The hostel was close to the bus stop and town which was really handy. The facilities were good and seemed clean. It’s a shame reception isn’t open for longer to be able to ask staff any questions.

A decent and organized hostel with clean bed sheets and kitchen with large fridges to store food and cooking. The bathrooms were clean and had hot water for good showers.

Very pleasent stay... good location... everything is well oranised...

Unfortunately, the staff forgot my swipe card so I needed to call them and they came within 10 minutes to give me my card (as I was checking in late). My luggage was kept safely and waiting for me next to my room. Only two others were in the room that night so it was good value for money. The kitchen was slightly cleaner this time round. I'd happily stay here again if I visit the Outback/Alice Springs. Thank you. 🙏

Cool hostel to live and explore center of Australia

The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the facilities are complete, the environment is elegant, and the service is warm. I have made another reservation for this return trip.

The location is excellent, tourist information, supermarkets, bus station, local tour pick up location...all together in the same block. Well-equipped and well-managed, all facilities are considerate of tourists, enthusiastic service staff, rooms, bathrooms,,, clean and hygienic, the floor of the room is so clean that you can sit directly on the ground, free Internet, ice water,,, safe, other travelers The quality of people is also very high. I can just leave my passport, wallet, mobile phone, etc. outside, go swimming, take a shower, use the toilet, etc., and they will still be there when I come back (this is currently the case in central Australia. I feel that the quality of the people is very good. )

Since the check-in time will be exceeded, I made a note when booking, but I never received a reply. I emailed the hotel the night before check-in, but there was still no reply. Please check-in online on the day of the hotel. I also left a message with them but got no reply. Fortunately, there happened to be someone who was checking in late when I arrived at the hotel door. They got the password to open the room card box, and I was able to check in smoothly.

It feels quite clean for a youth hostel. I went there outside the peak tourist season. The public bathrooms are nice and clean with plenty of water. The public kitchens are fully stocked with pots and pans, there are many refrigerators and the location is also very good.

The front desk staff was very friendly. It happened to be my birthday the next day when I checked in. They also bought me a bottle of drink and free towels. The room was large and clean overall, but there were no shelves in the shower space to put clothes. It would be better to bring a plastic bag with you.

Staff are amazingly helpful and dedicated to their role. The YHA is maintained impeccably. Admin is always very responsive to any queries Coupled with Larapinta Express the professional relationship between these two organisations is amazing and allows travellers to plan their Larapinta adventures with ease.

We had to make our own beds in the room, a task which was difficult to do on the top bunk and exposed stains on the mattresses. The website also said there was air-con however we only had a stand up fan in the room which didn't reach the top bunks and made a clicking sound when it was on rotation mode (which was necessary for it to reach more than one person). Reception is also only open for 5 hours a day and proved to be quite inconvenient when we wanted to inquire about the air-con or having an additional fan. Whilst there was an emergency telephone number, the $20 fine for “non-emergency calls” discouraged us. Despite this, the kitchen was big and bathrooms were good.

We stayed five nights at the Alice Springs YHA. It is being managed by Matt who was extremely friendly and helpful. Our two person room was clean and comfortable. All the shared facilities were thoroughly cleaned daily and the laundry facilities worked really well. The pool and garden area are really nice. Keeping cars safe at the moment in Alice is an issue and Matt was very helpful in enabling people to bring their cars into the hostel 'compound' at night which was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend for a friendly, safe and good value stay.
