Outstanding
GGuest UserThis was my first and only stay at a ryokan so I don’t have much to compare it to. I chose this lodging because of the cats and good reviews on the food. The cats were really sweet and I enjoyed playing with them. I have 2 cats of my own so it was really nice. The food was so beautiful and delicious - the mushroom soup at dinner was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The private bath rooms were very convenient and open 24 hrs. I thought the facilities were clean and very pleasant. The location was very close to the central area and a quick walk to all the important sites including the bus station. The only comment I have was in the morning someone was smoking and the smell got ****** into the 2nd floor hallway so maybe more care should be taken to be sure the smoke stays outside. The host was so nice and sweet and I used google translate to ask questions. The matcha madeleines are so tasty I bought a box to take with me.
劉劉輝龍Japan's number one onsen is truly impressive, offering an unparalleled experience in the heart of Kusatsu Onsen. The onsen's renowned healing waters and exceptional facilities provide a perfect retreat, while its central location allows easy access to the charming surroundings of Kusatsu. This combination makes it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.
GGuest UserThe only photos of the accommodation were of breakfast because I was busy resting, but it was really great.
Location: 3 minutes from Yubatake / 5 minutes from Otaki no Yu (best value for money)
Service: They gave me a sign saying they couldn't speak English, but they somehow understood everything with an interpreter and provided all the services.
Facilities: Best value for money. There's a bathhouse on the first floor, but no one was using it, so I went alone in the early morning and took a bath. (There was no hair dryer in the room, so I just washed up in the first floor bathhouse.)
They even left my luggage after I checked out in the morning.
I would visit again.
GGuest UserThe service is very kind, the food is average, the drink coffee is unlimited self-service, the hot springs are soaked separately, and do not have to be with others. Overall very recommended
GGuest UserI stayed in a Western-style room this time. Overall, it's good! The bed is very small and the mattress is bad! But you can sleep on tatami in the room, which is great. I highly recommend it. The tatami mat is softer than the bed~ The price-performance ratio is high in terms of dinner and breakfast, which makes me feel that breakfast and dinner are enough for the room fee. It is suitable for friends who go out during the day and only come back at night to eat and take a short nap. I have to praise the service, the staff are all good. The location is OK, but the elderly over 70 years old are a little worried about climbing the slope.
SSOO CHOONIt is a good accommodation, old.. You can soak in hot springs ♨️ but the temperature is too high 🥹 The room is relatively small.. Breakfast is provided and the taste is ordinary.. The location can walk to the fine soup, which is convenient..
NNat_SThe location is perfect, right on the main square. But this ryokan doesn’t ready for foreign travelers, even Signboard only in Japanese. Workers doesn’t speak English also. And there is no kayseki dinner. In the room you’ll have matcha tea and beautiful tableware, traditional clothes. For breakfast you should choose time 7:30 or 8:30 and it’s so big (2 photo), but for me was very salty. There is two onsen - outside and inside on different floors.
PPGWe stayed 1 night at Kusatsu Onsen hotel village. It's indeed a resort which offers many activities (table tennis, bowling, game arcade etc.) and a separate spa center with swimming pool and sauna. We didn't bother to step out the hotel until we had to leave Kusatsu.
The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious too.
There is shampoo and bathing tools for babies in the ladies bath. I believe it's suitable for family with young children.
山山水圓方We took the Karuizawa bus to Kusatsu and walked to the hotel from the bus terminal. After passing Yubata, Google map showed that it took 15 minutes. There were up and down slopes along the way, especially the triple slope next to the hotel. It was very difficult to drag the luggage. There were no taxis and the bus took an hour. class. On the return trip, take the bus back to Tokyo, walk on a relatively flat slope, and pass by Kosenji Shopping Street, which takes about half an hour.
Both dinner and breakfast are buffets, with average taste and plenty of portions and varieties.
The room is quite big. The bathtub in the room is not open-air. The public bath is also indoors. The bathtub is not big. Fortunately, there are only a few people at a time.
TTeekhooTook JR express to Kusatsu. From train terminal take a 25 mins bus to Kusatsu bus terminal. There is a shuttle to bus terminal upon request. Take less than 3 mins to reach bus terminal. If walk, then you may take longer times.
I booked half boards. Dinner included. The dinner is super good. Free flow of rice, soup n side condiment. Breakfast was Okies. Takeaway coffee cups prepare for you.
I specially love the onsen. Robe n slippers had prepared in room for your usage.
Kusatsu is a place to have a short getaway from Tokyo.
