Lovely hotel and great location however the room was disappointing for the price, one of the armchairs was badly damaged and the other brown stains on the material. Sections of wallpaper were peeling off which gave it a very tired appearance. The iron board was also broke and we had to prop it up on a chair. The room we booked looked nothing like the images on the advertisement and I had to check with reception we had the correct room. For £330 a night I don’t feel we had a premium room, the staff however were lovely and very welcoming.

great place and central for Chester only niggle was we had booked with breakfast but got charged for it because we upgraded to full english rather than continental and on the booking it just says breakfast

Great Hotel, with lovely rooms ( I tad dated for some tastes). Service was first class, with a lovely meal in the brasserie eaten. Breakfast is high standard with good old table service, the brasserie is a lovely room for meals. Wife had a massage in the spa, which was one of the best she had had! Car park near Hotel, cases taken to room, staff very friendly and more than happy to help. Location right in the middle of Chester for close access to shops, Bars and restaurants Only Negative, Breakfast could have been hotter. And added service charges to bill automatically. Drinks are very expensive, but to be expected for a 5 start Hotel

Excellent hotel with first class service and very tasty food.

The hotel exudes American luxury everywhere. The nearby town is very beautiful. We went out for a walk at 9pm. The street scene at night combined with the unique architectural style was incredible. We will come again.

This is a treasure hotel discovered during my trip to England. If you go to Chester, don’t miss this unique British scenery. A family of three stayed in two executive rooms, which were beautifully decorated and spotless, showing that the management level and service standards are unambiguous. Regardless of the hotel's location, facilities, guest rooms, catering and services, it is impeccable, first-class, and very cost-effective. It is the best choice in Chester. The beautiful old Chester, a low-key and luxurious British-style hotel, is deeply impressive and unforgettable, and I hope to return.

Breakfast, accommodation and transportation are all available

It is really a very old-school hotel with good public areas, exquisite doors, and nice doormen and front desk. It is said that the occupancy rate was very high in those days, and there was not much room to choose from. It was the outermost room on the second floor. It's still spacious, but the door is severely deformed and requires a lot of force to open and close. The mattress is on the soft side, but still OK. The biggest drawback is the bathroom. There are two separate hot and cold faucets in the washbasin, which is very inconvenient. The shower is in the bathtub, with only half of the partition. Water will splash everywhere when taking a shower. The towels are a bit old, thin and hard. The restaurant is also very popular. Breakfast is included in the room rate. Continental breakfast is included. If you want to upgrade to a freshly cooked British hot meal, you have to pay for it, which is more than 12 pounds. I made an appointment for a dinner. It weighed 127 pounds for two people. It was not very delicious. The medium steak was super tough. I suspected that I ordered the wrong one. If I encounter such a situation again in the future, I will have to argue. I will bear with it this time... The hotel is in a very good location, convenient to everywhere.
