The accessible room met our needs perfectly. It's located on the ground floor and down a corridor, but all the accessibility aids were in good condition.

This hotel is very conveniently located for access to and from the M1 (which is why I chose it). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for location is because if you fancy taking a stroll into the nearby village, perhaps for a pub meal and a drink, then the footpath is non- existent in places and you need to be careful in the dark. But that's not the hotel's fault and as the hotel is clearly set up for travelling business customers, I suppose most people would just drive a couple of minutes to the local pubs (which were more lively than the hotel bar). Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were all helpful and polite and the breakfast was delicious and filling. And the room was fine too. Overall, this hotel worked well for me on this occasion and I am happy to recommend it
Allen is working at the front office reception and I stay in this hotel for 13 nights, every time when need them to do something like change my key card because is not working or house keeping did not give me any towels, they do it unwillingly. I’ve had to change my card nearly every night and it lightly touches my phone accidentally and it deactivated. But I don’t understand why their system is so poor, my daughter’s dormitory uses these cards and puts them against their phone but it’s completely fine. A large hotel group like this can’t even use a up to date elock system.

Didn't realise pool for kids is from 3pm weekdays.
Got charged again after prepaid my room. Other than that it's a comfortable stay with spacious room and bed.
Free parking. Perfect temperature of the whirlpool and swimming pool.
Absolutely stunning hotel. Undersold on its website.
Original Tudor hall with many original features which compare favourably to any that you might see in a National Trust property - especially the two incredible fireplaces. Great views towards central London from the terrace at the back.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Room was large, well furnished, and quiet (as I think would be all the hotel as in large grounds). Shame that pond was drained.
Annex at the back where the bedrooms are not very sympathetic design to the rest of the stunning hotel, and the gym could be better furnished. I think that Laura Ashley was involved in the interior design. Some reviews say that it is a bit down at it heels, but I didn't think so - more of a lived in air which made me feel more at ease. Looks of quirky design features which work well in a sort of 1960s New Avengers way, but I didn't like the fake wood pattern wallpaper in the bar as it cheapens the glorious fireplace next to it. My daughter loved sitting in one of the James Bond super villain blue chairs in the bar - she moaned that she didn't have our cat with her to complete the effect.
We booked this for not much more than the local Premier Inn that I normally stay at - but this is in completely a different league.
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful hotel.
Reception & restaurant staff were helpful, but housekeeping is rather poor : didn't replenish tea/ coffee as well as hand soap, left previous customer's hair in bath and had to be asked to clean up room.
Shower is very weak, so not great for hot summer days.
Breakfast is ok. Restaurant staff are cheerful and helpful.
Overall ok, but not good value for money.
We stayed one night after attending the venue for a wedding reception. Our room was perfect; a good size and very clean. The en suite was spot on with soft white bath sheets and the soap was divine! Hairdryer, kettle and even an iron was in the room so couldn’t ask for more.
Breakfast was a buffet and of great quality and plentiful. Everything was cooked to perfection.
The grounds are gorgeous and we even found the fountain featured in one of the Harry Potter movies!!
We stayed for 6 nights over Easter. Arriving wasn't the best. Rooms weren't ready for the 3pm check in time so had to sit in the bar and wait. No offer of a free drink for the inconvenience either. Half hour later our room was ready. Then, even though advertised as having air-conditioning, the rooms dont. The room was hot but reception did provide a fan.
The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Especially Helen on reception who sorted our fan.
The rooms are dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment to get up to proper IHG standard. Paint was cracking on the walls and dints in the wall from where people had hit with suitcases etc. That being said, the beds were very comfy.
Breakfast was the best we've had at any HI Express hotel. Food always topped up, even when it was really busy. Good choice of food and nicely prepared.
Location is really handy for getting the train into London as the station is across the road and Euston is a 25 minute ride away.
When they finally refurbish the hotel it will be a great HI Express.

GGuest UserThe hotel is perfect for its price range. No room service, which is a minus, night staff found more friendly. Ac not heating enough. Beds abit low and hard mattresses. However, it’s a good hotel overall.

MMiss SheffieldLovely clean hotel, friendly staff.
Bathroom a bit out dated but wasn’t spending my weekend in there so no issue.
Ask for a high floor as you hear everything when people walking upstairs.
Great location. Would I stop again- most definitely

AAnonymous UserEverything was lovely but the staff were not very friendly and we were not informed about the £200 pound deposit we needed to put down or that we would be locked out of our room at 11am
Would definitely stay again, but it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more info and customer service
PPlayful+JoyfulThe hotel staff said that he couldnt find my booking although I provided my booking reference and voucher and request 15 pounds for Early check in and charged my account 51 pounds in total. Although I kept saying I booked via Trip.com and paid while I booked the hotel online. It was a prepaid booking. I am so disappointed that the hotel sent me the invoice & receipt on 14 March but I was told I would get the balance of receipt and I would be charged the early check in fee 15 pounds only, the accommodation fee after I checked out at 12pm on March 15. On March 15, when I was checking out, I checked with another staff who was on duty, he said the hotel didn’t charge my card, but the agency card, it was acceptable. Unfortunately, on my bank statement I found that the hotel charged my card for all. And it was really disappointed because they didnt really dealed with my questions and my situation. I did double pay for the accommodation to Trip. Com and the Primier Inn Richmanworth.
DDanielleThe hotel itself is very dated and basic but absolutely fine for a night stay before or after a flight. Everything was just perfect for us. Cheap and cheerful for our budget. Staff were helpful and check in/ out easy. Ideal location for Stansted airport as it's literally 5 minutes away from the airport carparks. It's at a welcome break area so KFC, burger king and subway onsite.
GGuest UserThe accomodation & service was fine & what you would expect. I would potentially would have liked a bit bigger selection of food for the evening meals.
The main thing that you could look at is making the signage a bit clearer as to how to access the property- we did not expect it to be by the services , so maybe state that in your advert- as we ended up going around the huge intersection again , as we expected a separate entrance for the hotel. Thanks
