The hotel is generally new and clean. The rooms have slightly low ceilings but are functional, and the bathroom is easy to use. It takes 9 minutes to walk from the station. However, the atmosphere along the way isn’t great due to solicitors from girls’ bars. That said, the service at the hotel is good, and the price is reasonable.
There were many free services and I was very satisfied.
There were play areas both indoors and outdoors for children, so I enjoyed my hotel stay even though it was winter.
Mother Farm was also close by. Incidentally, it was cheaper to buy tickets to Mother Farm at the hotel than to buy them in advance online, so I was glad I realized that before buying them.
Alcoholic drinks and rusks were available in the lounge after checking in, and they were delicious.
Location wise, it will be suggested to either drive a rental car or use taxi service around Nikko
Walking is not possible at night as it’s very dark
Front desk staff are very polite and helpful 👍
Rooms are clean and brightly lit, worth the price and very cosy
Enjoyed the pantry with coffee machine
No breakfast area but a toaster, coffee machine and some kitchen appliances are ready for use
Beds are comfy
The response was polite enough to make me feel comfortable.
The baths are open until 2 a.m., so the range has expanded.
I was able to eat as much food as I wanted, including rice and bread, and I was satisfied. It was also helpful to be able to come in for dinner without having to make a reservation.
The room was also very clean and very good.
I was very impressed by the response.
We hope you will continue to do our best.
Breakfast is also the best.
There are many families with children. One child is +3300 yen per night. Various items for children can be obtained from the front desk. The Japanese restaurant on the second floor tastes okay. There are various set meals. Overall, it is a good hotel.
Because I went to Ashikaga Flower Park after a five-day trip to Tohoku and then returned to Tokyo, I chose Oyama as a transit point so that I could get to the hotel earlier after seeing the night view of wisteria flowers. I originally thought that Oyama was just a small town, but when I got there, I found that the JR station was also quite large and there was a shopping mall. The hotel was only about a five-minute walk from the station. The room was slightly larger than that in Tokyo, and the soundproofing was not very good. When I was sleeping in the middle of the night, I heard a man talking loudly on the phone in the corridor outside the door. This hotel seems to be mostly stayed by men on business trips because the bathhouse is only open to men on weekdays, and most of the people eating breakfast in the morning are men, but as a transit hotel, the price-performance ratio is still acceptable.
A traditional Japanese hot spring hotel located next to Kamibashi. I stayed with 11 friends, and the hotel provided a banquet hall for us to have dinner and breakfast; everyone felt at home. The quality of the food was very good, but the chestnut rice for dinner was disappointing. The autumn maple scenery on the inclined road between Kamibashi and the hotel in the early morning is very beautiful.
It is convenient to walk 3 minutes from the station.
The hotel also prepared facial masks for women, which is thoughtful.
The surrounding environment of the hotel is quiet and relaxing.
The price is reasonable and cost-effective.
Went for work, staff wasn’t the nicest but were accommodating enough - the night staff was a little rude, but the morning staff the next day was kind enough. I had time to kill in the lobby, where there were free massage chairs, though they were a little beaten up.
There were food and drink dispensers as well as a hot water heater and microwave for use. There are also public onsen style baths that I did not take advantage of, but they had many selections.
The room I stayed in was nothing special, but was fine for the night I was staying. The location is not great but not terrible, as there is a supermarket nearby open until midnight
My biggest piece of advice would be to rent a car if you are staying here; I took a cab then walked to the station the next day after my business in the area was done

NNGUYEN TUHotel Route-Inn Kanuma is an excellent choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay. AAngelaHotel location is ideal, just 5 mins walk on the connecting bridge over from train station. It seemed not crowded when we checked in, and realised it’s next to their convention center so reckon the hotel is catered for business travelers.
But it’s very convenient and it’s linked to a mall next door, readily with eateries and supermarket, shops.
Hotel breakfast is so-so, variety is not that much and taste is average.
PPetrCool and high-class ryokan hotel. Optimal location for exploring Nikko and surrounding attractions, excellent service, clean and cool onsen with a variety of creams, which can be bought right there in the souvenir shop. Great and varied dinner and breakfast, inexpensive drinks. We stayed for 2 days and 4 meals were different on the menu.
It was nice to receive gift coupons for souvenirs and alcohol at the hotel.
View of the mountain river right from the room. Girls can choose a yukata of the color they like for their stay in the ryokan. It's cool that for the entire stay in the ryokan you are assigned one maid who feeds you and sees you off and helps deliver your luggage - you feel like you are visiting friends. The staff is great - very attentive, but not intrusive.
The downsides are the slightly tired room, but not lacking traditional chic, old curtains, cold light in the room (personally not very pleasant for me, I would advise the hotel to think about replacing the lamps with 3000 Kelvin).
I highly recommend the ryokan, the guys are trying.
GGuest UserThe onsen hotel can easily be assessed by bus, just 5 minutes walk after getting off the bus, in fact they have car park too. It is very near to the ferry pier and the view was terrific, every room has a balcony with lake view. It was runned by the owner and her family members. An unique onsen hotel with quiet and peaceful enviornment where we can relax after a long day's journey. The owner and staff were very attentive and care for their guests. My friend was sick, the owner offered her medicine oil to rub her stomach and let her rest in the waiting area even after check-out. The food was so very delicious and it was one of the best onsen food I ever have so far. I would highly recommend to anyone who want to spend a night in Nikko. I will consider to stay in this onsen hotel again in future.
GGuest UserSince it's a private stay with a specific purpose, I'm very grateful that it's close to my destination.
Utsunomiya Yuinomori is a very man-made town, so there are only chain stores, convenience stores, and large supermarkets, so it's difficult to find a decent meal and you have to drive everywhere.
It's neither good nor bad, just the usual Route Inn.
GGuest UserShort walk from station. Very helpful staff. English spoken. Will store luggage before check-in and after check-out. Room was clean and comfortable. A noise of machinery (perhaps the lift or the heating system??) could be irritating for light sleepers. Free breakfast (bread, egg, salad, juice, coffee) was good. Supermarket close by (microwave on hotel) or a selection of restaurants. We visited in early April and there was still snow on the ground at the lake and waterfalls -- dress accordingly!

AAlly2023Service was excellent! Some staff can speak English. Busy hotel but got enough parking. Location is convenient, there are restaurant nearby. Room is semi-double but we got enough space. Got breakfast however the breakfast time is pretty early from 6am to 8:30am. (Check out time is 10am) We went down at 7:45am, but food was almost gone, but staff no refill anymore, this might need to be improved. Also the room inside and the bathroom are a bit old, carpet is a bit dirty, this might need to be improved too. But overall, its pretty good to stay a few nights.
BBaoxiaohedexiatianIt is a hotel with a historical atmosphere. If you are good at English and Japanese, you will experience more. It is very close to the Shinkyo Bridge. The hotel service responded promptly and the attitude was good. The well-received Western food is really good. The marbled steak tastes amazing. The Japanese red trout is not impressive at first, but I actually like it haha. In short, both sets are quite satisfactory. The breakfast is a simple carbohydrate satisfaction, and the butter is good. I give satisfaction points for both meals. The deluxe room is large and the equipment is relatively new. The bedding is soft and thick. There is no dissatisfaction with other things such as bathroom hot water, toiletries, air conditioning temperature, room odor, etc. I left the hotel to play and stored the gift. When I returned, I asked the hotel to help call a taxi. Due to the evening rush hour, I didn’t make an appointment for the car, but the hotel waiter kept trying to make a call. In the end, he was very sorry and gave the taxi company card for our subsequent use. In short, it is a recommended hotel to stay in Nikko.
GGuest User[Advantages]
- Many hotels with kitchens are a little dirty, but this one was like a model room and was clean.
- Although it is an artificial hot spring, there is a large open-air stone bath, which is exciting. If you prefer a shower, there is a separate glass-enclosed shower room, so you can use both. The water pressure is strong.
- Cleaning is done every three days, but there are two bath towels and two face towels for each person, so it's not a problem.
- The room key is an electronic lock that changes with each check-in, so security is high even when the room is unattended.
- The wifi is fast enough for five people to use. Even if you don't have HDMI, you can connect to a projector via wifi. It also has a surround sound function.
- The air conditioner works great.
- Five free Keurig capsule coffees are included.
- In addition to the sofa, there is also a Logos folding camping chair, so five people can sit comfortably.
[Disadvantages]
- We used both the first and second floors, but the first floor was very noisy with footsteps. Even the sound of cleaning at lunchtime was as loud as an earthquake. Your satisfaction will likely vary depending on where you stay, or on the lifestyle of the people living on the second floor.
Of course, there are no shops, so if you don't want to go out, you'll need to stock up on drinks and food.
