Pros The hotel facilities were absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. Traditional Nubian style house. Every corner makes you want to capture the space. We had a rocky start but the hotel staff tried to redeem themselves. We lost an apple watch which the hotel helped us get back ASAP before we reached Luxor. We are grateful for this. Cons Awful communication and hospitality. We were the only guests in the entire resort because of low season but still received shitty service. The hotel is in a secluded place making it difficult to reach.It’s on top of a mountain on a dusty rocky road. The hotel offers a tuktuk. We did our research prior and contacted the hotel to arrange getting to the hotel from the village and check in since we knew we’d land in the AMs. We were ignored. We arrived at the village meeting point at 1:45 but only ended up getting to our rooms around 3:50am because reaching the hotel via call and WhatsApp was so difficult. The staff had no sense of urgency. We were frustrated and anxious in this wellness resort. Our taxi driver refused to take us up the mountain and the tuktuk refused to take us because of our many bags (which is understandable). I’m very disappointed in the service and I know the staff has lots of potential to improve on their service delivery. The hotel needs to be more cognisant of their customer service and guests hospitality. Staying here was stressful. Recommended if you want aesthetic vibes,a beautiful picturesque hotel with good breakfast. Don’t recommend if you prioritise great guest services, comfortability and peace.

Katodoll is a unique hotel for relaxation and disconnection from outer world and social media it’s perfect for couples to enjoy the vibes and have a wonderful experience but not suitable for seniors and the way to the hotel is not paved for half the way and it’s through a mountain People working there are friendly helpful and the food is organic

This is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for "accommodation" itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village. First of all, you have to be able to tolerate: 1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel. 2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide). 3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it. 4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel. 5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person... What did we get here? 1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am. 2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic. 3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic. 4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles. 5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay.

Although I only stayed for a few hours, arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning, the staff were very kind. The room was clean and very comfortable.

It's quite remote, don't go there alone

This hotel has basically no reviews from Chinese people. In order to avoid pitfalls, it is necessary to review it. The hotel is located in a remote location, on a hilltop by the Nile River. It is not in the city of Aswan. You need to reach the foot of the mountain and then take a tuktuk for more than 20 minutes to circle up the mountain. Although tuktuk is free, the taxi driver who takes you there usually doesn't know that you need to go up the mountain, and once he learns that you have to go up the mountain, he will curse and complain all the way. If you arrive in Aswan at night, it will be even more embarrassing. Living there, you avoid all opportunities to participate in Aswan's city life, especially nightlife, because it is very inconvenient to go up and down the mountain and back. Cars for related travel itineraries can be booked by the hotel, but the hotel manager will also quote a price and will not accept any negotiation. He will not leave a cent off a big meal.

This wellness resort is surrounded by the desert with a 5 mins walk to the beach. The colorful colors is very appealing to the eyes. The rooms are unique with a view to the beach and a perfect sunset view. You don’t really have to leave the resort but if you want to visit the nearby village it’s 10 mins away. They provide free ride on a put out to a certain time. We had lunch and breakfast and it was good. Be prepared for the amount of food. It was a lot for me that I couldn’t really eat. The workers are nice and friendly. They sung happy birthday to me while I was at the pool.

We had a great experience at Kato Dool, the food was probably some of the best food we had on our whole trip in Egypt and even better was the Egyptian massage we got from Shadi and Omnaya, hands down the best massages we’ve ever had. The staff were great and super friendly and accommodating. The swimming pool was a nice touch too!

Staying at Kato Dool was an unforgettable experience! The beauty of the site, the breathtaking view over the Nile Valley, and the peaceful atmosphere made it truly special. We loved discovering Nubian culture, and the kindness of the team—especially Asma—made us feel at home. The fresh, local cuisine was delicious, and every detail in the decor added to the charm. The small boutique with unique creations was a lovely touch. A serene and inspiring place, perfect for relaxation. I highly recommend it!

I spent my anniversary and it was a very lovely. The hotel location is perfect on top of the mountain and it has a wonderful view to all Aswan next to Nubian Village , they serve a fantasic nubien food and staff are very friendly. In additon , they affoard a lot of activities and tours managed by the property..I recommend it for wellness and relaxation holidays with family , friends or honey mooners.

If you visit Aswan you must stay at Kato Dool. The location is amazing - it is about 20 minutes from the Nubian village, via a bumpy desert track but it is well worth the effort to get there. The building is beautiful. The rooms are large and very clean and comfortable. All have amazing views. The food in the restaurant is quite a lot more expensive than eating in restaurants in the Nubian village (about 3x price). But the food is very good, and the service is excellent. The pool area is great. The pool needs to be a bit better maintained (the filter system needs fixing). It is a short walk to the beach, and there is a free tuk tuk to the village whenever you need. All of the staff were very helpful and welcoming. A special mention to Ahmed on reception and Tariq who made sure we had everything we needed.

This place is heaven. The beds are AMAZING, the food is very good and the staff is the BEST PART. Staff is amazing. I will dream about the beds at this resort. They were perfection! ........................................................

I’ve never left a bad review for a hotel before, but I booked this one based largely on the positive reviews and photos, and I would have appreciated some candid insight on the downsides. The hotel is very far out of the way on a badly paved road. Most drivers won’t go there, which then requires a long tuk tuk ride through dirty streets to get to the bridge, and considerable added time to get to tour sites. There’s no hot water and the cold water comes out in a trickle. The service was poor and generally non-existent. During dinner, a waiter dropped a tray of boiling hot hibiscus tea on me. Accidents happen, but the hotel’s lack of response was egregious and emblematic of the poor hospitality at this hotel. They did not offer to comp our dinner (not even the tea) or launder my soiled clothes. I got burn blisters all over my side torso, which they did not express any concern for. After showing pictures of my burns, my husband was eventually able to negotiate a small discount on our meals, which in no way compensated for the blisters I still have on my side. All that said, I think this could be a nice lunch spot if you don’t mind the out of way location (and don’t order anything too hot!). The hotel grounds are lovely and the staff does a great job keeping them clean. The food was excellent — some of the best we had on our trip.
