My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere. The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel. Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience. Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.

During my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Muscat Al Khuwair, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of comfort and convenience the hotel offers. Located in the heart of Muscat, it provides easy access to many key attractions, business centers, and shopping areas, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. Rooms: The rooms at Hilton Garden Inn Muscat are spacious, modern, and well-equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The cleanliness and upkeep of the room were exceptional, and the view from the room was a lovely touch. Service: The staff were very professional and friendly, offering excellent customer service. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was attentive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. Facilities: The hotel offers a variety of facilities including a well-equipped fitness center, a beautiful pool, and a dining area serving delicious breakfast and a wide range of international dishes. The hotel also has a business center and meeting rooms, which were convenient for any work-related needs. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location was particularly convenient, and the staff were incredibly helpful. I especially want to recognize Receptionist's for her friendly and attentive service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. As a suggestion for improvement, it would be beneficial if the breakfast cost could be included in the room rate. Currently, it's listed as a separate expense. This would make budgeting and overall pricing more transparent for guests. Thank you again for a great stay!

We stayed for three nights, the room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was rich and varied, and we were surprised to have three dozen fish and monkey peaches. The elevator leads to Grand Mall, which has supermarkets and restaurants, clothing, etc. Every waiter is very warm and thoughtful. But the taxi outside the hotel is twice as expensive as the taxi downstairs, which brings us inconvenience. Breakfast number one

The carpet in the room is very dirty, and the bath towel is hairy. It's hard to describe. It feels like a fake stay. If the carpet is cleaned, it will get a lot of good reviews. Rich breakfast, swimming pool, and the front desk receptionist is very enthusiastic.

The hotel has a great charm and deep feeling of its history which corresponds to its classic design. The territory is not big, but well enough for a city and business hotel, there was a swimming pool outside and inside. We booked a club room, which was a very nice. Breakfast was delicious with variety of cheese, hot bites, and even salmon, as well as fruits and fresh juices. Hotel staff was very kind and professional.

Absolutely awesome Hotel. From the moment we checked in, the receptionist greeted us with the warmest smile. Made our stay the most comfortable The breakfast was delicious with variety to choose from. The staff throughout the hotel was excellent! Very clean hotel. The location was spot on. The view from the pool was breathtakingly beautiful over looking the mountains and the main attractions. Free shuttle to the mall was provided which was that little extra comfort. Thank you!

Disappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.

A 12-3 minute taxi ride from Muscat International Airport costs 7 Omani lira (OMR). (As an aside, prices in Oman are 2-3 times higher than in Japan. I was so shocked by the prices that I was stressed out over the amount I had to spend.) The hotel was an impeccable 5-star hotel, and not only were the rooms excellent, but the facilities, restaurant, and staff were also excellent. Because it was built in the desert, the view from the window felt artificial and dry. I heard that it hadn't rained for 60 days during the dry season (I stayed in late April), so it was so dry that the mountains and fields were blurred.

Really great place to stay, it’s in Al khuwair/ghubra, 13 minutes from Muscat Airport. We arrived early, Sanjana at the desk, organised an early check in, staff was great. Good atmosphere overall. I’m more of bear grylls type, so don’t choose any food options at the hotels, locally explored all kinds of cuisine. Just remember Muscat/Oman in general is not foot travel friendly, so don’t expect signalled crossings for pedestrians. We walked to local shops and restaurants within reason.
