The room I booked was the internal compact room. Perfect for a solo traveller and the price was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. Near the bus interchange and Intercity bus stop. Room was clean. I would book again.

Due to heavy rain on the west coast, I went back to the town and stayed for one night. It was clean. Every room on the first floor has a back door to the garden. Breakfast is included. Bread, jam, coffee and tea are included. The whole meal seems to be 21.5 yuan. , Feng Jian by people

It's strange that the actual hotel name is completely different from what's listed on Trip.com! It's across from the botanical garden, a garden-style hotel with a top-notch environment. The roses blooming there are even more beautiful than those in the botanical garden. The room is comfortable, and the bed is incredibly cozy. Breakfast is quite rich. However, the bathroom facilities are a bit outdated. The bathtub has no non-slip mat or handrails, making it easy to slip and quite dangerous. The shower stall is so narrow that even as an Asian person, I found it cramped; I can't imagine how a European or American person would manage to turn around in it.

It's rare to find a hotel in New Zealand without a kitchen, and the two complimentary bottles of mineral water made it feel like I was back home. The room wasn't very large, but it was adequate, with two 1.5-meter beds. The only problem was the ceiling height was too low, roughly around 2.5-6 meters. Combined with the dark duvet cover, it felt quite depressing. The hotel also has a 24-hour front desk, which is quite rare in New Zealand.

Warm and good service staff. We mistakenly treated the restaurant as a reception, and the bar staff was very patient and said that this often happened, and then took us to complete the check in. Breakfast was great! There are also microwaves, tableware and free tea bags that can be used in the ballroom. The steaks in the restaurant are delicious!

Our first trip to New Zealand and first stay at Wyndham Christchurch. Hotel is new and clean. Car park is available at NZ$20 per night. Car park is just next to the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights, however there is no housekeeping provided. Perhaps you need to stay a week for them to clean up your room? Anyway, will recommend.

Probably the best place for families especially if you are travelling with kids. Beds are big enough for 2a2c easily. Parking is free and very convenient. (If full, I see folks just park by the road). Location very close to all activities you need (Kaikoura is small town). Breakfast isn’t buffet style but it’s definitely going to beat your expectation. Definitely recommend this place

The room was clean. The facilities were average, but the accommodation was fine. A bus to the ski resort was arranged. The breakfast was average. But the breakfast in New Zealand hotels is average. Don't expect too much. Compared with the ones in China, the staff in the small town here are very friendly. I feel comfortable every day.

The hotel is centrally located in Christchurch, making it a convenient base for exploring the city. The overall cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel were commendable. However, the rooms are not very spacious, which was a bit of a letdown. Additionally, the curtains appeared to have not been cleaned for a long time, which negatively impacted my experience. Despite these issues, the prime location and cleanliness of the hotel made for a reasonable stay.

GGuest UserI was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

Amazing
KKuishouThe room was very clean, and the facilities were standard for a four or five-star hotel, with a separate shower and toilet. The bed was also quite spacious. The breakfast was reasonably rich, and you could order omelets separately. The hotel is extremely close to the terminal; you can reach it right after exiting. Outside, there's a car rental company parking lot, which is very convenient if you're renting a car because you can park there and avoid paying hotel parking fees. Within a 10-minute walk, there's a commercial complex with restaurants and a supermarket. It's a very convenient place to stay when arriving in Christchurch.

LLouis ConnorWe were running late and were going to miss the advertised check-in time, so I called ahead to find out what to do. Although no-one answered the phone, we were informed by the automated answerphone that if you missed check-in, they would leave your keys to your room in a lock-box outside reception. This is a major plus for travellers as it can be so hard to execute your travel plans to schedule! The facilities in The Lodge, where we were staying were mostly communal and hostel-like - people seemed to hang around in hallways. For some this could be a great way to socialise or otherwise intimidating. These communal areas were slightly untidy and unclean. We stayed in a room with en-suite facilities. It was very basic with two large twin beds pushed together to make a King-sized bed. The shower temperature fluctuated massively but we had a comfortable stay. We did not eat on-site as we found it to be overpriced but we did notice that there was a wide range of social events such as a pub quiz which would have been super fun if we had more time!

Ffairy-smileThe location is superb, directly opposite the cathedral. It's a shame, however, that the cathedral is still undergoing renovations and seems several years away from completion. On the bright side, the beautiful Cardboard Cathedral is within easy walking distance. Just outside the entrance, there's a beautiful library with a cafe – a perfect spot for both intellectual nourishment and a coffee or snack. Riverside Market is also very close, easily walkable, and features a wide array of restaurants and bars. While New World supermarket and Chemist Warehouse are a bit further away, they are still within a manageable walking distance, and we opted to walk there. The staff were exceptionally warm and professional. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and the bathrooms featured a convenient wet/dry separation. Luggage storage was also available. Overall, this was, without a doubt, the best value-for-money hotel we stayed at during our entire South Island New Zealand trip.

TTomFraenkNice stay in Christchurch. Two nights in the motel with a very friendly and helpful staff. Big advance - the shuttle service from/to the airport with just a few minutes drive. Very good service and availability by call. Room with a big space, very clean. The furniture wasn‘t new, but well maintained and quite clean. It needs around 30 minutes with the bus to the city Center. No convenient stores or shopes close by.

__zx13065****The location is fantastic, right next to the Arts Centre and the Botanic Gardens. Overnight parking is available for a fee, making it perfect for a city walk after returning your car. Our two-bedroom apartment was on the top floor with excellent views, especially at sunset. However, one of the bedrooms was in the attic, accessed by a set of stairs, which was a bit inconvenient. The hotel has a communal laundry room where you need to buy tokens at the front desk. With detergent, it's about $9+. You can't do laundry after 10 PM.
