Oxford Hotels with Bars

This hotel's location is super convenient for guests traveling with luggage and looking to city-walk, being just a 4-minute walk from the train station. It's really easy to drop off your bags and head straight into Oxford. There's no elevator, but the male staff are happy to help with luggage. Although our room faced the street, it was surprisingly quiet. Plus, there's a supermarket right downstairs, making daily life really easy. Our family room had three beds and a spacious bathroom, though there was no fridge or kitchen. Overall, I recommend it.

The hotel is in a very good location, only ten minutes' walk from the city and the station, suitable for travel and business trips. The hotel rooms are very clean and equipped with mineral water, which is actively replaced every day. The window view is also very good, near the castle and prison attractions, with beautiful scenery, and the hotel has its own backyard lawn and leisure space, which is very private. The exterior of the hotel is an ancient castle building, and the interior is also very new and has a sense of design. Overall, it is highly recommended.

The hotel is quite secluded, surrounded by residential areas. The yard is big enough for kids to run around freely. The hotel food was good. However, the breakfast policy for children did not match the description on Ctrip, and the front desk staff was very rude. They also didn't inform us about the à la carte service, which felt a bit discriminatory. You really have to fight for your rights!

We were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked.  It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend..  Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk.  Buses went to the city centre and railway station.  The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff.  Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area.  Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

EXCEPT the night shift assistant manager who made the check-in experience terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t call the night shift assistant manager’s attitude merely disappointing — it was astonishing. We arrived to check in around midnight, and it seemed we might have disturbed his sleep. He reacted with rudeness, even slamming the desk as he handed me the check‑in sheet, and curtly instructed me to sign it. It was already late at night, and after a long day of traveling I chose not to voice my disappointment at that time. However, I did not encounter him again in the following days during my stay. Indeed I sent a couple of messages through the booking agent to the hotel informing my late arrival, but none of them got a reply. Is it a normal practice (no response) of Courtyard?

We loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.

The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure,temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

The hotel's architectural style is quite appealing, making you feel like you're staying in a villa. Its location is a bit far from the main attractions, so if you're not driving, you might want to consider other options carefully. For self-driving tourists, parking costs £10 per night.

Superb location right in the centre of Oxford. Good for those travelling without car. If travelling with car, you would need to park in Westgate or Worcester street car park. Only opened in 2024, so the facilities are new and clean. Modern chic style. Spa is small, but has steam, sauna and experience shower. The only thing was whenever we asked for something, it took us 2-3 attempts to finally get things delivered.

I was in the Red Room which had the most fabulous view over Jesus College. The set up worked really well. The bathroom was a bit mouldy in some areas and the arrival instructions were confusing. Worth all that to get the view and location.
