Hotels in Huanglongxi town/Happy Pastoral Scenic Area, Chengdu

I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about. It may be because they have high standards. Anyway, I think everything is good, except that when the children in the family room were taking a nap, the waiter kept knocking on the door to serve tea and even tried to open the door directly to come in. In fact, our baby stroller was right at the door. The service in this aspect should be more meticulous, because we only took a half-hour nap. I hope it can be improved. The sanitary facilities, room pick-up services are all very good and I hope they can be maintained.

The hotel is located in a historically protected area and cars don't have access. We parked our car in a nearby car park and we were picked up by foot by someone from the hotel. Check in took a while, but I am not really sure what the hold up was. Guess they wanted to be thorough when it comes to visa permitting staying in their hotel. It felt like we were the only people in the hotel. It must be buzzing with people and noise during peak season. The walls are very thin and you can hear people talking inside the rooms. The hotel is very old and centrally located. The interior is really beautiful. Sadly I didn't have much time to enjoy the public rooms long enough. The personnel were nice, but a bit too nosy for my own taste. The hotel is located in the middle of an artificial lake. Breakfast was simple and ok. The room had a few faults with lightning and you can hear noise from outside easily, but still, yes I would go back, if I ever would stay again in this pretty Watertown 😊
