TT5-HammerIf you’re looking for a unique historic experience in Avignon, I strongly recommend this hotel. The wall of the room was several hundreds years old and we felt like drawn into a time trip. Veronique and Fabrice were very kind and we could stay comfortably as Fabrice recommended us many good restaurants.

LlouisajeffEuropean classical style hotel, from garden to indoor carpet hanging paintings, bookshelves, ornaments Room bedding blanket curtains, to front desk bellman, both quality and taste. The restaurant recipe is handwritten on the day, very special, if you have a recipe electronic or printed reference picture will be more helpful to the guests, especially foreign diners. In short, it is highly recommended.

HHouzhiyefengkuangThe environment is excellent, needless to say, and there's even a swimming pool. Sometimes in the evenings, the front desk lounge offers bread and drinks, which are incredibly delicious! The location is also very convenient, especially if you're driving!

HhlledgEverything was pretty good. It's right next to the train station, and there's a bus stop downstairs (you can take the 707 to Van Gogh's asylum in Saint-Rémy). It's also quite close to attractions, making it very convenient to get around. However, why was I charged the city tax twice? The first time, after I paid, the money was deducted, but then they said the system hadn't received it and told me to check the next day if I needed to pay again. The next day, they still said they hadn't received it, so I paid a second time. I was inexplicably charged twice. Even though the city tax is only €1.76, it made me feel very uncomfortable, as if I was trying to avoid paying it. This is the first time I've ever been charged twice for a single person. Luckily, the room environment was good. I'd advise everyone to pay the city tax in cash and keep the receipt to avoid them saying they haven't received it again 😅

The environment is very quiet.
The location is good, less than ten minutes walk from Avignon center train station, and there is a tram outside the hotel.
The staff is also very enthusiastic and introduced local attractions and restaurants.
You can see the ancient city wall outside the hotel.

Aanne1234The room does not have gauze curtains. The weather was hot and there were mosquitoes during the few days I was there. I could not open the window for natural ventilation and the ventilation was poor. If you need to clean the room, you must tell me in advance (I didn't tell you when I checked in), otherwise it will not be cleaned. The hotel is in a good location, close to the train station, but there are many homeless people on that street. Overall, it is average.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located directly opposite the old town, making it very convenient for exploring. There's an underground car park with plenty of spaces, costing 14 Euros for 24 hours, and it felt very secure.
We stayed in an executive room, but it was a bit small – actually the smallest room we've had on this European trip. A pleasant surprise was that they provided disposable slippers, which was the only time we encountered that in Europe. On each floor, near the elevator, there's a water dispenser with ice water, so the hotel doesn't provide bottled water in the rooms.
There was air conditioning in the room, but it wasn't very effective; even on the lowest setting, it didn't cool much. What was a bit frustrating was that the cleaning lady, thinking we had it too low, adjusted the AC to 27 degrees Celsius on a low fan setting right in front of us. This was a bit ridiculous, especially since it was already 39 degrees outside – it was really hot!
There aren't many restaurants, shops, or supermarkets around Novotel Avignon Centre itself. However, because it's so close to the old town, everything can be found there. In the old town, there are two large supermarkets, Carrefour and Monoprix. Monoprix is closed on Sundays, but Carrefour is open every day.

AAnonymous UserThe sheets were only clean cuz they outsourced the cleaning to another company who does the job well. For this price, you need to put your own sheets and set up your own bed, AND still have to send it downstairs (didn’t seem mandatory but encouraged). My ceiling walls were peeling, my bunk bed frame made of cold metal, and the tap was hard to control — water kept flowing out even if we pressed the knob lightly. I slept well on the first night but on the second, homeless people were screaming and harassing a girl, woke my roommates up and we weren’t sure if we should call the police. You’re better off another hostel. Breakfast variety was ok.

GGuest UserHotel is OK for one night stay. The room is a little small. There is a small swimming pool. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel connecting to the city of Avignon. The price is a bit high, but this is the Avignon Festival time so I can understand.
