Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Asahikawa Eki Higashi Guchi Reviews

The hotel environment was excellent. Out of the six hotels I stayed at during my eight-day Hokkaido trip, this Toyoko Inn was by far the best for its price range. The breakfast was also very substantial.

Due to high demand, our second night was in a smoking room, and it definitely had a strong odor. However, there was a spray bottle on the wall, and after using it, the air quality improved significantly. The hygiene was very good, and the room had amenities like a kettle and a fridge. Plus, it's very close to Asahikawa Station, which was great.

The hotel is not the closest to the JR station, but it is conveniently within walking distance. The room was adequate for one person and offered sufficient space for one piece of luggage. Breakfast is available from 6:30 to 9:00 AM, featuring a selection of both Japanese and Western food. Additionally, there is a convenience store situated nearby.

The front staff on 2026, February 4th were the worst. I went there at about 1120am to drop my luggage. They checked my reservation and asked me when did get back. I replied about 6 or 7pm. In my usual experience, I will have my room cards when I get back because the hotel has already checked who I am, whose those luggage are, and when the guests will come back. However, when I get back, I wait for one customer to get to the staff for acquiring the luggage. I wait for another customer to get to the front and tell them where is my room key. And the reply is “Use the machine to check in” . Which really angered me! When I finally get to the room, there was obvious smoke smell in the room. When I returned to the front for this, I did not hear a single sorry. I asked “Is this room a smoking room?” She replied “ No” I said “there’s heavy smoking smell in the rooom” and she discussed with someone not showing in my sight then tell me again “this is not a smoking room”. Therefore I asked her to check the room and then changed the room. I still heard no apology for this.  I am very willing to use machines instead of spending my time waiting in a long queue. But when there is no other customers ,the front staff should serve the only customer at present, not telling them to use the machine. In fact later when I went out, I saw the same staff serving other customers returning their passports and room cards. This really gives me a feeling of being in discriminated. I have travelled Japan many many times. This is the first time the feeling so strong.  The only thing that shine in this hotel is the attitude showed by the cooking staff. They even bowed after the serving time is over. I remembered now, I was sleeping in a breakfast shop with rooms not a hotel with breakfast.

True to its brand, this hotel boasts excellent hygiene with a clean and tidy room. Plus, they gave me a fantastic room with an amazing view, letting me enjoy the most beautiful blue hour in Asahikawa!

Clean room with good amenities available in front desk. Also, great complimentary breakfast included with a great price, highly recommend!

From Asahikawa Station, head straight to the main road, turn right, and keep walking until you see the Toyoko Inn sign. It's about a six or seven-minute walk. The hotel is clean, and self-check-in was very easy. Breakfast is self-service downstairs and can be taken up to your room. The room size is quite spacious. Recommended!

It's super convenient, but definitely small. The hotel is right next to the JR station, just a five or six-minute walk away, making day trips anywhere incredibly easy. The room is standard Toyoko Inn style. Breakfast mainly consists of rice balls with many varieties, and you can even take them to go.

We were impressed by the service and location of the hotel. We had stayed at a Toyoko Inn hotel several years ago and were still impressed by its simple yet modern style. The cleanliness was outstanding, which made our stay truly relaxing.

Slightly away from the station but great value for money. Room is comfortable and feels larger than it is.

True to the usual Toyoko Inn standard. While the location isn't right next to Asahikawa Station, it's just one extra block away. The hairdryer was good and powerful, but the kettle wasn't great – it boiled slowly and was easy to burn yourself on. Also, breakfast was quite simple, mostly rice balls, but it tasted alright.

Toyoko Inn hotels are pretty consistent. This one is close to the station.

One of the better Toyoko hotels , good value . Would book again .

The hotel is very well located. Very close to the JE station and main street. They give you a complimentary breakfast that is not bad. The worst thing is the bed and pillow, a little bit hard for me. But is a good option to stay in this city
