Booked for one night and room is big with bathtub and hotel is opposite delipark mall with lots of shops . Parking is free they will give a paper voucher to show at exit. Breakfast is huge spread and variety.

Weekend rate is expensive compared with weekdays. Unfortunately there is no swimming pool or gym. Suitable for travellers who wants convenient around the city. For the price - yes i will return to the hotel again. Thumbs up.

Good location close to the airport with free shuttle at 2 hourly intervals. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Theres not too much around the area but there are a couple of decent places to eat within walking distance .

It was a pleasant experience. I got what I really needed.
I only stayed for 1 night and I spent the night at Room 306. The room is clean and neat. Itโs not as spacious as I thought it would be, but for a solo traveler itโs just the right space.
At the lobby, itโs like a combination of cafe and library. Yes, they provide books to read.
I would love to stay here again in the future.

My recent two-night stay at Grand City Hall Medan Hotel during Ramadan turned out to be a delightful experience โ one that combined comfort, convenience, and exceptional service.
Service and Hospitality
What really stood out to me was how the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. On our last night, we ran into a bit of trouble โ the AC in our room suddenly started making loud noises in the middle of the night. Not exactly ideal when youโre hoping for a peaceful rest.
But hereโs what impressed me: the hotel staff handled it so well. They responded quickly, offered us a new room without hesitation, and even helped us pack and move our belongings. Itโs rare to see that kind of care and attention, especially in the middle of the night. Thanks to their swift action, what could have been a frustrating night turned out to be just a minor hiccup โ and we were able to get back to a restful sleep without much trouble.
Hotel Design and Amenities
The hotel itself is beautifully designed โ modern yet inviting. We stayed in one of their Japanese-style rooms, which turned out to be a real highlight. The room had a peaceful Tatami area, adding a lovely touch of authenticity. It felt like stepping into a little corner of Japan โ perfect for relaxing after a long day. Plus, the Jacuzzi in the room was an amazing bonus โ just what we needed to unwind.
Ramadan Dining Experience
Since we visited during Ramadan, the hotelโs thoughtful approach to accommodating fasting guests was a real plus. Their Sahoor menu was fantastic โ delicious, filling, and full of variety. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure we had a satisfying start to our day.
In the evenings, their iftar session was another standout. The setup โ both indoors and outdoors by the pool โ created a relaxed yet festive atmosphere. The menu was well-curated, offering a range of tasty dishes at a reasonable price. To top it off, their lobby cafรฉ offered complimentary tea, coffee, and small iftar snacks every afternoon โ a thoughtful touch that felt incredibly welcoming.
Location
Being right in the heart of Medan was another big win. Whether youโre exploring the cityโs vibrant food scene or heading out for business, the hotelโs central location makes everything easily accessible.
Room Cleanliness and Maintenance
While the room itself was clean and well-maintained, I felt the bathroom could have used a bit more attention โ perhaps a deeper clean to really match the otherwise high standards of the hotel. That said, this was more about my personal preference for spotless surfaces than any major issue.
Ambiance and Atmosphere
One interesting thing I noticed was that the hotel seemed to attract a well-dressed, elegant crowd โ it felt like a place where Medanโs esteemed ladies and gentlemen regularly gathered. There was an air of sophistication that added to the charm.
Final Thoughts
If youโre looking for a hotel that offers more than just a place to sleep โ one that makes you feel welcome and well-cared for โ Grand City Hall Medan Hotel is an excellent choice. From the inviting Tatami room and Jacuzzi to their thoughtful Ramadan touches and top-notch service, this hotel truly made our stay memorable.

World class hotel. An opulent hotel experience. The room was very clean, quiet and peaceful with a nice view. The food and beverage outlets are amazing and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The service here amazing, free ice cream whilst waiting for check-in is just the tip of the iceberg. The deep joy pool, everyone should dive into once. Their luxury white fluffy towels, plush white bath robes and heavenly-smelling shower gels in tiny little bottles ไธthere's something about padding around in their fancy bathroom that feels gloriously decadent. The breakfast spread was a culinary delight, and the hotel's facilities, including the spa and fitness center, were top-notch.ย Located conveniently in the heart of the city, this hotel is the epitome of luxury. I highly recommend it for an unforgettable experience. Recommend this hotel to anyone that can afford it.

GGuest UserSo, me and my husband went to medan recently and decided to stay in this hotel for 2 days. I would say that it ws NOT a pleasant stay. There ws this musty smell at the corridor and in the room. The building is not being maintained well, we can say. There ws cricket in the room .*scared the **** of me*.
Even from the start, the air cond ws nt cold enough and there ws so weird noise if we decrease the temperature, bt we wr told that its already at its maximum coldness and the noise will goes off in a while. Hahaha. As expected, the air cond ws nt functioning in the middle of the night. Hmmmm... we decided to shift to another hotel the next day.
So, please maintain your hotel, guys. ๐ ๐ ๐

BBroeryI used to stay here during my golfing days more than 10 yrs ago. This time I came alone.
The shower is erratic, flow haywire, No Live music at Lobby Lounge, Karaoke is Closed, and my room is facing the pool,so Noisy and Loud at New year 31/12 celebration.
TV channels adequate, coffee Tea r good.
Breakfast, average and boring.

KKelv69Are we sure this is a 5 star hotel? Service was good, staff are friendly. Location is ok. Rooms need a bit of maintenance. The air con is TOO loud, particularly noticeable at night. No earplugs, no sleep! And connecting rooms are a nightmare if your neighbour wants to be loud all night. With so many rooms why would they allocate adjoining before normal? We had to change room after the first night. Hotel is OK overall

NnjqeugeneFirst time staying at this hotel. Great counter service, staff was able to converse in English. Room was clean and toiletries were refilled every day. No complaints at all. Super close to the main train station which connects directly to the airport. Breakfast starts at 0630 to 1000. Every day's menu is different. One slight downside is that the dishes are labelled in Bahasa Indonesian, so you might need some help if you really want to know what the dishes are served. At 0700, the buffet starts the live omelette station and noodle station.
Housekeeping is done every day. Linens are clean, no smell, towels are also very clean. Good job to the hotel. Would recommend all types of travellers to stay.
