The reception desk was super welcoming. There were two girls on the desk, and I stood at the desk for at least like 10 seconds before they before I was standing there even though I said ”Ni Hao”. They look so miserable and couldn't even smile. The hotel must treat them so terribly.
The room wall was full black scratch marks every where. The hotel looks only 50% like the photo. The cleaner did the bare minimum, my sink was dirty and didn't even clean it.
Don't believe about the gym or amenities.
The only thing I like about the hotel is the location and the neighborhood. It feel very authentic and cozy neighborhood with lively students and nice fast local eateries. There is a cozy Cafe near by.

I'm so glad I started my Xi'an trip here. It really hit all the right spots, to the point where I seriously considered extending my stay for another day… but in the end, I decided to experience other hotels as well.
[Location] It's right by Yongning Gate, next to the city wall, perfectly avoiding the city's traffic jams, which is super convenient for those who rely on taxis for getting around. There's also a subway station nearby. Plus, there are tons of delivery options and amazing places to eat, from breakfast to dinner, snacks, bubble tea, BBQ, and late-night eats – you could literally spend all day just eating! It's also a pleasant walk to the Bell Tower.
[View] Pull back the curtains and there's the city wall. Whether it's the grandeur of the day or the dazzling lights at night, I could never get enough of it.
[Service] The service was absolutely fantastic! It's been a long time since I've experienced such heartwarming service. Every staff member was so enthusiastic and friendly, from the front desk ladies to the aunties in the restaurant. Everyone served with a smile and went out of their way to provide help within their means.
[Environment] (1) The decor, design, and murals really resonated with everyone; there are so many photo opportunities within the hotel itself. (2) Even if you don't have a city wall view room, the outdoor bar offers a spectacular view of the city wall. Sitting there watching the sunset, scrolling on your phone, and enjoying afternoon tea – it's incredibly cozy. (3) The small table in the triple room was perfect for ordering takeout with friends, happily eating and chatting, with Xi'an's city wall right outside the window. After a full meal, you can just lean back and feel completely content without even stepping out. However, if you're a workaholic and need to work overtime, the restaurant might be a more convenient spot. (4) The beds, pillows, and bath products were all very well-received.
[Facilities] The pillows, bedding, and toiletries were all highly praised.
[Activities] They offer airport pick-up and drop-off, a rubbings activity, free Hanfu rental, and there are many foreign guests as well.
[Heads-up] For city wall view rooms facing the road, because they primarily feature glass curtain walls and windows, you might hear the sound of motorcycles with loud exhausts. However, since it's not continuous, it didn't affect our sleep. But it could be a concern for those who are sensitive to noise or are very light sleepers. BUT! The front desk thoughtfully provides earplugs!
[Other] When I checked in, it felt like there weren't many guests. Perhaps it's because the price is relatively higher? Or maybe there are too many hotels in the vicinity, leading to intense competition and diverting some guests. However, with the amazing view + cultural experience + airport transfer + excellent service + great location + wonderful ambiance, I feel like it's hard to beat.

A delightful surprise during my trip to Xi'an, absolutely loved my stay!
I chose this hotel for my visit to Xi'an, and it exceeded my expectations. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to get to all the attractions. The room decor is stylish, clean, and cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I slept soundly all night. The front desk staff were warm and helpful, even giving me great tips for exploring the city. The cleanliness was impeccable, which made my stay feel both safe and pleasant. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Xi'an!

Excellent hotel. Very clean, super friendly staff, and great central location. Breakfast is very good and laundry service is a big plus.
The team is wonderful and will help you with everything, even using a translator for international travelers.
100% recommended.

Had a fantastic stay here!
I was traveling solo and booked a more affordable windowless double room. However, the ventilation system was always on, so it never felt stuffy at all. For a traveler who's out exploring all day and just needs to crash at night, it was incredibly good value for money.
The room itself was very spacious, about 20-30 square meters. Every area was clean and tidy, and the hairdryer and water heater worked perfectly.
What's more, I noticed the hotel provides two types of pillows – a soft cotton one and another slightly firmer one with something like buckwheat inside. You can really tell the hotel puts thought into their guests' comfort.
Also, the front desk staff were incredibly responsible and attentive. They made sure to note down every guest request. When I went out, I told them my luggage was on the sofa and asked them not to move it when cleaning the room. They actually wrote it down in their notebook – truly an excellent hotel.
The location is also great. It's just a few hundred meters from the subway station, and Zhang Xueliang's Residence is a mere five-minute walk away. So, I was basically neighbors with the Young Marshal for a couple of days, haha!

For my trip to Xi'an, I chose the Dongshe Hotel, and its location is absolutely unbeatable, right near the Bell Tower, making it super convenient to visit the Muslim Quarter and Drum Tower. But what surprised me most wasn't the location, but their attention to detail in service. I have to praise the housekeeping; the humidifier in the room was such a thoughtful touch, especially great for those traveling during season changes or to dry areas – my skin didn't feel tight all night. Every staff member I interacted with, from the friendly front desk team at check-in, to the housekeeping auntie, and the restaurant staff, was incredibly sincere and enthusiastic. It wasn't just a professional smile; you could genuinely feel they were dedicated to helping you. The overall experience was fantastic; not only was my stay comfortable, but it also lifted my spirits. The daily afternoon tea and 'goodnight sweet soup' were also thoughtfully prepared. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Xi'an; it's definitely worth staying here.

I really enjoyed my stay here! It was so stress-free traveling with kids. First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's easy to get to attractions like the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Furong Garden, and there's a subway station nearby with a supermarket and mall, which was perfect for grabbing essentials and meals with the little ones. The hotel service was exceptionally warm and thoughtful; they had even prepared kids' slippers and toiletries beforehand – the attention to detail was top-notch. The room was very spacious, giving the kids plenty of room to play, and the bed was so soft, everyone slept soundly. The cleanliness was impeccable, with every corner spotless. The staff were always friendly and greeted my kids, and we weren't disturbed at all at night. Overall, the experience was fantastic. This is definitely my first choice for family travel, and I've already saved it for future reference!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's the best hotel near Chuangxin Port!! The commute is super convenient, the service is excellent, and it's very close to the university. The best part is the room design – it's incredibly well-thought-out! There's a fridge, a desk, a huge shower head, and even a separate vanity mirror and dressing table! Ji Hotel really understands what guests need!

The room was really spacious with a great view. I loved that the shower and toilet were separate, and the sink was outside, which made it super convenient to use. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were soft and perfect for a good night's sleep. The window ventilation worked wonderfully. The front desk staff, especially the lady who checked us in, was so helpful and even upgraded our room type, making our stay extra comfortable. Public transport, both buses and the subway, is easily accessible nearby, and there are plenty of malls and snack shops within walking distance, which was very convenient. The hotel itself has a lovely ambiance, and the cleanliness was impeccable.

This was our first time in Xi'an, and we stayed at the R&T Hotel for 8 nights. Both of us were incredibly satisfied with the overall design, service attitude, cleanliness, and hotel location! The breakfast here also had a lot of choices, saving us the trouble of figuring out what to eat every morning. Oh, and the 3-second hot water dispenser in the room was super convenient. Choosing this hotel was truly a fantastic decision! 😊😊😊

GGuest UserI'm only getting around to writing this review now, after a trip before Chinese New Year, because the experience was truly memorable and worth savoring. The hotel's location is excellent; it's not far from attractions like the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Forest of Steles. On a good day, you can walk to them, or if you're feeling lazy, a taxi ride is quick. Getting to the Grand Tang Everbright City and Furong Garden is also smooth, whether by metro or taxi. The hotel's surroundings are very quiet, and once you enter the grounds, it feels like a private garden. Even in winter, you can see greenery all around, so I can only imagine how beautiful it must be during the other three seasons. What left the deepest impression was a young man from the hotel's concierge team. After my child and I finished our meal, we wanted to stroll around the courtyard. He proactively approached us, asking if we had eaten and where we planned to go. We told him we weren't going far, just exploring the courtyard. He enthusiastically informed us that there was an olive tree in the backyard personally planted by Premier Zhou, suggesting we look for it. We were pleasantly surprised and immediately decided to seek out this piece of history. Early on February 11th, we had booked a trip to the Terracotta Warriors. Since it was quite a distance, we rushed to the restaurant for breakfast right when it opened. As the elevator doors opened downstairs, it was the same familiar young man, greeting us with a cheerful 'Good morning!'... Throughout our stay, we encountered this diligent and hospitable staff member many times as we came and went. Even my child would proactively say hello to him, as if he were a familiar family member! The feeling of being welcomed like family truly slowly permeates and influences those around you. It's a shame he wasn't on duty the day we checked out, so we couldn't say goodbye in person. I have a small suggestion for the hotel's guest rooms: it would be best to provide plastic non-slip mats in the shower. The lack of non-slip slippers, with only cotton bathmats available, isn't enough to prevent slips in the shower. Moreover, showering barefoot isn't comfortable for most Chinese people, especially women and children. Sometimes, a non-slip item is much more practical than just a warning!

GGuest UserI brought my parents to Xi'an for a trip. The hotel provided a complimentary airport pick-up, and Master Ma (the driver) gave us a wonderful introduction to Xi'an's features along the way – excellent service! A special thanks to front desk staff member Shudan Yang, who was incredibly patient and attentive, and even gave me a free breakfast 🫰. The hotel environment is comfortable, clean, and tidy, and the breakfast was great 👍. My mom and dad said they had a wonderful and enjoyable experience. Many thanks to all the hotel staff 👍.
AAnonymous UserFacilities: The hotel is quite large and located right by the city wall. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: A food street is right outside the door. Service: The service attitude was excellent. They offered a free room upgrade, provided breakfast, and check-in and check-out were convenient and quick. They even gave a small gift. I will definitely come again next time.

GGuest UserThis was my first stay at an Ibis hotel, and what impressed me most was how clean and tidy everything was. Although the bathroom was a bit small, it was spotless. The room didn't have a shower cap, but you could pick one up at the front desk. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I slept really well. Hot water came quickly. The shower head and breakfast weren't particularly great, but the overall cleanliness and tidiness more than made up for these minor shortcomings. The front desk staff were also very enthusiastic and friendly, even giving out small gifts.
JJohnTingThis is more than a hotel. It is a sanctuary in the middle of bustling Xi'an.
We were always welcomed with a warm smile by the staff daily.
The hotel was tastefully designed and exuded warmth and calmness. The clever use of earthly colours and heavy accent on the usage of timber created an inviting atmosphere.
The usage of lightings to highlight certain objects while casting shadows around said objects created an impression of an art gallery.
One word to describe this hotel.... LOVELY!!!
The butler service in servicing breakfast, afternoon tea and supper was highly appreciated.
One added bonus for me was that I was able to photograph Bell Tower in peace and luxury at the top open deck.
Highly recommended this hotel for relaxation and also photographing Bell Tower

TTinaMThis is a lovely hotel with kind, welcoming staff. I read some reviews saying the rooms are very old etc, but I don't see how that makes this hotel any less great - the rooms are still clean and well maintained. I arrived in Xi'an after 48 hours of hectic traveling due to a missed train, and the staff at Meihao Hotel were very welcoming, were happy to use translation apps to communicate with me. The room was large, with a view of the neighbourhood outside (mostly just traffic jams haha, but that's Xi'an). The location may not be super ideal for some as it isn't in the city centre, but honestly it was no inconvenience at all, as the nearest subway station is a brisk walk away -- about 5-7 minutes. If you're arriving by train and carrying a lot of heavy luggage, then yes, coming via subway might be a bit of a challenge (but not impossible!)
The housekeeping staff especially were very warm and kind. Thank you for always brightening my day when I walked by you all.
A few hours after I checked in, a lovely staff member knocked on my door and offered me a small bowl of soup. I was very confused as I hadn't ordered anything, but upon seeing other guests were receiving this too, I gladly accepted. It was such an unexpected, kind gesture -- this hotel truly knows how to make one feel welcome.
I fell ill on the second day of my stay, and thankfully the room was so comfortable, I could recuperate well. My only complaint is that the bedsheets, comforter, pillowcases etc -- all the bedding essentially smells of cigarette smoke. I could also smell cigarette smoke from beyond my room's door at night. This was despite there being a clear sign in the room saying smoking was not allowed inside. Though this is certainly not something you can fault hotel staff for (if guests are adamant to smoke inside, what can housekeeping possibly do?), I just thought I would mention this for any other guests who might be very sensitive to the smell, perhaps you could request staff to rewash the bedding until the smoke smell is entirely gone.
After checking out, I also noticed there were some freebies that were part of my booking that I unfortunately missed out on :( There was meant to be welcome fruit, afternoon tea for two and a midnight snack, which I would have loved to try. There was no welcome fruit offered, but I did receive some refreshing juice when I arrived to check in -- it was a hot day and I was grateful for the welcome drink. For the other stuff, as I didn't realise it was part of the booking perks, I never asked, and consequently seem to have missed out.
I also want to say that aside from the rooms, the lobby area is quite lovely -- very tastefully decorated, peaceful, and I even saw they had some free coffee out for guests! I only noticed this when I was checking out though, and my taxi was already on the way to pick me up, so I could not indulge. Maybe it would be helpful if the reception staff could share all this info with guests when they check in, especially with the foreign guests who are already a bit confused and trying to get their bearings ^-^ Just a suggestion! Thank you for a nice stay. I will definitely be back again soon.
AAnonymous UserTo start with, this hotel far exceeded our expectations and created truly wonderful memories for our anniversary.
The staff were incredibly thoughtful; they decorated our room beautifully in advance and even gifted us fresh flowers 💐 – such touching attention to detail.
Every day during our stay, we received a fresh and abundant fruit platter. On the first night, they thoughtfully delivered a white fungus soup, and on the second, a red date soup. Both were perfectly sweet, smooth, and absolutely delicious.
Located within the Huaqing Palace scenic area, the hotel offers an elegant and tranquil environment that truly helps you relax and unwind.
The breakfast selection 🍳 was rich and tasty, and dinner was equally excellent. The overall dining experience was a big plus. (There's a shuttle service from the lobby to the restaurant and attractions within the park, though it's also a very short walk.)
The location is incredibly convenient. We could walk to see 'The Song of Everlasting Sorrow' in about 3 minutes, and Mount Li was also within walking distance.
Our room booking included access to the Huaqing Hot Springs, and the hot spring experience was fantastic, making our entire trip even more relaxing and enjoyable.
Overall, it's a high-quality hotel that excels in service, ambiance, and overall experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back!
Once again, a big thank you to all the hotel staff involved 🌹
CCharroteThe room was spacious and well-equipped, very clean, and the service was attentive. The restaurant was large with a rich breakfast spread, and the impressive front desk lobby is on the sixth floor. The only minor drawback was the bathroom design: the shower door opened inwards, making the toilet area feel cramped and inconvenient. However, the smart toilet was excellent and high-tech.

MM548724****The hotel facilities are good and it's clean. The bed is really soft and comfortable. The cleanliness is quite satisfactory; there are no stains on the bedding, and the floors are clean. The hotel is conveniently located near Keji Road subway station, making transportation quite easy. They also offer complimentary afternoon tea with black tea and parking vouchers.

What an amazing stay here at the Intercontinental, stayed here for 4 nights in the Deluxe King room.
Arrived and checked in late at 12AM, the staff were pleasant and respectful, quick and got me settled in.
The staff were very attentive and service just impeccable - consistent in greetings at each turn and always double even triple checking if you require and help.
Room: 8/10
The rooms are clean, and cleaned on a daily. The cleaning lady was incredibly attentive, on the first night I asked for more water as the room only came with two, consistently day after day they left 4 bottles for me which was really appreciated on my part - it’s a minor thing but it really elevates the experience.
Room is quiet, can’t hear a thing from the opposite rooms. Occasionally there are some sounds from the door but it’s really unnoticeable.
Shower; the only reason why i didn’t give it full marks. Maybe it’s personal preference but the water does not seem to get hot enough, the water pressure on the shower head seems a bit lacking. Nevertheless though, don’t let that deter you from booking as it’s still an overall great stay.
Tub; no complaints, water runs hot, what better way to relax and kick back after a day of being a tourist and walking 20k.
Location: 10/10
I think this one is completely subjective to personal preference. The location is in the midst of white collar working towers so there is quite a bit of traffic. There is a subway station close by as well -though I never used it as I took a Didi 100% of the time.
A mall is nearby within walking distance but again didn’t go. Most commutes by didi take 20-30 minutes due to the traffic but honestly looking at the Westin or other hotels in prime tourist locations (ex. Pagoda , bell tower etc) there is sooo much traffic and noise as they have so many different activities happening there. For me this location have me back some silence after a long day out.
Atmosphere: 10/10
The hotel is beautifully decorated, cleaned throughout. Jo Malone fragrances in every elevator. It was such a relaxing atmosphere to be in.
Breakfast: 10/10
If you can, give the breakfast a try. There’s a huge variety of Xi’an delectables you can try, from the roujiamo, liangpi etc that are available plus a mixture of western food. The staff I must commend once more are incredibly attentive and always try to make your experience better.
Final thoughts - highly recommend the intercontinental Xi’an for your next stay. I truly enjoyed it and would recommend it for those coming for a 5 star experience!
