The room was clean and tidy, and it was cleaned twice a day with water replenished promptly. Most importantly, it's very close to Lotte Duty Free, so after shopping, you can drop off your purchases at the hotel and continue shopping. It's also very near Myeongdong Food Street, making shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel even gave chocolates and a small dress to our child during check-in. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Seoul.

Let's start with the pros: 1. The hotel's location is excellent, right behind Shinsegae Department Store, and only about a 5-minute walk to Myeongdong shopping street. 2. There's a subway station downstairs, and the surrounding area offers plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. 3. The hotel's style leans more towards medieval Baroque. If you're not particularly fond of this somewhat quirky decor, I'd suggest reconsidering. However, for a unique travel experience, this hotel is definitely a plus. 4. There are three Michelin-starred restaurants right on the hotel's upper floors, making it very convenient for food lovers. Cons: No significant issues with the hotel. Worth staying, haha!

I booked this room for 2300 a night with a friend. I saw some bloggers on Xiaohongshu saying the rooms were small and the ceilings were low, but honestly, it wasn't too bad (maybe because it was my first time staying at a 5-star hotel, so I don't know how good other 5-stars are). I'd recommend booking an afternoon tea on Naver. After checking in, change and enjoy afternoon tea. In the evening, the lobby has a total old money vibe, perfect for photos. If you're only staying one night, I highly recommend it, especially if you can get a good price! We originally booked a room with a regular view, but the front desk offered us a Namsan view room, though it was next to the elevator. They asked if we were okay with it, and we immediately said yes. However, if you're a light sleeper, definitely don't agree to it, because from around 6 AM onwards, you can hear the elevator going up and down.

Just a heads up – the hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so you'll need to buy them yourself or from the hotel. The environment is clean and hygienic. Also, there's no complimentary water, you have to buy your own. The sink and desk are a bit on the small side. On the flip side, the lobby has a really stylish design!

The Korean receptionist at the front desk had a terrible attitude during check-in. There was a Caucasian guest in front of me, and after he was done, the Korean man kept his head down, doing something on the computer. I waited for him to finish, but he just kept clicking away without looking up. After waiting for a while, I handed him my passport to check in. It was around 4 PM, and we wanted our two rooms on the same floor. He then started 'processing' our check-in, clicking on the computer for a very long time without any explanation. I must have stood there for at least five minutes. My friend eventually got impatient and asked him why it was taking so long, telling him to 'hurry.' Only then did he say he was arranging the floors. After that, he quickly finalized everything. One room was ready for immediate check-in, and the other was waiting to be cleaned.

This stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel's location is excellent, close to shopping districts and transportation hubs, making getting around very convenient. The room was meticulously cleaned, odor-free, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The mattress was just right, not too soft and not too hard, ensuring a good night's sleep. Not a bad hotel. The most convenient thing about it is the 24-hour CU (convenience store), whose staff are always friendly and polite. Now I have to mention the downsides, which, to be honest, I wasn’t prepared for at all. The first and main drawback is that I was supposed to get an Executive class room. However, instead, I stayed in a Deluxe class room. Let me clarify right away: I had previously stayed at the Swiss Grand Hotel under the Play&Stay package, which means I didn’t know what room category I would be given until the very end. To make things easier for me and avoid having to check out and check back in, they gave me one standard room for the entire stay. You can imagine my surprise when I found out that my new friend, who also checked in under Play&Stay for the same dates as me, was given an Executive class room – even though she checked in later. So basically, I could have been staying in better conditions. When I received my voucher from Trip.com and saw that it listed a room like my friend’s – nothing like what I actually got – I went to the front desk. The administrator just smiled and shrugged. All he said was, 'You agreed to stay in that room.' Yes, I agreed, but no one told me about any alternatives at check-in… And the situation was NOT resolved at all. That said, I can’t say the conditions in the Deluxe Room were bad (otherwise I wouldn’t have let it slide). It was quite cozy, spacious, and overall pleasant to stay in. That said, one day, the person in charge of housekeeping apparently decided I didn’t need to take a shower, so they removed the shower gel container for a whole day (luckily, I had brought travel-sized ones with me, even though I had hoped I wouldn’t need them). Other than that, everything was fine, and even that somewhat questionable attitude from the staff didn’t ruin my vacation.

I stayed here for a 2-day, 1-night trip to Seoul ☺️ It was my first time staying at Novotel Ambassador Suites, and I was really satisfied! It's directly connected to Yongsan Station and IPark Mall, making it super convenient to get around. I stayed in a Junior Suite, and the room condition was excellent, with a fantastic view from the room! The city view of the Han River and Seoul's downtown was truly impressive. The location of New Seoul is excellent, with subway lines 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 nearby. There's a very enthusiastic woman at the front desk who speaks Chinese. You can only top up your Wowpass at the front desk, not your Tmoney. There's a conveniently located Olive Young not far from the hotel. Cheonggyecheon Stream is just a 3-5 minute walk away, perfect for an evening stroll. Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung Palace are about a 15-minute walk, and you can exit through the side gate of Gyeongbokgung to reach Bukchon Hanok Village. Myeongdong is also roughly a 15-minute walk, and Lotte Duty Free is very close to the hotel. The bedding is very comfortable.

Originally, I booked a hotel in Gangnam, but considering factors like shopping and sightseeing, I decided to switch to Voco Myeongdong at the last minute. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. In terms of service, from the front desk reception to the lounge, the swimming pool, and breakfast, every staff member was smiling and dedicated to providing excellent service. It was really good. For dining, the breakfast selection was extensive and the food tasted great. Enjoying a hot bowl of Vietnamese pho in the morning was very comforting. The lounge also had a good selection; happy hour offered three hot dishes, along with cold platters, desserts, drinks, and alcoholic beverages, all of high quality. The room was also quite satisfactory. It was well-equipped with all sorts of amenities. The first round of the mini-bar was complimentary every day, and the quality was decent. The smart toilet and bathtub were very convenient. There were also USB and Type-C chargers. The only minor issues were that the USB charging port seemed to be of poor quality and often disconnected. The 0.8m bed was a bit narrow, and there was a slight risk of falling off when turning over. Also, upon check-in, there were two bottles of shampoo and one conditioner in the shower, and I had to inform the front desk to get a bottle of body wash sent up. Furthermore, the swimming pool closes quite early, at 8:00 PM. The location is truly excellent. There's a subway station and several bus stops right downstairs. From the lounge, you can directly see Namsan Tower. Namdaemun Market is right across the street, and it's a direct walk to Lotte and Shinsegae Duty-Free Department Stores, as well as Myeongdong's main shopping street, making it very convenient for shopping. The hotel also has a GS25, Burger King, and coffee shops, making it incredibly easy to grab a bite or a drink. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time.

Taking the 6015 bus from Incheon Airport T1 is super convenient as it drops you right at the hotel entrance. For the return trip, you can catch the bus from the same stop, it's a loop service back to the airport. The hotel is also very close to the subway, which is a big plus. We booked a total of five nights, with four nights in one room and the other night separately. Both rooms were identical. They were spacious enough, and the toiletries were complete, though the slippers were a bit thin. The toilet's refilling sound was a bit loud, and I didn't like that the bathroom exhaust fan couldn't be turned off. The pillow situation was a bit awkward too, with one low pillow and two high ones. On the positive side, all the staff members were numerous and very diligent.

The downside is that there were former employees striking outside the hotel the entire time. It seems this hotel treats its staff very poorly. The daily room cleaning was also done very late, probably because they laid off so many employees. For these reasons, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The location, however, is excellent. It's super convenient for getting to major shops in Myeongdong like Olive Young (though a bit far from the duty-free shop). The subway station is right downstairs, and there's also a very large 7-Eleven downstairs with spacious seating for instant noodles. Other stores like GS25 are also nearby, and a 12-story Daiso is just across the street. The hotel doesn't provide disposable dental kits, so you can just buy them directly from Daiso. Myeongdong Cathedral is right behind the hotel, and there are quite a few historical attractions in the vicinity. Luggage storage is very convenient, and check-in is self-service.

First off, this is a legitimate hotel, not a guesthouse or a self-built inn. It has all the standard hotel amenities. It's definitely a suitable place to stay. Now, regarding the location, don't trust some of the online guides. This area isn't a commercial district or where tourists would typically want to go. It's a wholesale market hub, much like Beijing's Zoo Market or Chengdu's Lotus Pond Market – places that open at night for stocking up and close during the day. Within a two-kilometer radius, there are tens of thousands of tailor shops. Of course, there are some malls that are open during the day, but they're very few, so it's not recommended for tourists to stay here. I chose this place because I was returning to China from Busan, wanted a good night's rest, and needed to go to Gimpo Airport the next day. For everyone else, it's probably best to stick to hotels near Myeongdong; having Lotte Department Store right outside is the way to go. The hotel doesn't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste; you have to buy them from a vending machine. They really don't offer them at all, unlike other hotels where they might not actively provide them but will give them to you if you ask, like a razor. The two beds are roughly the size you'd find in a student dormitory. The breakfast *looked* like it would be good, but the reality was that it ended at 10 AM, with last entry at 9:30 AM. I went around 8:40 AM, and all that was left was sliced bread, sliced baguette, and instant noodles. As for scrambled eggs, bacon fried rice, which should have been there, I didn't see any – they were gone by at least 8:30 AM, and they didn't restock at all. The small pots for dishes in my pictures were all empty. I only managed to eat four small mushrooms. The hotel description mentioned sausages and other items, but there was absolutely nothing. In the end, I had a cup of instant noodles and a glass of grape juice.

This hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip to Korea! The quad room was super comfortable for our family of four; we all slept soundly without disturbing each other. The room was also spacious enough for the kids to move around freely. The cleaning staff always greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly hello. Plus, Myeongdong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Bukchon Hanok Village were all within walking distance. And having a washer/dryer in the room was incredibly convenient! I didn't encounter any front desk staff who spoke Chinese, but simple English communication was fine. The only downside was that for our last three nights, we had Chinese neighbors who were incredibly loud. The woman would literally shout when she talked, as if she wanted everyone to know her secrets! Seriously, when you're traveling abroad, it's important to be mindful of your behavior!

I had actually noticed this hotel before. I used to stay at a hotel nearby and even came into this one specifically to take photos with the super-sized Brown bear in the lobby. So, before this trip, I made sure to look it up, and to my surprise, I was lucky enough to book a themed room! They said it would be a random rabbit or bear theme, but I was so fortunate to get my favorite Brown bear themed room. Check-in was at 3 PM, but I arrived at 2:20 PM and they actually let me check in early. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and always greeted me politely when I entered or left. The themed rooms are all on the 14th floor, and as soon as you step out of the elevator, you're greeted by adorable plushies. The room itself was incredibly cute, like stepping into a fairy tale and becoming good friends with Brown bear. The giant Brown bear on the sofa was super cute, and I also loved the blue sofa, though it showed some signs of age. The room facilities were all great, especially the TV channels – there were so many! For someone like me who loves to stay in the hotel, this was fantastic. There were even three or four channels with Chinese dramas, and even more movies and Korean dramas. The bathroom facilities were also good. I really liked that the bathtub and shower were separate; I don't like showering while standing in a tub. The only downside was that the exhaust fan was a bit noisy. I also have to praise their housekeeping speed. At other hotels, sometimes you put up the 'clean my room' sign and it doesn't get cleaned for hours, but here, it was always done very quickly and was spotlessly clean. I was particularly satisfied with this.

Facilities: Fully equipped, there's a 7-Eleven downstairs and a laundry room, though a bit more expensive than in Japan. There's also a gym next to the laundry room. Cleanliness: Clean, tidied daily. Environment: Located in a bustling area, which is great and convenient, but the soundproofing could be better. Service: Arrived early and they arranged luggage storage. The front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made things very comfortable. Overall: The price was reasonable, about 3400+ for 4 nights, so it offers pretty good value for money.

Hotels in Seoul can be pricey, but this one definitely delivers on quality and service. The room's design is well-thought-out and practical, with all the necessary amenities. I was really happy with the bedding. The small balcony was a pleasant surprise, offering an unexpected view of N Seoul Tower! The location is absolutely unbeatable. You can walk to Myeongdong and Dongdaemun, and it's surprisingly quiet despite being in the heart of the city. With subway stations both in front and behind the hotel, getting anywhere in Seoul is a breeze. The bus stop for Incheon Airport is just a 4-minute walk away, and with its long operating hours, it makes getting to and from the airport incredibly convenient and comfortable.

Location: This hotel was very close to Seoul station (15 minutes by car). Euljiro station (10 minutes walking distance). Attractions: 1. MYEONGDONG-Everything is at Myeongdong including the banana milk at Olive Young; Laneige stores, a thrift store; the food street with the new crocs-style cake, chicken skewers; and great Korean fried chicken 🍗, tteokbokki and fishcakes, and the marshmallow ice cream. 2. The tourist information centre is about 200m from the hotel. Here, you get information and maps and overall clear direction. The staff is very helpful. 3. Great restaurants like KUT (quite literally around the corner), and a Michelin restaurant about 400m away as well as salad bar and coffee shops. 4. Shinsegae 5. A river runs infront of the hotel 6. Historical museums and parks The actual hotel and room: The hotel was very easy to find and the receptionist was helpful. The food was nice; there was enough veggies and the eggs smelled alright. They did not have a tea selection unfortunately but the soup tasted quite nice although I am not sure what it was-maybe creamed corn and potato. The room was alright and looked just as pictured but it initially smelled like a rat died on the rug(that could be because it had no windows and felt a bit suffocating but the developing plot area beside the hotel kinda also smelled like that). It became less obvious on day 2. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel.

The room size was just right, not too big, not too small, and it had a balcony with a great view for watching the sunrise – absolutely stunning! I’ve uploaded pictures of the view at different times of the day for everyone’s reference. The transportation is incredibly convenient; there are several subway lines right downstairs to choose from, and as soon as you step out, there are all sorts of dining options. The mall is also right downstairs, making it super easy to buy anything you need! Most importantly, I love to run, and this hotel is very close to Cheonggyecheon Stream, which is a dream come true for running enthusiasts! It's a 5km one-way run, making it 10km round trip! Fantastic! The hotel breakfast was also a highlight; the fried chicken, noodles, and mixed salads were absolutely delicious! Plus, the front desk staff were very friendly. When we arrived, there was even a guide who spoke Chinese, which was very nice! I'll definitely choose this place again next time! Unforgettable Seoul, you brought me endless surprises!

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the airport shuttle bus, subway, Lotte Department Store, and the main street of Myeongdong. Just a short walk from the hotel, across the street, is Lotte World, and opposite Lotte World is the beginning of Myeongdong Shopping Street. A little further past Lotte is the subway station. Downstairs, there are two convenience stores, a GS25 and a 7-Eleven, making it very convenient for buying things. The hotel staff were enthusiastic and answered all our questions. The room was cleaned daily and kept spotless. We stayed on the 11th floor in mid-August, and the Korean lady who cleaned our room was incredibly warm, polite, and always smiling. She noticed we only had two bottles of mineral water and went out to buy more, so the next day, she left four bottles, which was very thoughtful. The hotel breakfast is on the 17th floor; it's not huge but offers a good variety. The salads, vegetables, bread, milk, fruit, and hot dishes all tasted great. The restaurant manager greeted us warmly every day. We felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. The hotel price is reasonable, making it a great choice for business trips or leisure travel to Seoul. Highly recommended!

Location is perfect and unbeatable! Good comfortable beds with decent sized room. However, the breakfast is absolutely awful. Toaster is broken, no sugar and poor service staff. Terrible and limited selection of food. Do yourself a favour and do not buy their breakfast. Quality is really bad! Also, the bathtub was small and high which was a danger to my mum. Lastly, front of hotel is a tiny slip road which Uber cabs do not wish to come in. Otherwise, do choose this just for location if nothing else.

The service here truly stands out; when we needed a taxi, the front desk attendant called one for us, which turned out to be much cheaper than using an app like Didi. Let's start with the positives, which are truly hard to ignore – the location is absolutely fantastic. It's right at the end of Myeongdong's main street, so stepping out means diving straight into the shopping crowds. To the right, you'll find the Olive Young Myeongdong flagship store, and across the street, there's Starbucks, Sushiro, and a CU convenience store. You'll never have to worry about finding late-night snacks or drinks. The hotel's public areas are also quite aesthetically pleasing. Transportation is also hassle-free. From the airport, you can take the 6015 luxury airport limousine bus directly to ”Seoul Royal Hotel/Euljiro 1-ga Station.” The stop is very close to the hotel. Just walk a few steps with your luggage, turn right at the small intersection, and walk up a slight incline for about a dozen meters, and you're there. However, a word of caution: during the peak summer season, there are a lot of people waiting for the bus. On our day, we queued outdoors for over an hour, hot and sunny, sweating non-stop. If you're traveling with elderly people or children, be prepared for this. Now, about the actual stay. The room was indeed on the smaller side, and with the summer peak season prices, the value for money wasn't great. The facilities show their age. What impacted our sleep the most was the refrigerator, which had noticeable noise. We ended up unplugging it both nights to get some peace and quiet. Also, on weekend evenings, the street music played until midnight. If you have high demands for your sleeping environment, I'd advise considering this carefully. In summary: if you're prioritizing convenient shopping and don't mind a small or dated room, spending most of your day out and just returning to sleep at night, then this place is a great fit. But if room comfort, a quiet environment, and value for money are more important to you, then you might want to compare a few more options. This is just my personal experience for your reference.

I took my daughter on a trip to Korea, and a friend recommended this hotel before we left. Although the price was a little high, I still booked it. **Transportation:** From Incheon Airport, if you don't have too much luggage, you can easily take the subway. It's very convenient. A subway ticket is around 5,000 Korean won, which is cheaper than a bus ticket. After exiting the subway, it's about an 8-minute walk to the hotel. **Service:** There's a young man at the front desk who can communicate in Chinese. The staff clean the rooms daily and provide two bottles of water in the fridge. Everyone is very polite. **Amenities:** There's a power outlet on the desk that accepts plugs from my home country (only one, see my photo). There's a slow-charging Type-C port by the bed. The room has a mini-fridge, hairdryer, and kettle. The hotel lobby has a self-service currency exchange machine where you can exchange RMB for Korean won (cash only, no Alipay, etc.). However, the exchange rate is slightly higher than at home. **Dining:** Behind the hotel, there's a food street. There are many reviews on Xiaohongshu. I tried chicken soup, Lee Garden, potato and pork bone soup, and tteokbokki. All were delicious. The tteokbokki was very spicy. The portions were generous! **Local Transport:** I used the subway for all my travels (Gongdeok Station and Mapo Station are both accessible); I didn't use buses. Korea has shared bicycles, so those who can download the app might want to try it. Overall, the hotel is good. **P.S.:** Trip.com's service was also good. They helped me communicate with the hotel regarding my booking, which was very helpful.

Traveling during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the price was reasonable. Being a Japanese brand hotel, the room wasn't very big. You could open one 28-inch suitcase, but any more than that would be difficult. The twin beds could be pushed together to form a king-size bed, which is great for families traveling together. The bathroom and toilet in Japanese hotels are always excellent – spacious with a great wet/dry separation. The bathroom had a bathtub, and the tub and shower were combined, which is a fantastic design unique to Japanese hotels. The kids loved it. Front desk service was warm and welcoming. Seeing that we had children, they let us check in even though it was before the official check-in time. There are plenty of dining options near the hotel, including aged beef yakiniku, sashimi, fried chicken, convenience stores, and Olive Young. We stayed at Aloft by Marriott Myeongdong for 5 nights. The location is unbeatable - convenient 5 mins walk to the main Myeongdong shopping and eating area. Around 7 minutes walk to Lotte Department Store and Shinsegae. The staff at front desk are all very courteous and nice. The rooms are clean and tidy. One thing though they will not touch our personal things in the bathroom, such as my hair curler was laying on top of some dirty towels and upon returning to my room, my curler and the dirty towels were left at the same spot. But their service is excellent - the first night we stayed the air-con was too hot and changing the thermostat did not work. So we called reception and stated the issue. They promptly sent a technician up to help fix the air-con, which afterwards worked fine, and the rooms were cool and we all slept very well. There's not a whole lot of facilities except a small gym though. Overall, a very nice stay at this hotel where the staff are attentive and nice, and they all speak fluent English. Thanks to our butlers Xiaoyue and Ayu for their help during our stay. The first female receptionist at check-in had a fake smile. Even though I told her I didn't like the 14th floor, she insisted that only the room on the 14th floor could meet my request. I was exhausted from a red-eye flight, so I didn't know if it was truly the only available room (on a floor with a 4, which Koreans dislike), or for some other reason. I just didn't want to argue further and reluctantly checked in. Upon entering the room, there was a strong curry smell. I also saw a handwritten welcome letter for a foreign female guest prominently displayed on the bedside table (I'm not sure if this is for all non-Koreans or if this guest was exceptionally special). My mood instantly soured. I didn't know if the housekeeper hadn't cleaned properly or if this guest had moved rooms and they hadn't re-cleaned. I saw creases on the bedding, indicating it was newly changed. I was too tired, so I just forced myself to sleep. During the night, there were rumbling noises. The bathroom still smelled of curry, and I didn't have perfume, so I made a cup of capsule coffee to mask the smell. I still believe it's better to avoid trouble when traveling, so I stuck with the room and didn't ask for a change. The next morning, I was woken up by the strange noises again. Reluctantly, I communicated and got a room change. They offered a voucher for 2 takeaway drinks, but I didn't use it. Anyway, lately, when I go to Seoul, I always feel that their attitude towards Chinese people is much worse than before, in a subtle way. During check-in, I noticed what seemed like Hong Kong or Malaysian Chinese guests next to me who had checked into several rooms hours earlier. But for me, there were no rooms available. However, I couldn't verify if it was differential treatment or just bad luck that there were no rooms exactly when I arrived. Their rule is check-in at 3 PM, so I had to accept it. My offer to pay for early check-in was also declined. Comparing this to those who could check in early instantly dampened my mood. Aside from the hotel's service level, the location is quite good. All the front desk staff speak good English and are communicative. Jacob's English is especially excellent. There are also complimentary snacks and soda in the room. Speaking of complimentary items, there seemed to be a difference here too. The 'special guest' room the day before had two extra large cookies and two sparkling waters. Across the street, there's a BHC and a somewhat expensive but delicious soup restaurant. Exit 9 of Hongdae Line 2 has many small shops. It's not tiring to walk from the subway after finishing errands. There are many good eateries around. The airport bus 6007 to the airport even has a dedicated uncle who helps load your luggage, which is better than some other stops where only the bus driver can help with luggage, hehe. At over 1600 won a night, this hotel is not cheap for Seoul. While the hardware is what it is, the service could definitely be improved. For 800-1000 won, this hotel would be a good option. Beyond that, there are too many other alternatives. Also, don't trust the recommendations on Xiaohongshu; they're all ads. There are many great hotels in Seoul, but I won't tell you, or they'll get more expensive, ha ha ha.

It's only a few minutes' walk to the nearest subway station, and about a 15-minute walk to the Myeongdong shopping area, which isn't too far at all. Plus, there are plenty of local coffee shops right below the hotel.

Just a 2-minute walk from Gongdeok Station. It's recommended to use the exits with escalators (Exits 2, 7, and 9). The room was clean, and there was a long desk by the bedside, which was convenient for various tasks. Bath towels, face towels, bath mats, bathrobes, and other amenities were provided (and replaced with new ones during the second day's cleaning). The only inconveniences I felt were the absence of a clock and a humidifier. Also, on the second night, I needed ice due to feeling unwell, and when I asked the front desk, they said, ”The restaurant has closed, so we cannot provide ice.” Fortunately, there's a 7-Eleven on the first floor where you can buy it. There are three Olive Young stores nearby, which was very convenient as I could immediately take my purchases back to the hotel room. Gongdeok Station is also a stop for the Airport Railroad, making it very convenient for travel. You can reach Hongik University Station and Seoul Station with a single train ride.

I want to recommend Holiday Inn Express Hongdae to everyone after my stay! ✨ 📍 Unbeatable Location: Right next to Hongik University Station, right above AK PLAZA with direct Airport Railroad access. Shopping and nightlife are literally right at your doorstep. 🛏️ Standard Two Double Beds Room: The beds are super comfortable! Just the right firmness—the kind where you can naturally sleep in. Two queen/double beds mean zero disturbance from your travel companion. 🧼 Spotless Cleanliness: The room was immaculate, the bathroom was dry, and coming back every day felt like returning to a cozy, pristine haven. Great shopping + nightlife + good sleep—definitely the top choice in Hongdae!~

I stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Josun, Seoul Myeongdong for one night before flying out of ICN. My only requirement was that the hotel have easy access to the airport limousine route. While there is a stop a few steps from the hotel, we found that, given the time of our flight the following morning, we ultimately needed to use a different stop. We trekked the extra 10 minutes in the morning with our luggage, which was less than ideal, but ultimately worked out fine. The hotel was easy to access, tucked into a quiet corner of Myeongdong. While we arrived quite late in the evening, the staff was glad to receive us. The check-in instructions were simple and easy. We received a room on the 20th (I think) floor with a lovely view of the city. It was clean and well-appointed with space for four suitcases, which was necessary as we prepared to depart Korea with many new purchases. The famous Myeongdong walking street was only a 7-minute walk away, which is a major selling point. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a solo traveler, a pair, or a couple. The room is small, but clean, and the location is prime.

Gangnam Seoul|9.97km from city center
The hotel is located on Line 2 (Samseong-dong/COEX), right outside Exit 2 of the subway station. Exit 5, on the other side, leads to Hyundai Department Store, InterContinental Hotel, airport limousine bus stops, Starfield COEX Mall, and the Starfield Library. While not in the absolute core of Gangnam, its accessibility is quite high. The rooms are compact but have all the basic necessities. Cotton swabs, toiletries, and slippers are provided, but toothbrushes incur a charge. Late check-out also costs extra. The currency exchange machine downstairs only accepts cash and offers a very poor exchange rate, so it's not recommended. ATMs are available at the subway station and banks next to the hotel. The front desk staff speak fluent English and were generally helpful in resolving a minor issue during check-in. There are quite a few Chinese guests.

The room was great, located on the 23rd floor with a stunning lake view. When I booked, I selected a three-person meal option for two adults and one child. The price for a two-person meal and a three-person meal was different at the time of booking. However, upon arrival, the hotel informed me that one of the meals in my three-person package was a complimentary children's meal. Since my child is 13 years old, exceeding the 12-year age limit, they were not eligible for the free buffet breakfast, and I was asked to pay. To avoid disrupting our travel plans and mood, I paid for the meal. However, I find this explanation completely unacceptable. I purchased a three-person meal package, but at the hotel, it was treated as if I bought two meals and received one free. If I had known it was a complimentary meal from the hotel, why would I not just book the two-person meal package and save some money?! I urge Trip.com and the hotel to communicate and provide a satisfactory resolution.

The front desk staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The location is absolutely fantastic, right above a subway station, and within a 5-minute walk to several malls like the Hyundai Outlet. Myeongdong is just two subway stops away. The executive lounge terrace on the 10th floor offers a view overlooking Dongdaemun, which could save you a visit to the actual site. DDP is also within walking distance. The bedding was a bit soft. Downsides: The key card was a bit finicky.

We usually prefer to stay in Banyan hotel chain. We compare Seoul Banyan with Dubai & Phuket hotels. Seoul Banyan has the lowest points in our view. 1) toothbrushes for extra money 2) no bottled water, only desktop filter 3) hotel is old and crying for renovation. 4) breakfast options are so so (3 or 4 fix menu, + eggs). 5) No lobby. No fine dining restaurants. Concierge service is 0. Transfer to airport must be arranged a DAY before departure, we asked on morning for transfer at 17:00. Positive things : large territory with sport club, easy access by car to any part of city. Large room (we took swimming pool suite) with hot 2,5x2,5m pool with depth 30-40 cm. In general - we would not stay there again.

The room was clean and tidy. It was great that the mini-bar drinks were complimentary, and there were welcome snacks too. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, and surprisingly, the best thing was the gimbap! They could definitely add more variety. The location is fantastic; it's a 5-minute walk to Hyundai Department Store, and trendy Cheongdam-dong brands are within walking distance. There's also a subway station right downstairs! The Grand Walkerhill Hotel, a renowned and established hotel in Seoul, still maintains excellent quality and standards. From the lobby ambiance and public spaces to the overall environment, you can feel the stability and upscale feel of a mature hotel system. The hotel itself covers a large area, with many landscapes and facilities worth exploring slowly; it's not the kind of place you can fully experience in just one night. I particularly love the walking trails around the hotel; they are very green and offer a great sense of a vacation while strolling, providing a rare relaxing space within Seoul city. Transportation is also very convenient, with shuttle buses to and from the city center and airport limousines, which is very reassuring for tourists. Overall, it's a classic hotel with a sense of historical charm, yet the guest experience remains top-notch.

The service was excellent. I was able to check in right upon arrival, and the room on the floor I requested was available. The front desk even offered Chinese-speaking staff. There was absolutely no noise audible from the 18th floor. Getting around couldn't be easier. The entrance to Line 2 is directly across from the hotel entrance – practically in your face – making it super convenient to get anywhere. The pool was open from 6:30 AM to 10 AM, and I went for a swim every morning. It's not huge, but perfectly adequate. The elevators weren't an issue at all. You can transfer at the 24th-floor front desk or the 23rd-floor club. Every time the concierge saw a guest approaching, they'd swiftly press the elevator button in advance, so I never had to wait long. I ordered multiple takeaways every day, and the concierge reliably collected them for me. They were a lifesaver for late-night snacks!

Upon entering to check-in, there was no proactive greeting. The attitude during check-in was also just so-so. I chose this hotel specifically because it was advertised as a 'Chinese selection,' but I felt their attitude towards Chinese guests was indifferent. Other explanations were general, mainly emphasizing the 11 AM check-out time, warning of a penalty otherwise. Personally, I think the hot water issue, which I'll mention next, is more important than that. Aside from these points, the hygiene was acceptable. The facilities are a bit old. There's a convenience store nearby, and the bus stop downstairs is also very convenient.

Good experience over all. Very close to the Coex mall. Lobby is on 20 floor, which is different from others. Recently SamSung station has been remodeling, made it little noise when cars drive over the steel covered road. But it is reasonable price being in the center of Gangnam-gu. One of the pros was I made a reservation under my daugter's name, which I didn't recognised that time. they couldn't find the reservation a bit long time, and they was wrong where I booked it through. The trip.com.. not ***********. the room is clean. I would like to recommend to stay this hotel. Over all reasonable. There are many restuarants in the Coex mall and shopping spots too.

A special thank you to the hotel for allowing us a complimentary late check-out until 2:00 PM instead of the standard 12:00 PM. We truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet, providing a relaxing stay. One feature I especially loved was the water dispenser on our floor—it was a huge plus and very convenient. The hotel is super nice and worth it! From the staff and check-in to the room and hotel facilities, it's perfect for solo traveler coming to Seoul for concert (wink). The spa area with free laundry was a highlight! Like Dormy Inn in Japan, they serve hot ramen at night - again, perfect for solo traveler! The staff here speaks multiple languages so asking for help/services was definitely fine. The only downside is that this hotel is located pretty uphill, a lot of walking upslope from the nearest train station. Be careful if you are with heavy or big luggage - better take the airport bus 6703 to the hotel even it takes much longer time. And yes, please top up for breakfast - Dormy Inn's breakfast never disappoints me

The hotel's exterior is very grand, and the lobby is also great. However, the room is too small; there's barely enough space for two people to move around. The breakfast is quite good though, which somewhat compensates for the small room. You can take airport bus 6017 from Incheon Airport to Guro Digital Complex Station, and it's just a 2-minute walk across the road. I absolutely have to recommend the Mayone Hotel. Let me start with the only downside: the bathroom is a bit small. That's it! Everything else is top-notch. First, the location is unbeatable. I've traveled many times, and this is the first time I've stayed in a hotel right in the city center. The feeling of pure bliss when you're tired from shopping in Myeongdong and can walk a few hundred meters back to the hotel to rest is something you have to experience to understand. During my four-day stay, I practically returned to the hotel for a break almost every day before heading out again. Second, the hotel staff's service attitude is fantastic. I emailed them, and they replied very quickly and promptly. When we arrived in Korea, we weren't sure which bus to take to the hotel, so I emailed them, and I quickly got a reply. The hotel even specifically warned me to be careful, which was incredibly touching. Later, when we were leaving, I sent another email, and the hotel's reply brought tears to my eyes on the AREX train. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and dedication; my trip to Seoul, Korea, was made even better because of you! Finally, the hotel also cleans the trash daily, which seems to be quite rare in Korea, so it's worth mentioning! Last but not least, I wish the Mayone Hotel great success in business. If I ever come to Seoul again, I will still choose Mayone!!

I booked a twin room this time, and for someone like me who's used to a firm mattress, it was a bit too soft. The location is excellent, right by Jongno 3-ga Exit 14, which has an escalator, so it's less than a 2-minute walk. The room amenities include a TV (no YouTube or Netflix, but paid movies are available), air conditioning, a mini-fridge, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a safe, and a hairdryer. The room itself isn't huge, but the bathroom is a decent size, and there are plenty of outlets. Tips for Taking AREX in South Korea

A little preparation can make travelling between Incheon Airport and Seoul much easier.

  • Check your terminal: Confirm whether your flight uses Incheon Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
  • Choose the correct service: The Express Train and All-Stop Train have separate ticketing arrangements and entrances.
  • Prepare a transport card: T-money is useful for the All-Stop Train and other public transport.
  • Check the final departure: Travellers arriving late at night should verify the last train and its destination.
  • Keep your ticket ready: Express Train passengers need their valid ticket or QR code when using the entry gates.
  • Check your hotel location: Hongdae visitors may find the All-Stop Train more convenient than the Express service.
  • Allow time for transfers: Seoul Station is large, and walking between platforms can take additional time.
