Definitely the best in the region. Conveniently located on central plaza, and modern shopping mall next door. Room very clear, very good bed and amenities. Well functioning bathroom. Good restaurant. Polite staff with good will. Only problem was Air Conditioning. We stayed 4 nights. The first 2, we were on the upper floor. The AC there was, we think, more high tech, but for some reason, we were unable to adjust the temperature in the room, the display on the control on the wall was showing ” locked ”. When we asked for this to be resolved, we eventually realised no one knew how to solve the problem. We tried many times, and even our guide put his influence on it. Really, no one was able to fix it. Our guide insisted, then, that we move room. We were moved to a room on second floor. There, the AC was less high tech, but was working well. Sometimes low tech works better. The staff was very helpful and kind. We would stay there again, on second floor. AC in Tumbes is serious matter, as the place is very very hot.
