The staff were professional and tried to communicate in English, which was unexpected as we were the guests. Although the hotel is enormous and shows signs of ageing, it is still well-maintained. The rooms were spacious and one of the best during my entire 2 weeks trip. The only issue was that the corridors were not insulated, and very cold during the winter. Coin laundry is located within the Main Building, so it can be a pain to walk from the East Building, braving the cold, to use the facility.

There are fewer hot spring options, but the place is large and there are open-air hot springs, which are quite comfortable.

A transit hotel for taking the icebreaker to Abashiri. The hotel room has a view of Lake Abashiri and is very close to ice fishing. If you want to experience ice fishing, you can stay here. There is a direct bus to the airport, which is also convenient.
