Easy to check in, very close to Gatklettur. If you are checking in late, make sure to eat dinner before heading to Arnarstapi, as there is no restaurant open late.

Located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, each room is an independent cabin. The room is not big but the location is good. When you open the door, you can see the sea view. When you wake up in the morning, you can catch the sunrise. It is beautiful!

Stayed at the Arnarstapi cottages one night on our way to Olafsvik. The cottages had a great view for Northern Lights. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant was really good. The cottage was warn and cozy and we will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

The cottage itself is a nice design but only a couple have an ok view (11 & 13), the rest are just looking out at the back of buildings, such a shame. Very poorly equipped, ours did have a kettle and microwave but no cutlery at all, not even a spoon for the coffee, and of course if you are an overseas visitor you will not always have cutlery with you. Everything was closed due to time of year so we were eating in the cottage, - luckily a neighbour loaned us a fork. The hot water ran out at one point, not all the lights were working and there was no wifi as advertised, we didn't mind this but some would. The hosts are very poor at any kind of support, they didn't answer questions we sent, we got snowed in for two nights, our neighbour had messaged them asking for a shovel or something to help get out, they said they would come and help in an hour but never showed up at all, this sounds like it happens very regularly after speaking to some locals. All in all very disappointing. The location is beautiful, right on the coast with gorgeous views across the ocean when you are walking. However I wouldn't recommend this particular accomdation or hosts, there are definitely nicer places with better views and of the same ilk very close by.

Small basic rooms. Good enough for a night. Depending on which unit you get it can be a little walk down the gravel path to your unit. Would be nice to have a fan in the room. The floor was still a little wet from the previous cleaning between clients. A fan would help dry it out.

A perfect pit-stop between Reykjavik and Akureyri. The cottage ( not the hotel), was exactly as advertised and an excellent location from which to explore the sights of Snaefellsnes. The one room cottage was cozy, functional and clean. On our second of three nights we were treated to an exceptional aurora show which we enjoyed from the front porch and out back. Dining options were limited by opening hours and simply required a little pre-planning. All in all a comfortable stay in a very scenic area of Iceland. Take a chance, get away from the crowds and build your adventure!

Great concept and lovely coastal location. The cottages are quiet and adequately sized for two people. However, the lighting was poor and there was no storage, except in the bathroom. Promising to find a kettle, fridge and microwave, but there was no further equipment except a couple of mugs and glasses. Fortunately we had our own plates and cutlery. Small amount of tea and coffee provided, but no soap in the bathroom. No attempt at cleaning or housekeeping; only the bin was emptied daily. These cottages have the potential to be extraordinary, if only more thought for the client experience was applied.

Nice set up with multiple cottages on one side of the road (further from the water) and the hotel on the other side (closer to the water). If view is important to you, then the hotel might have better access to water view as some of the cottages probably look at the buildings of the hotel. Luckily my cottage was at the east end (room 11) so my window had an unobstructed view of the water, and my door could see the hotel/water as well. Check in is at the Arnarstapi Center (where the restaurant is) and that’s also where you park your car. It’s a short 1-2 min walk to your cottage. But you are allowed to drive up to your cottage to unload luggage before parking your car a bit further. The inside is basic but lights were functional. Kettle, microwave, and mini fridge. We didn’t want to eat at the restaurant so bought a sandwich before coming here and microwaved it to heat it up. Would be nice if they provided basic utensils and plates. I had no problems with wifi as some others have had. Fast connection, could watch Netflix. It is true there is limited hot water (~5 min) but my partner and I just showered 1 hour apart at the end of the night. Both had hot water and with the expectation it would be short lived. It’s nearby to the trail by the waterfront including the stone bridge which was pretty. I would stay here again if I drove into the peninsula again.

Beautiful, fairly new cottages, excellent kitchen equipment, beautiful place, suitable for excursions, simple restaurant but good food, close to a shop 40 km. It was neat and had a lovely shower with an extra separate toilet. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended for a few days.

We had cottage no. 10: modern, gray tones, huge bathroom. In short, fantastic and a stone's throw from the bay. There are 3 restaurants very close by, therefore a well-served area. Be careful of the birds, they are particularly aggressive, eh eh!

Gelangweilte Bedienung. Durchschnittliches Frühstück.
