AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach

We stayed for 3 nights, and the hotel's views were absolutely stunning! The room was very comfortable, and the Southeast Asian restaurant by the pool had delicious food at reasonable prices. The front desk can help arrange taxis if you want to go out. We tried a local seafood stall once but never went back because the environment was so poor. After that, we just ate at the hotel, and we never got tired of it. The breakfast was also incredibly rich, with many local specialty dishes. The restaurant opens at 6:30 AM for breakfast, but if you need to leave early, you can pre-order a breakfast box to take with you, which is very convenient. Highly recommend!

I really regret not discovering this hotel sooner! The hotel has a very quiet, Southeast Asian vibe. The service is also much better than hotels near the main tourist street. They offer yoga classes, morning Zumba on the beach, and even a diving club. I stayed at three different hotels in Labuan Bajo, and if I come back, this will be my top choice. The only thing to watch out for is mosquitoes in the room, but the front desk will provide mosquito coils if you ask.

Our stay in the Mountain View cabin with private pool was amazing. Awesome view from the room across to the balcony and pool. It was very relaxing to just keep cool in the pool and/or having breakfast on the balcony and enjoy the view. The room, shower etc were spacious and clean. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I’ll be coming back to stay in this room again.

First off, I want to say that the hotel staff and front desk were all incredibly friendly and helpful. A big shout-out to their breakfast take-away service, which is a lifesaver for anyone planning a day trip out to sea! If you know you won't have time for breakfast, you can arrange the take-away service with the front desk in advance. The hotel's breakfast runs from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, but most day tours to sea leave around 6 AM. I've attached the take-away menu for reference. The hotel itself is very new and super close to the airport, about a 10-minute walk. They also offer airport shuttle service, but remember to email them in advance to book your pick-up. Just a heads-up, avoid emailing on weekends – I did, and the hotel missed my email, so I ended up dragging my heavy suitcase to the hotel, which was a real drag. Also, the rooms don't have openable windows; they have sealed glass floor-to-ceiling windows. This means no smoking in the room, and ventilation isn't the best. Since it's a new hotel, there's still a slight 'new hotel smell,' so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that. However, since I was usually out at sea all day and only in the room at night, I wasn't really 'holed up' in the hotel, so it was perfectly acceptable. I was just happy that everything was new and clean, haha!

You really have to stay there to know. Make sure to choose a room with a balcony for better views. Rooms without balconies just have an 'inner window,' which basically means the room door is designed like a floor-to-ceiling window. The rooftop bar is no longer in operation, so the noise complaints from previous guests at night are pretty much gone. However, the ground floor bar is currently under renovation and will be opening next month. I'm not sure if it will be noisy then. The room isn't very spacious, and the TV only has two channels. There were red ants in the cracks of the room walls; if any food crumbs fell on the floor, a swarm of ants would immediately gather around.

Pros: 1. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and provided excellent service. 2. There's a private snorkeling area, which was a great experience, especially since we didn't book a liveaboard. Cons: 1. No internet, no internet, no internet! Apart from a few rooms on the hilltop, most rooms have extremely poor mobile signal (you can barely receive messages). WiFi is only available at the front desk. The management's excuse is that they ”don't want external noise to disturb guests,” but it's one thing if I have it and choose not to use it, and quite another if I need it and it's not available. If you need to stay consistently connected, this hotel is definitely not for you. 2. Prices are quite high. Since it's on a private island, a slight markup is understandable, but sometimes the prices are ridiculously high. For example, the hotel organized a beach buffet for 700k Indonesian Rupiah, which is about 300+ RMB after tax. The seafood options were only grilled shrimp, squid, and fish (the first two were served very slowly), and the only meat was grilled chicken skewers. In contrast, on the main island, we bought two large lobsters, two mantis shrimp as thick as a woman's arm, and even got two free squids, all for just over 700 RMB.

A really nice little hotel in Labuan Bajo. A bit out of the way of the town centre (10 minute drive or hofur walk), but Grab bikes are inexpensive and readily available. They organised a free airport pick up which was really handy and a great perk. Staff are really lovely and helpful. The outdoor space is lovely and the pool is also great. It could do with having someone clean it each morning to collect everything that falls from the trees but otherwise it was still a great facility. Our room was very quirky in its decoration but it was comfortable, clean and had hot water. They also have bag storage at reception which was very useful. Breakfast was a small buffet and was good. Good for a night or 2 before a boat trip to Komodo!

An excellent hotel where everything is thoughtfully arranged for a comfortable stay. The rooms and the entire property were very clean and well-maintained — everything looked neat and pleasant. The water in the shower was always running well, and there was consistently hot water, which is especially appreciated after a long day. A special thanks to the staff: kind, smiling, and always ready to help — you can really feel that they care. We were especially impressed that they prepared breakfast earlier than usual for us because of our early tours — a small gesture, but it says a lot about their attention to guests. At night, it was quiet and peaceful, nothing disturbed our sleep, and the room had a cozy atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful and green, clearly well looked after. We were very satisfied with our stay and would gladly recommend this hotel to our friends. Truly well done!

I booked a Peak View Premium Room, but it turned out to be on the first floor. When I opened the window, all I saw was a wall. I checked, and the sea view room was only a few tens of yuan more expensive, but it was a beach cabin. I really got a raw deal (bloody loss). I arrived at the hotel around 9 am and asked if I could check in early, perhaps at 12 pm, if the room was clean. I was told 'no, no, no,' and that I had to wait until exactly 2 pm. I was waiting for the welcome drink on the beach. The redemption card showed it could be used from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. At 11 am, when I asked, they said the restaurant was being cleaned and I had to wait. My companion and I were lying on the beach chairs, and no one came to offer us even a single towel, yet all the Caucasians on the adjacent chairs had towels. 🤷 My friend also asked how much it would cost to get a ride to the city. They said 100,000 Indonesian Rupiah (39 RMB) for a one-way trip. So, they dropped my friend off in the city. When it was time for them to return to the hotel, they couldn't be reached. The hotel kept ignoring messages, leaving them hanging. In the end, with no other option, they had to take a motorcycle taxi in a torrential downpour, speeding back on mountain roads. 👍

The hotel is opposite the Sylvia Hotel. The rooms are in general sanitary condition. The room is on a hillside. The hotel is on a very steep slope. The roads and beaches are average. The breakfast is very simple. The conditions for a rowboat to play nearby are much worse than Sylvia, but the price is also cheaper. Generally, it is very good for people who travel in an adventure spirit.
