Fantastic hotel, superbly clean, friendly staff, great room and an amazing breakfast - all for a very reasonable price - we will most certainly return to this hotel on future Bergen trips.

Functional room that had everything you needed for a comfortable sleep. Great for the price. Liked the self check-in and check-out, was quick and hassle free. Lovely central location. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We booked an overnight in Flamt between the boat trip up the Sognefjord, and the train ride from Flam to Oslo. This was booked by my travel agent. While booked in December 2023, it was the last available room at this hotel. The hotel was nice, and surprisingly quiet. Until the fire alarm went off at midnight. Apparently, this is a known issue at this hotel when someone gets out of the shower the steam from the shower sets off the fire alarm, which interestingly is located right above and outside the bathroom. This property does most of the big things very, very well, lots of nice restaurants, very quiet rooms. Reasonably comfortable beds. Yet some of the things are oddly terrible. Small, raggedy gray towels. No face cloths. Nespresso machine that would not function properly. And then the midnight awakening by the fire alarm (which was not relaxing at all, on what was meant to be relaxing vacation). No way to control the temperature in the room, so that we woke up, ridiculously hot in the middle of the night, and ridiculous duvets on the beds which added to the crazy heat. The bed was reasonably comfortable, the brewpub was delicious, and the little town is super cute. When I return to this particular hotel? I’m not sure. Maybe if I could get a different room and maybe if they did a little bit better with the smaller things.

Super friendly pre-coming staff and check in at 13:00. nearly family atmosphere. The beds are OK and the rooms are simple and not too warm. The hotel is not even 2 minutes from arrival. With the tram you get every 10 minutes for just 3.90 euros per journey to the city centre. Please return immediately. Mountain is great!

Stately and elegant in white, Fretheim stands so close to the Flamsbana train station and the pier that you immediately see it as you step off either boat or train. it has a pretty flower garden in front with tables and chairs you can 'park' in for minutes or hours. There's a cozy but spacious lobby with a fireplace where guests waiting for their train or express boat ride can sit in comfort with enough privacy. The front desk staff are very accommodating and take the time to explain things, even though most of their guests are there for only one night. The rooms are standard sized with great balconies that overlook the village center-cum pier and train station. Furniture is standard but the amenities are pretty basic - there's no fridge, no coffee machine (though there's a hot water pot with instant coffee). There's wifi but pretty slow. Checkout time is a bit earlier, at 11 am. The breakfast has a very good spread, with a wide assortment of vegetables and good hot food selection. Plus so many variations of salmon which was impressive. We also found out that you could buy a paper bag and stuff it with a make-your-own sandwich so you could do a picnic lunch while touring the fjords - nice option. A big plus was the walking trail behind the hotel which got you to a higher elevation that gave a great view of the lake and the village center. You could walk for an entire hour without repeating your walk. Several had commented on the need for an update but I didn't notice this.

Already when I/we checked in, many young people arrived with full plastic bags with clinking bottles and large speakers in tow. I wondered, but thought maybe they should go ahead and have a party. I was completely wrong there. The party was held at the Scandic hotel from early evening to early morning. There was running in the corridors, shouting and screaming, banging on pipes, doors slamming continuously, and there was partying and noise that only really drunk people can make. I and others contacted reception who unfortunately could not deal with them. I also think that one or two receptionists cannot handle 20 maybe 25 very drunk young people. In the morning told the young female receptionist that when they complained about a room, the party just moved to a new room. She was very kind and apologized many times. Friendly and sweet service. Immediately, I think that the police should have been called if the party didn't stop. Me and my 2 fellow travelers were refunded DKK 400 for our rooms... But honestly, I think it would have been appropriate to give us the full amount back. Never before have I had such an experience in a hotel.

First off, if you're thinking of going to Bergen, DO IT! The city is gorgeous and the Fjord tours that depart are also amazing. Second, the Moxy is a fine choice. It is affordable and appears to be new (so it's not run down). The brand is definitely trying hard to be fun, but overall it succeeds well enough for me. The rooms are a bit small, but sufficient. The hotel is a bit far from the main area, but you can take a nearby tram (Florida stop I believe) or just walk. We walked and I want to say it was a 20 -30 minute stroll. Doable. Similarly, you can take the train/tram from the airport to the hotel. There are a few restaurants very close to the hotel, but they were just okay. However, the hotel's snacks were themselves surprisingly good.

Things are different! We found a two bed room is really more like a room with a king bed. Well, OK, but not what we expected. The room was quite small, but worked pretty well. There is a metal frame that serves as a place to hang clothing, several shelves so you can put clothing out, but no drawer storage. There was a TV, you could make coffee/tea in the room (if you wanted). Biggest surprise: the bathroom was fully suitable for an RV. I could touch wall to wall with my outstretched arms. The shower was the size of half a phone booth. The sink was about 10X14 inches. Tiny, but it worked. The room was overlooking the Bergen Visitor Info Center and Fish Market. One night there were a lot of revelers. Otherwise it was quiet. Breakfast was a buffet, with some hot items, and the usual cold cuts, cheese, breads. Some fruit. The coffee machines are fine when they work, but it seems that guests are pretty hard on them and they were not always available. We were joining a cruise, but at the last minute learned we had to delay our arrival several hours due to harbor congestion. We spent the extra time, with our luggage and kindles in the hotel's small lobby. The staff made us welcome, and assisted us with a taxi when we were finally able to depart.

We arrived late evening and had to wait in the lobby for a good 40 minutes because the key system did not work. I felt bad for the receptionist that became so stressed he was swearing and saying sorry to us multiple times. He offered my man a bottle of water as it was included in the membership but we would have appreciated Mabe a glass of water for me as vell. After getting another employe to help out they got us to the room. Both very helpful and stressed. These things can happen we understand. The room had a view over the harbor and was clearly at the old part of the hotel not like the pictures of the hotel. Very high ceilings, but very dark. Not a lot of lighting in the room. The glasses in the room was dirty with lipstick stains so we had to take another trip down to the front desk. The bed was inviting even tho it was two single beds and not a double witch we expectedly have booked. Plus for robes and slippers. The bathroom was also old and it was very hard to find a livable temperature in the shower. Eigther super warm or freezing. Wee needed to sleep with the window open because of the room was quite warm and not well conditioned. The breakfast was ok, not really what I expected for a clarion hotel but I found options to my likings. The breakfast staff was nice. The best thing about the hotel was the location but all in all we will be choosing one of the other hotels in the city center the next time.

Then gave the information I needed and explained the way to the elevator. All with kindness and a big smile. It gave a very good start to a good stay. Asked at check in for room with view and high up. I got it in room 616 which had a balcony. I think most rooms do not have a balcony or that view. So a tip is to ask and if they are available, you will get enough. The room was clean. And that's the most important thing for me. Not very big and the bathroom was even smaller. But it is more than enough for two people visiting this city. Even though the room is clean, it appears to be somewhat worn over time. You can see it on the scraped panel stove, scraper and other things on the walls, the bedding has some smaller holes and is worn (but comfortable to sleep in). When there are better times for the hotel industry, it would not cost much to raise the standard a little. Breakfast has everything you need, but does not appear very exciting. You can see there are some measures taken that raise it from basic, and there is a lot of staff at work. But it's a long way up to the city's best breakfast and there is constantly empty for some products during the breakfast. Then it is important to know that the Comfort hotels at Nordic Choice Hotels are the most affordable. I have often stayed in Quality hotels in the past and the standard is one notch or two up. So for what you pay here for the rooms with breakfast it is very good value! And the very best value here is those who work here. Whether it is night guards, cleaners or others. There are always positive answers if you want something. And accompanying smile. Otherwise there is a bar here if you wish. And from Bybanen it may be around 10-15 minutes to walk. So it is centrally located in Bergen. Can definitely recommend this hotel for the price against the standard one gets.

All great. Modern design, good breakfast, great views. Little things: The shower has no curtain, so the toilet gets flooded after the shower. And there is no shelf for soap or shampoo in the shower - should put it all on the floor.

This is the first time I write a review while still being a guest at the hotel, lets start with the good things. The hotel has an excellent location, nice and newly renovated rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine and had good variety as well. However, the upsetting part is that the bad things exceed the good ones. The hotel has a very loud bar/club on the ground floor and plays loud music even on weekdays until late at night, the loud music can be heard in the room. The bed isn’t comfortable, the one I had was used a lot probably and had an inside curve in the middle. The room service menu says that it’s available until 11 pm. However, if you try calling them after 10 pm nobody answers as the kitchen closes at 10 pm but its not written anywhere. They also charge for getting you tap water!! The reception desk, although they say its a 24hours desk, they wouldn’t pick up the phone if you call them after 10 pm. Once I asked for a fork at 10:15 pm the receptionist had to check if room service team would accept as the kitchen had already closed. And had to call the reception twice to get hold of them. The parking garage is operated by a third party, its very small and has probably spaces for 20-25 cars. So most probably it always full, in my case, the hotel staff asked me to go park my car in another public parking garage and walk back to the hotel. The housekeeping team doesn’t clean the room properly, I had hair in the bathroom and the shower drainage is blocked. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, this night is my last and I keep getting disappointed every night. I think the hotel has to offer better services and quality. You even have to greet the receptionist as they would answer by hello rather than “good evening” or “how can we help?” But that’s not important anyways. For the price I paid, I expected much better services from this hotel. I would definitely come back to Bergen, but never to this hotel, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Its not a 5 star hotel according to the global standards. I wouldn’t even give it 3 stars.

This is a nice hotel in Sognal. It is very centrally located right along a nice creek and near everything in town. The layout is a little weird. If you park in the back in the parking garage (which you have to pay for) you have to walk around the parking lot, up a ramp, through the restaurants, and into the lobby. There is a really old wing and a new wing. Our rooms were in the new wing. The larger restaurant only serves tour groups. The smaller restaurant is open to all guests but has a much more limited menu. The rooms were very comfortable and mine had a nice patio door with a view of the creek and mountains.

We spent two nights in a one bedroom cottage here and we very satisfied with our stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious, with everything a visitor could need for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting accommodation options that were the most useful to us rather than what we would pay most for. The resort is very conveniently placed for exploring local fjords, mountains etc. It's great for families, offering a warm pool and a large playing area with complicated climbing structures, inflatables, slides and play houses for children to enjoy.

The reception is good. In the entrance, we discover large rooms with large leather armchairs on which you can rest. The room assigned to us is upstairs, at the end of the building from the street. She is surprising. First of all, it is a very large room, furnished with several leather armchairs, with another single bed and an original piece of furniture. There are windows running the length of the room which are covered with large curtains. The view overlooks the fjord. Then, at the foot of the bed, there is a large television set facing the living room area and, attached to that, another smaller one facing the headboard. The bathroom is large and pleasant. The hotel is located in a quiet area and we heard no noise at night. Breakfast, which is taken in the hotel’s large dining room, is well stocked. A little less probably than the other hotels we have had. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but it's possible. There are several options for a quick bite to eat very close to the hotel. For our part, we chose the Dampskipskaien café-bar, on the edge of the fjord, about a hundred meters from the hotel. Friendly, there are a lot of young people there. It's not a real restaurant. Note a choice of original beers. With a car, it is possible to park in front of the hotel or to the side, or even in the neighboring streets. The car park does not belong to the hotel and is therefore chargeable, at the most common rate in Norway (less than €2 per hour), but only during the day. It is free from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. We only spent one night in this hotel. It's a pleasant stopover before starting a day, for example by going by ferry to Kaupanger (the pier is really close and you can see a beautiful wooden church just before arriving there).
