The hotel hasn't done any maintenance in the rooms in years. Our room smelled like mold, and humidity.
The shower kept changing temperature, sign of a bad water heater, and had sewage smell coming from the drainage. On our first night, the light switch in the bathroom started smoking and doing sparks everywhere - if we hadn't been there to call the reception right away, it would have been a severe fire hazard.
The location is quite good as it is right on the lake, and Is a nice walk in the morning.
The cleaners woke us up at 6.30 AM because they were slamming doors and screaming.
I think this hotel is a 3star and not 4

We are family of three. Two adults and one child. We were given 2 single beds. My husband and child had to sleep on the floor. We couldn't put the beds together as it was fixed. Couldnt get another room as they were full.
The room was overdone. Two dressing tables , two big arm chairs, dining table & chairs etc., big spacious room but too many furniture making it uncomfortable.
When we informed the front office manager , he said it wont happen next time. Well, we are not too sure if qe wont to stay here though.

Very nice hotel, not far from Kandy's city center. We actually walked into town one day along the 2 lane winding road. The pool is very nice, there is a weight room to work out and a spa if you want a massage. Its very peaceful, has a nice view of nature and a nice little bar with some quality cocktails. If you are going to Kandy and you don't mind being a bit outside the city, this is a real good spot. I would post more pictures, but the site limits the size and its a lot of effort to shrink a photo just post it here.

All facilities and services are good, local chain, quality control management is also online.
The richest and most delicious breakfast in Sri Lanka. It has its own independent parking lot and swimming pool. Very cost-effective

We loved our stay at the cinnamon citadel. The hotel and the amazing pool were perfect for relax time after sightseeing the area. The view was amazing and calm. The service was impeccable, we enjoyed dinner and music every evening and finally stayed longer than planned.
Amaya hills Kandy located within scenic mountain ranges in the heritage charm of the kingdom of Kandy. The Amaya Hills Kandy has the architecture and charm and culture of the city of Kandy ruled by the last Sinhalese king Sri Vikrama Rajasinha (1780-1832) till 1815 when the British deposed him and was succeeded by Gerrge III after holding out against colonial powers the Dutch and the Portugese
The Amaya Hills reception has a Statue of the last king at the reception which is a huge open and deep balcony offering nearly 300 degrees of splendid views of the mountains
The hotel is complete with swimming pool and the breakfast and dinner we had were splendid and had many authentic Sinhalese dishes..
The rooms are open to a balcony and it is a treat to have tea viewing the magnificent mountains..
The level of hospitality matches the famed Celonese hospitality
and will be remembered for long and a must experience in Sri Lanka visit..
I have to say, this hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Sri Lanka. It's only been open for 3 years, so everything is new. The hotel is in the form of a tree house, which is very unique, but there is no need to worry about safety issues. There are CCTVs everywhere in the hotel, and the hotel will ensure your safety. The hotel is very private, with only ten rooms in total, so it doesn't feel crowded or noisy at all, which is very suitable for vacation. The swimming pool is also very clean and the night view is beautiful. I would recommend this hotel to any friend who is going to Sri Lanka. Although it is not the most expensive hotel in my trip, it is the best and most impressive hotel. It’s really a treasure hotel~ I hope its business will get better and better^btw The breakfast is a set menu, which is delicious and rich~

It's a little far from the city center, it's a little inconvenient to build roads next to it. It's about 3.3 kilometers to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, but the facilities are very good. The standard rooms we ordered gave the suites and triple rooms as well as the beautiful pool. The scenery is very good, the area is green, and the service is excellent. Such a hotel is recommended.
Golden Ridge is a great hotel in the Nuwara Eliya area. It is newly opened. It is worth staying here to experience the different scenery in the mountains when you come to Sri Lanka's tea area🍵
Gorgeous view of the lake from our room, huge bathroom with picture windows, excellent breakfast and room service. Also very close to the Dambulla cave temple and Sigiriya.

GGuest UserThe owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely.
Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source.
The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue.
Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat.
The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross).
The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up.
The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good.
Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location.
Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!
MMeshulam YulzaryThe heritage Kandalama Hotel is in the heart of the Gungal near a lake. The hotel was designed with consideration and respect for the environment, the animals that live there and the nature that surrounds the hotel.
The room is cozy and well-equipped and includes a balcony overlooking the jungle. The infinity pool overlooks a lake where elephants and birds stay. We received a pleasant welcome from the hotel staff. The dining room is immersed in green and the breakfast is great. We received excellent service and personal attention from the entire staff at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel without luggage and they made sure to coordinate the arrival of the luggage for us.
We liked Nalinda the kind guide from the hotel who took us on a morning tour and since then we became friends. Nalinda took care of our well-being even after we left the hotel. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay. Definitely recommended for those who want to rest and relax in a dreamy place.
JJohnyAppleseedQuiet location in the middle of a tea plantation about 30 minutes drive from Nuwara Eliya.
Hotel had an age old charm retaining many of its colonial era features.
Carpeted and so mostly quiet at night apart from the occasional creaking with guests coming and going.
Good wifi and water supply.
We needed to use the heater at night but a comfy nights sleep otherwise with blackout curtains. Thank you Patmanathan for keeping our room clean and stocked up.
The grounds are well maintained and they have a lovely small garden.
They have tea tasting, nature walks, Horton Park guided walks as options for those interested.
The Spa had good options too and is very reasonably priced.
Highly recommended if you are staying in the area.
GGuest UserThis hotel is on the top of the mountain. The view is very good, the environment is OK, the building is very distinctive, including the decoration of the room, but the worst thing is that the hygiene is very worrying, the door is a bit old, the refrigerator is so dirty that you can't get it off, and there are stains under the toilet seat There were urine stains and hair on the bed. The bed was two beds pushed together and it was uncomfortable to sleep on. The quilt was a sheet and was too tight to pull out. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Fortunately, there was a blanket in the cabinet to cover it with. Regarding the food, it’s not good either.
GGuest UserWe really enjoyed this establishment and were able to enjoy our last moments in Sri Lanka until the end thanks to a late check-out :)
All the staff are attentive, accommodating and efficient!
The buffet is varied and suitable for several types of palates.
The rooms are large, clean and well equipped.
The BIG plus of this hotel is the magnificent swimming pool which is at an ideal temperature!

GGuest UserI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The first thing that struck me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment I stepped through the doors. The lobby was elegantly decorated, creating a sense of luxury without being overly ostentatious.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the staff displaying a high level of professionalism and friendliness. They provided all the necessary information about the hotel amenities and services, making me feel well-informed and taken care of.
XXIANDONGGarden-style hotel, with beautiful scenery and large rooms. There is also a welcome ceremony when arriving at the hotel. There are not many people staying at the hotel. The most funny thing is that from the lobby to the room, the bottle car cannot pass the path smoothly. At that time, the design was not thoughtful. The overall feeling is that this hotel is a relatively high-end hotel in the local area, which is good in all aspects, but remember to give a little more tip, otherwise you can just shake your face and show it to you
