Hotels with Breakfast in George Town

I booked a bit late, and the only private room with a bathroom left was a bunk bed. However, it was perfect for a solo traveler; I could sleep on the bottom bunk and use the top for my belongings, even to hang some clothes. There was also plenty of space to open my suitcase flat. The location is super convenient, and breakfast is included – I tried three different kinds over three days, which was really impressive! I'll definitely stay here again next time.

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

My stay here was very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, close to all the attractions in the Old Town, making dining and shopping very convenient. I stayed in the Heritage Wing, which has historical artifacts on display in the common areas, perfect for a quick browse if you're interested. The staff were friendly and responsive, providing daily newspapers and updating the mini-bar. The breakfast is made-to-order, and while the selection isn't huge, it's served piping hot, which is a big plus. They also offer complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails. The only downside was a strange noise in the room at night, and the soundproofing between floors wasn't great. If that's a concern for you, perhaps try the new building; I haven't stayed there, so I can't comment.

The location is quite convenient. They upgraded me to a family room, even though I didn't really need it as I was traveling alone. What I don't understand is why the shower dispenser had lotion instead of conditioner; that needs improvement. Breakfast was very rich and there was plenty to eat: bread, noodles, chicken, fish, vegetables, fried rice, coffee, and juice.

Had a really pleasant stay here! First of all, I was impressed by the beautiful interior and overall design of the building. Everything was well maintained, clean, and welcoming right from the moment we arrived. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and the staff were friendly, well trained, and communicated very well. The room was spotless and comfortable, with a neatly made bed and, most importantly, a very clean bathroom. A special mention to the housekeeping team for doing such a great job. You can really see the effort and attention to detail they put into keeping the room clean and well maintained. The amenities provided were sufficient for a comfortable stay. I requested some additional drinking water, and the team kindly accommodated my request free of charge, which I really appreciated. I also brought my kids to the swimming pool the next day, and the pool was clean and well maintained. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Great cleanliness, friendly staff, good service, and well-maintained facilities. Thank you to the entire team, especially the housekeeping staff, for making our stay so pleasant. Would definitely be happy to come back again!

The hotel boasts a simple yet stylish design with complete facilities, including a pool bar. It's clean, and the service is attentive. The only minor downside is that the soundproofing isn't great, being right by a main road. Overall, it offers excellent value for money.

The front desk is on the 20th floor. The location is just okay; it's about a 15-minute walk to the livelier areas, which is acceptable. The price itself is very good, and the overall place is comfortable and clean, except for some stains on the sofa which might be hard to clean but don't look great. The swimming pool and gym on the 22nd floor are small but well-equipped, offering all the basic necessities for a relaxing time! The room is spacious, bright, and clean, with all the necessary amenities, including an iron to smooth out wrinkled clothes from your luggage. The shower has good hot water and strong pressure. The only minor complaint would be that the soundproofing isn't the best, but it's not terrible either, so it's within an acceptable range!

The hotel is located in the old city. The front desk and exterior are decent, but the room facilities are quite basic... I'd say it's on par with a 3-star hotel in China, or a standard budget chain like Home Inn. If the price is between 300-500, it's acceptable, but anything higher and you'll definitely be disappointed. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby within walking distance, so you don't need to include breakfast; there are many local specialties around.

The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was delicious and the dishes changed daily, which was a nice touch! 👍🏻 It's also close to Chew Jetty, and the food in Little India is great. It's a fantastic spot for those who prefer peace and quiet.

The room was really unique and interesting, an experience I'd never had before. The location is excellent too; you can walk to all the nearby photo-op spots, and the closest restaurants are all delicious. Walking to Clan Jetties is also no problem. The free bus stop is just across the street, which is super convenient. I highly recommend staying here for both the ambiance and location. The Indian staff members at the hotel were all very friendly and would greet us proactively. We arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, right after our flight. One of the staff members said we could check-in early at 1:30 PM, so we left our luggage at the front desk and went out for lunch, thinking we could come back, change, and head out for some sightseeing and photos. However, when we returned at the appointed time, a different female staff member told us we couldn't check in until 2:30 PM. I simply mentioned that I was previously told we could check in at 1:30 PM, and she immediately became upset, telling me not to pressure or rush her. To accommodate her mood, my family of three quietly sat with her in the lobby for half an hour. After that, she simply announced that it was time to check in, without having received any calls or anything – it was just the scheduled time. All the other staff members at this hotel were very enthusiastic, but she was always unhappy and gave us a cold shoulder whenever we saw her. I hope she can find some happiness. I understand that the official check-in time is 3 PM. I was just trying to discuss an earlier check-in. If I had been told from the start that early check-in wasn't possible, I would have taken a taxi to a more distant area to explore and returned later. Travel time is limited, and I want to plan my trips more efficiently, not waste time waiting in a hotel lobby to check in. I'm not here to accompany her at work, and I hope she can be more professional and consider the needs of travelers. I really hope other guests staying here don't encounter her; everything else was perfect.
