What Is the Canton Fair?
The Canton Fair, officially called the China Import and Export Fair, is one of China's major international trade exhibitions. It has been held in Guangzhou since 1957.
The fair is jointly hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, with the China Foreign Trade Centre serving as the organizer.
It is held twice a year:
- Spring Session: April to May
- Autumn Session: October to November

Where Is the Canton Fair Held?
The Canton Fair is held at the:
China Import and Export Fair Complex
Address: No. 382 Yuejiang Zhong Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China
The complex is also commonly known as the Canton Fair Complex or Pazhou Complex. It covers around 1.55 million square metres, so checking your exhibition hall before arriving can save a lot of walking time.
The complex is divided into several areas, including Areas A, B, C and D.

Overseas buyers attending the Canton Fair should prepare:

How to Register for Canton Fair 2026
First-Time Buyers
If this is your first Canton Fair:
- Register for an account through the official Canton Fair Buyer Service System.
- Complete your personal information.
- Add your company information.
- Apply for an Overseas Buyer Badge.
- Upload the required passport, photo and business information.
- Submit your application for review.
- Save your registration or badge collection information after approval.
The official registration system accepts foreign passports for overseas buyer registration.
Returning Buyers
If you have attended the Canton Fair before:
- Log in using your existing account.
- Check that your passport and company information are still correct.
- Update your information if needed.
- Bring your existing Buyer Badge if it is still valid.

China Visa Requirements for Filipino Travelers
Filipino travelers using ordinary Philippine passports should check China's current visa requirements before their trip.
For visitors attending the Canton Fair for commercial or trade activities, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Manila lists the M Visa as the visa category for commercial trade.
The current basic requirements for an M Visa application include:
- Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity
- At least two blank visa pages
- Passport photocopy
- Completed China visa application form
- Recent passport photo
- Invitation letter from a Chinese business partner or trade fair
- Additional supporting documents when required
The official Manila visa information also states that first-time travelers to China may need additional financial or employment documents, such as bank records and proof of employment, business ownership, professional status or study.
China's Manila Visa Application Center now uses an online application process. Applicants complete the form and upload supporting documents online before submitting their passport and required documents after review.

How to Get From Guangzhou Airport to Canton Fair
Metro
Guangzhou Metro is one of the most practical ways to reach the exhibition area.
The Canton Fair Complex is served mainly by Metro Line 8.

I was attending the 12th International Invention Exhibition at the Canton Fair (Hall A, Building 3, 2nd Floor), and after browsing hotels in the vicinity, I ultimately chose Langham Guangzhou.
Our group of 7 booked 4 Executive Rooms, and everyone raved about their stay. It's about a ten-minute walk to Hall A; you need to go underground via Nanfeng International Convention & Exhibition Centre to the metro station, cross the road, and you're there.
The hotel staff were all uniformly and appropriately dressed, friendly, and accommodating, always ready to help.
The rooms were well-equipped with amenities, including a bathtub and a refrigerator. However, I do wish the sofa was a bit larger~
Breakfast is served buffet-style on the 4th floor of the lobby. The food options varied daily, and the rice noodle rolls were absolutely delicious – I ordered them almost every day. The strawberry milkshake was also quite good.
The Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor offers a beautiful and tranquil environment, and the balcony view is simply stunning (morning or night). We would head up to the 22nd floor for a relaxing break after finishing our daily activities. The lounge serves snacks and cocktails from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and beer is available until 11 PM.
Parking was complimentary throughout our stay; we just needed to inform the front desk staff before leaving, which was simple and convenient. There were plenty of parking spaces, and some even had charging stations for electric car owners.
The only minor issue I encountered was that the bedside power outlets were very loose. Please refer to the video in my review for details.
I just wrote whatever came to mind.

I've been busy for a long time, but I finally have a moment to write this review today. I've stayed at the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay before and was extremely satisfied with both the breakfast and the service, so when I came to Guangzhou, I didn't hesitate to choose the Westin again. However, it completely failed to meet my expectations. Perhaps because I was comparing it to the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay, the breakfast selection here seemed quite limited, and there's no comparison for the public areas.
Let's talk about the service! I mistook this hotel for another where I had redeemed welcome fruit with 1 point on Trip.com. So, when I didn't find any fruit in my room, I called the hotel. The way they communicated needs improvement, as it made me feel like they were trying to take advantage of me, almost insulted. Perhaps they realized their poor communication had upset me, so they reported it to the manager. Soon after, the manager called to say that welcome fruit had been arranged and might already be in my room. However, when I returned to my room that evening, there was no fruit. So, I called the hotel again (at this point, it wasn't about whether I got the fruit or not, but about feeling toyed with). The hotel answered and explained, saying they would arrange it as soon as possible. Yet, 'as soon as possible' turned into over an hour. I was already in bed when the staff came to deliver the fruit. The staff at this Intercontinental hotel are incredibly service-oriented. From the moment my car pulled up to the lobby, I could feel the professionalism and enthusiasm of the concierge team. As I was traveling for business, I was constantly going back and forth between the hotel and my client. No matter if it was morning or evening, I always encountered meticulous concierges who would proactively open car doors, greet guests, and help with luggage. Even in the scorching heat, working outdoors, they never slacked off. They truly deserve commendation.
There was a slight hiccup during check-in; it felt like the front desk agent wasn't very experienced in handling special situations, but thankfully, everything was resolved smoothly in the end. When I was checking out and waiting in line, an international staff member immediately came over and opened a new counter to process transactions, which was very flexible and ensured that guests in the lobby wouldn't have to wait too long.
The breakfast was also very rich and diverse. The staff in the all-day dining restaurant were well-organized. I particularly liked the fresh squeezed juice, and tables were cleared quite promptly.
As I was leaving, I chatted with a male lobby manager, mentioning that the hotel is well-maintained, but could use a renovation to add some smart amenities, such as robots for food delivery and smart toilets.

The room has a new Chinese style with a wonderful ambiance, and the layout is spacious and open 🌿.
The massive floor-to-ceiling window offers amazing views, and the all-smart controls make everything so convenient! The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, plus a fully automatic smart toilet – the details are really impressive~
The tea in the room is also delicious, and the 'goodnight tea' from the front desk is very soothing; it's so comfortable to drink before bed 🍵.
The self-service breakfast is truly 'Guangzhou-style' – the ingredients are authentic, and the taste is great. Even without Western pastries, it's very satisfying 😋.

We chose a room with a view of the Canton Tower. Waking up to that view every day was beautiful. The hotel is equipped with stainless steel pots and everyday kitchenware. We didn't use them during our short stay, but if we were staying longer, this setup would perfectly suit our lifestyle, and the kitchen products are of high quality. This is the second time I stayed at this hotel, stayed 7 nights this time. There was construction going on the whole time I was here. Overall stay was not bad. I often ordered food and coffee via *******. Sometimes my orders will be delivered to my room using a delivery robot. But other times my orders will sit near the front door. Not sure why.. The hotel also received taobao packages for me as long as I have checked in. They unfortunately will not accept packages before check in. This branch has one of the best locations in Guangzhou. It is close to Modiesha Metro Station, Canton Tower, the Canton Fair Exhibition Center, Party Pier, and many of the city’s main attractions. The neighborhood is modern, clean, and full of restaurants, cafés, and entertainment.
The hotel is located in the same building as a shopping mall, which makes everything very convenient. There is a large supermarket downstairs, plenty of restaurants and cafés, and even a McDonald’s just outside the entrance.
The breakfast is one of the highlights. If you enjoy healthy food, you’ll find plenty of fresh options every morning, along with excellent coffee. Guests can also enjoy complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby throughout the day, where there is a comfortable workspace for anyone who needs to work remotely.
The hotel also offers a self-service laundry room, a small fitness area with a treadmill, modern facilities, and excellent service. Everything was clean, efficient, and well organized.
If you’re visiting Guangzhou for the Canton Fair, a business trip, or simply want to stay in one of the city’s best-connected neighborhoods while also being close to the main attractions, I highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely perfect! The room was absolutely spotless, every nook and cranny perfectly cleaned, giving such a comforting and reassuring feeling the moment I stepped inside. It's an apartment building with a few years of use on its shoulders, but I think it's above average in Guangzhou. The price was very convenient and the room was very nice, we were upgraded to the river view room without even asking. There was a lady who reached out to me on phone to receive us for check-in, there is no front-desk, it's more like a b&b, we were given keys to the room and elevator and that's it. There was a super tv-projector in the room, a fridge and kitchen, but no tools. In the morning, the restaurant didn't even have coffee or hot milk, and there were no freshly made noodles or rice vermicelli. The elevator lacks key card access, which felt a bit unsafe. Someone knocked on my door in the middle of the night, which was really frightening. The washing machine was mediocre, and the gym equipment was very old and dusty. The location is remote, so you need a taxi to get anywhere. It's nowhere near as good as the Licheng Hotel I stayed at near Sun Yat-sen University. They assigned me a small room directly facing another room's door, which led to someone knocking on my door by mistake in the middle of the night. It was really loud and scary. I was attending the 12th International Invention Exhibition at the Canton Fair (Hall A, Building 3, 2nd Floor), and after browsing hotels in the vicinity, I ultimately chose Langham Guangzhou.
Our group of 7 booked 4 Executive Rooms, and everyone raved about their stay. It's about a ten-minute walk to Hall A; you need to go underground via Nanfeng International Convention & Exhibition Centre to the metro station, cross the road, and you're there.
The hotel staff were all uniformly and appropriately dressed, friendly, and accommodating, always ready to help.
The rooms were well-equipped with amenities, including a bathtub and a refrigerator. However, I do wish the sofa was a bit larger~
Breakfast is served buffet-style on the 4th floor of the lobby. The food options varied daily, and the rice noodle rolls were absolutely delicious – I ordered them almost every day. The strawberry milkshake was also quite good.
The Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor offers a beautiful and tranquil environment, and the balcony view is simply stunning (morning or night). We would head up to the 22nd floor for a relaxing break after finishing our daily activities. The lounge serves snacks and cocktails from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and beer is available until 11 PM.
Parking was complimentary throughout our stay; we just needed to inform the front desk staff before leaving, which was simple and convenient. There were plenty of parking spaces, and some even had charging stations for electric car owners.
The only minor issue I encountered was that the bedside power outlets were very loose. Please refer to the video in my review for details.
I just wrote whatever came to mind.
In summary, if I need to attend the exhibition again, I would definitely choose Langham Guangzhou!FromSEK 837

I've been busy for a long time, but I finally have a moment to write this review today. I've stayed at the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay before and was extremely satisfied with both the breakfast and the service, so when I came to Guangzhou, I didn't hesitate to choose the Westin again. However, it completely failed to meet my expectations. Perhaps because I was comparing it to the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay, the breakfast selection here seemed quite limited, and there's no comparison for the public areas.
Let's talk about the service! I mistook this hotel for another where I had redeemed welcome fruit with 1 point on Trip.com. So, when I didn't find any fruit in my room, I called the hotel. The way they communicated needs improvement, as it made me feel like they were trying to take advantage of me, almost insulted. Perhaps they realized their poor communication had upset me, so they reported it to the manager. Soon after, the manager called to say that welcome fruit had been arranged and might already be in my room. However, when I returned to my room that evening, there was no fruit. So, I called the hotel again (at this point, it wasn't about whether I got the fruit or not, but about feeling toyed with). The hotel answered and explained, saying they would arrange it as soon as possible. Yet, 'as soon as possible' turned into over an hour. I was already in bed when the staff came to deliver the fruit. The staff at this Intercontinental hotel are incredibly service-oriented. From the moment my car pulled up to the lobby, I could feel the professionalism and enthusiasm of the concierge team. As I was traveling for business, I was constantly going back and forth between the hotel and my client. No matter if it was morning or evening, I always encountered meticulous concierges who would proactively open car doors, greet guests, and help with luggage. Even in the scorching heat, working outdoors, they never slacked off. They truly deserve commendation.
There was a slight hiccup during check-in; it felt like the front desk agent wasn't very experienced in handling special situations, but thankfully, everything was resolved smoothly in the end. When I was checking out and waiting in line, an international staff member immediately came over and opened a new counter to process transactions, which was very flexible and ensured that guests in the lobby wouldn't have to wait too long.
The breakfast was also very rich and diverse. The staff in the all-day dining restaurant were well-organized. I particularly liked the fresh squeezed juice, and tables were cleared quite promptly.
As I was leaving, I chatted with a male lobby manager, mentioning that the hotel is well-maintained, but could use a renovation to add some smart amenities, such as robots for food delivery and smart toilets.
