"I stayed at the hotel astoria for 4 days and my impressions of the hotel are excellent! All 3 receptionists we met were very kind and very enthusiastic, answering all our questions and queries about Geneva and our travels! The room was very clean and had four types of sockets, which made it easy for us to charge all our electronic devices, without adding an adaptor! Also, the location was ideal, with the train station opposite and an area that was always crowded and lively! I will prefer it the next time I am in Geneva!"

EEmmanuel HemmerléI was going to arrive late in the evening last night so I wrote the hotel to enquire about transportation from the airport to the hotel. They told me very diligent it and precisely about their shuttle service. When I arrived at the hotel, the desk person, a Swiss gentleman, was extremely hospitable, friendly, authentic, detailed in a good sense, helpful and professional. He also helped me book a taxi for the next day. What a great way to welcome a guest. Really best practice. Lots of desk employees around the world should learn from him! The room was very nice, all fine. Large enough, and having all amenities. Excellent lunch at the hotel: very good cuisine. I needed to leave my luggage at the concierge: they did it all very well. The only point for improvement: when I left, I asked a lady at the reception, apparently Swiss, to help me get my luggage back and book a taxi for me. She did it but in a cold and distant way. She should go find another job in a different industry. One where she can continue being unfriendly.

GGuest UserIt was very unclear where the airport pick-up point actually was when you come out of the building. All they told me on the phone was that it's terminal 1, gate 3 and a black van. Well if they had elaborated and explained that you go past the taxi ranks to the coach pick-up section, that would have been far less stressful at 11pm. Once there, there was indeed a black van with the 'Nash' branding on the side which arrived in 10 minutes. A short ride away (5 mins) and we got dropped off at the hotel. Late check-in is at the reception desk in the airport hotel next door. For some reason, the lift in the hotel next to reception wasn't working (myself and another guest tried to get it to work) - meanwhile some hotel employee was on the phone in the room next door. I then had to carry my 23kg bag fortunately up just one flight of stairs, but this would be an issue for other guests with limited mobility. Transfer back to the airport the next morning was pretty smooth. In summary, clearer instructions around the pick-up and a working lift would have improved the experience, but it was still perfectly adequate and convenient for an early morning flight at 7am.

BBenny Hon ChungThe hotel is in a central location which is only a few minutes walk from the railway station and the old town where the cathedral and all the big luxury brands can be found. There are a lot of restaurants in its vicinity. The hotel is a bit old but very clean and comfortable. The room is spacious and sound proofing is excellent. The staff are extremely polite, welcoming, and accomodating. It's worth mentioning that the hotel's check in time is 1500 but we were given a room when we arrived at 1210. The gentleman and lady at the reception counter even gave us a city map and took several minutes telling us where to go. The two reception girls in the afternoon also showed us their welcoming smiles every time they saw us. When we called to request to have a kettle the hotel gave us not just a kettle but a whole lot of instant coffee and tea bags. Wow what a surprise to receive such excellent service in a small 4 star hotel! I highly recommend it to all travellers who want to receive exceptional service.

NnarcissashiThe room is considered big in Switzerland. The hotel also sent an email in advance reminding me that I can get the Geneva transportation card for free, which is very considerate.

GGuest UserThe location is not very good. It is near international organizations and a long walk from the city center, but it is relatively quiet. It is an older hotel. From the photos on the wall, it seems that many celebrities have stayed here.

JJoanne see the worldDuring our recent stay, we used the complimentary airport shuttle service. Upon arriving at the airport, the driver refused to assist us with our luggage, despite this typically being part of the service — especially important as we are a group of women and I personally have an arm injury. When I asked the driver for assistance, he ignored my request and insisted we handle the luggage ourselves. However, moments later, when two European passengers approached, he quickly helped them without hesitation. He also removed all other passengers’ luggage except ours. Only after I insisted again did he very reluctantly and roughly unload our luggage. This behavior was highly disrespectful, and the difference in treatment was so stark that it felt clearly discriminatory — suggesting that we were being treated differently because we are Asian.

GGuest UserThe hostel was fabulous, and what a breakfast, huge selection and as much fresh coffee as one can consume. . . think I got my moneys worth 😁 Only downside was the lack of air conditioning, quite stuffy in the building, and even in the quite room I requested I still had to ask someone to put their phone on silent at 10pm!! Perfect place to stay in Geneva 🙏🏼

GGuest UserHotel was immaculately clean and smelt lovely, room was perfect, location was great, right in the heart of Geneva with easy access to train stations/bus stations and activity pick up points, nice chocolate shop underneath the hotel, with a McDonald’s and a wine and cheese restaurant. Although the breakfast buffet was all cold food baring boiled eggs, however choice was great, staff very attentive. Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone, cheap enough for Geneva and couldn’t fault it personally.

KKamalathaI went a day earlier to confirm my stay with the hotel. They couldn't find my booking. I showed them my confirmation on my phone. I was told that they can see my confirmation number but no payment was made by trip.com. They assured me that such has happened before and told me to be on the safe guard book another room as a standby. They assured me that they will not swipe my card until matter is resolved. That assurance made me check in. I kept coming to the front office every now and then and I was told it was resolved. Only on the last night I was told that by Trip.com of the error in the address. In the meantime the hotel had swiped my card. Surprisingly they did not honour the feedbacks I gave to Hotel Montana Geneve and Hotel Montana Zurich. There was no email to apologise for the oversight and delay in handling. I went to the hotel one day earlier to check, they could have attended to it and not confidently putting the blame on trip.com since there has been previous incidents where [ayment was not received. I thought Hotel Montana group could have handled this matter better. Quite disappointing.
