and answered any questions I had. I would recommend the skyline room. We stayed in room 1815 and had a great view of the city. The only downsides were that the windows were quite dirty and the parking garage was tiny but I understand those aren’t necessarily problems that can be fixed easily. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Chicago.
Heart O' Chicago Motel

This place is better than the typical big city motel/motor hotel, it is older but not worn. It was clean, no smells and no bugs. Hot water pressure was good, and individually-controlled central air conditioning worked well. The room had a table with 2 chairs, a separate small desk with chair, and the room and bathroom were plenty big not cramped. Despite being on a main street, it was quiet other than the occasional siren, and there was no noise from rooms next door or other guests outside. It was under $100/night with free parking, a bargain for Chicago. The CTA Red Line train is a 15-minute walk away, and we always felt safe in this neighborhood. There is a Starbucks and White Castle Hamburgers down the block. A downside is that there is no online reservation system, you must call. You get no email confirmation, just a credit card receipt upon payment, which is required at check-in, along with a $5 room key deposit. It is a basic room: no coffeemaker, frig or microwave oven, but there is cable TV. There is no Continental Breakfast, although it is listed on their website and on a sign on their building. The room has a standard double bed (not King or Queen), so may be too narrow or short for some couples, and it is a bit uncomfortable but tolerable. There is no elevator, but 50% of the rooms are on the ground level. If you want to charge your cellphone on the nightstand bring an extension cord, as the only outlets are on the side walls. This motel is just fine for a short stay in Chicago, as long as your expectations aren’t too high and all you want is a clean and convenient location.

Streeterville
Great location. Walkable to all types of restaurants. Staff was so nice and helpful.. particularly when it looked like one of us Would fall victim to the railroad strike and needed to stay extra days. Breakfast was varied and fine. Would definitely stay again.

I loved this hotel. Check-in was quick and easy. This charming place was located close to the medical center where I had an appointment the next day. I loved the artwork and character of this place. My room had everything I needed. I slept like a baby. The TV was humongous! The elevator felt sturdy and secure. The favorite thing to me was the lights down the hall from my room. How gorgeous! What a beautiful surprise. I will definitely choose place again! Thank you for an excellent stay.
Chicago Getaway Hostel

Lincoln Park
I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at the hostel. It's in a beautiful street. Lincoln Park is such a lovely area, I wish I had more time to explore it. Tree-lined streets, great shopping and food options on Clark Street and close proximity to Lincoln Park and the beach. Also close to the subway to head into downtown Chicago. It's the nicest hostel I have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, large reception area and sitting room. Huge kitchen and fridges and free laundry which I took advantage of. If you're looking for a social hostel to meet people it didn't give me that sort of vibe, which was fine for me because I was out most of the day. There didn't seem to be any events on and everyone in the common area just seemed to be on their phone and keeping themselves to themselves, which again was totally fine for me. I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. The room was a great size with air-con, a table and chair and a bunk bed (single on top, double on bottom). The mattress was ok. The bunk beds were not great, a bit wobbly ( I wouldn't like to have had to climb to the top bunk), but it was fine and I had good sleep each night. The room was fresh and clean. I stayed 6 nights and it wasn't cleaned whilst I was there. With it being a hostel I'm not sure how this works? I emptied my own trash, asked for new towels and bedding which was fine but I would have liked it to be cleaned during my stay, not a big deal though considering the price, the fact its a hostel and generally how lovely it was. The shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean. There were four showers in the one closest to me. The staff were mostly friendly. One staff member was a bit rude when I queried the wifi, turned his back away and clearly did not want to engage (maybe he was having a bad day?) I just felt a bit awkward and like I was troubling him.. And the wifi was the only real negative. I struggled to get connected in my room throughout my stay and had to purchase data add ons which was an extra expense. Overall though, I would return. Brilliant set up and a gorgeous area.
