Decent location for one night stopover. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room pretty basic but all okay for what we paid. Downfall was the noise early morning, being woken to trucks beeping and reversing at 7am on a Sunday isn't my idea of a good night's sleep (which is all we really needed, this was the followed by trolleys clanking and banging, so think this is a real downfall to what should have been a nice little stopover. I advised the receptionist and she said it was the deliveries....which I understand are needed ....but not 7am on Sunday surely and if so some more thought for those sleeping. Sadly this affected my overall rating as really you pay to have a good sleep but I didn't get that.

A lovely hotel with a beautiful view and very quiet area for a good night's sleep. The beds are very spacious and comfortable; the best night sleep I have had in a long time. A great size shower with a seat to suit guests with accessible needs. The shower products smell great and leave your skin feeling smooth. The breakfast was very nice with many different options. I opted for a hot breakfast which was buffet style with unlimited apple and orange juice. The night light was perfect for late night reading. I would definitely come back

Great location just off the M54, easy to find and excellent free parking for guests. The hotel is modern and pleasant and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a king size bed, large tv, coffee machine and mini fridge, plenty of phone charging sockets and something I miss in a lot in hotels these days; a small dressing table area. The bathroom was spacious with a large walk in shower. We only stayed one night but wish it had been longer. The breakfast area was large and spacious with a great selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese and cold meets along with a wonderful selection for a cooked breakfast. I'm just sorry that we didn't have time to use the spa facilities which looked excellent. I can't recommend the hotel enough!

Having read some recent negative reviews I was not expecting much but from my scores it was first class. Good easy to get to place and just a short walk to the main town, we arrived early but were able to check in - very friendly reception staff and gave us all the information we needed. All areas from reception to bar and corridors were well presented and clean and modern look, the room on ground floor was a good size with all facilities required [ nice touch Steph the house keeper left a lovely note ] We had a window which opened and nice green space looking towards a park. very quiet room. Leisure facilities were first class and not over busy (you did have to book the pool but not an issue}. Service at the bar was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good with good selection of hot and cold food. One stand out point was the hotel was well staffed which helped make for a first class experience.

Bed very comfy room was okay a little bit dated and basic. The bar was tiny and not very welcoming. The food however was the best I have ever had can’t explain how much we enjoyed our dinner. The steak was possibly the best I have ever tasted. The breakfast was good as always. Staff were so welcoming in the restaurant and couldn’t do enough to help.

I stayed here with 2 others for 2 nights to attend an event. It was perfect for our needs. Very nice room that was exceptionally clean and a fantastic walk-in shower. Having lots of parking and being near lots of shops and restaurants was very helpful. It was very easy to walk to places I needed to be. Breakfast was good! Nothing exceptional but the continental selection did the job and despite limited hot food I could still make myself some nice bacon sandwiches. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Very affordable and would definitely stay again!

5 of us recently came for a Spa break including ,lunch,evening meal and breakfast. We each had 2 treatments each and had full use of the spa facilities. On arrival at Reception we were greeted by a lovely and very helpful lady who told us everything we needed to know. We checked into our rooms (3 rooms in total and they were the Superior Rooms) they were all spotlessly clean,with free Toiletries and complimentary tea,coffee and hot chocolate. We also had a gift in each room which was a bottle of Prosecco. Each room had a balcony overlooking the canal and countryside views,very relaxing. Beautiful rooms and decor with a safe,fan ,iron and ironing board. After check in we went for lunch where we had a lovely bottle of champagne to share and a Mezze Board each which consisted of fresh bread,breadstick,houmous,olives,pate,selection of meat,dips and new potatoes which was delicious. We then went to start our spa experience...again spotlessly clean facilities...Spa included,Sauna,Steam room,jacuzzi,hydro pool,swimming pool,gym,floating beds etc and a lovely relaxation room where we were served fresh fruit and fruit juice when requested. Plenty of water,green tea and herbal tea also available. We each chose to have the deep tissue massage...50 minutes each and it was absolutely perfect and they worked to your requests. The second treatment the following day we chose between us the Mud Rasul ,Massage Chair and the Floatation booth...between us we all agreed were absolutely fabulous. The whole spa experience was wonderful and relaxing,the lights in there were dimmed but enough light to see what you needed to see but made it even more relaxing a long with the calming spa music. On the evening we all went for dinner and drinks...we all had a 3 course meal...food freshly prepared and tasted delicious...empty plates all around. Breakfast the following morning was a buffet style...from full English to continental with tea,coffee and fruit juices...again very nice indeed. When we finished that day we were all given a complimentary gift each from the Spa ...a selection of lovely Toiletries and bag. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful ,friendly and helpful staff,quality food,excellent spa,beautiful rooms ...would I recommend coming here? Absolutely 100% without a doubt...we came home feeling fully relaxed and content from our break away ...

AWFUL AWFUL, AWFUL, the room number 62, was O.K at best, tatty curtains, cobwebs on wall, damp carpet, and dripping taps, as well as as a shower that scalded or froze, booking in was fine, as for the amenities, the restaurant was worse than some cheap 2-4-1 meal deal ”sizzler”, the menu states ”Table Service” upon request, a 5 star hotel should offer this as standard, they were under staffed, the meal provided was well cooked but not very hot, and the ”locally sourced fresh mushrooms” were tinned button mushrooms. Service was reasonable, but serviettes/napkins had to be requested and were not given as standard, table clearance appeared to be an after thought, as in, ” Oh we had better clear the table” ”DUHHHHH” clean up up your act. Breakfast was worse than Tesco's, it was self service, the toaster was useless, bread had to be cycled several times to get any degree of BROWNING, the bacon, sausages, scrambled egg etc were under kept warm dishes which frankly were rubbish as the food was at best TEPID, a ”FULL ENGLISH” breakfast was available so long as you ordered the fried egg and black pudding in advance as it was not supplied as normal, I would rate this hotel as TWO STAR at best, Premier Inn, and Travel Lodge surpasses this hotel HANDS DOWN

My partner and I spent a great night at The Prince Rupert. Pros: it is a beautiful period building, in a fantastic location in central Shrewsbury. The room we had was pretty, with all necessary mod cons, with a very comfortable bed. Check in was easy and the breakfast, included in the booking price, was very good. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I would certainly recommend anyone reading to consider a stay. Cons: parking is a few minutes away from the hotel. There are lots of narrow roads up to the hotel and I would advise anyone at the hotel reading this to clarify exactly where the parking is to customers before booking. If this is widely available and I have missed it, then this is on me as a customer. The other thing is there were some darker, slightly dingy parts of the hotel when walking through to our room. Some of this will be due to the nature of the hotel being a period building, but if you are a customer looking for a light, bright, modern hotel, this is not the hotel for you. Please note my criticisms are nit-picks and nothing more. In summary: a very competitively priced hotel with a lovely interior/exterior, friendly staff and one I can definitely say is the kind of place you can take someone to impress them. A lovely one night stay at The Bull, The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially as I was travelling with my arm in a sling, even to the point of offering to cut my breakfast up so I could eat it 😂😂😂 this was very appreciated! In my room the shower cubicle needed a better clean as there were long hairs from where some one has washed their hair and the bedroom curtains needed blackout blinds in the actual window recesses to block out the street lights, and in the recess, as people could look up from the street and see behind the curtains. Signage or more visible prompts explaining where to go to check in would also be good ! All that having been said I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others needing a short stay in the town.

Good standard large rooms

great location for visiting the museums of Ironbridge and in easy walking distance of the Ironbridge itself. Good car parking available. Overall a pleasant hotel to stop at with friendly and helpful staff. The food in the restaurant both for breakfast and evening meal was very enjoyable and well presented. The only issue we did have with our room ( 33 ) was the bed which was most uncomfortable past its best and should be replaced.

Where to begin with this one? Firstly i requested to cancel as i was coming down with COVID like symptoms. Ramada Telford seem to not mind that though, so that request was denied (no offer of another stay, or partial refund, nothing). Felt better day of, and decided to travel. On check-in (nor on the website, photo attached) i wasn't told anything about the pool being out of service. Turns out it was. No offer of a full or partial refund. Nothing. Luckily, Trip have stepped in with a good will gesture. Spoke to some people (named below) by email afterwards and basically told ”nothing they can do” and ”it's trip's fault” that the website didn't reflect that their pool had been out of action since DECEMBER. Awful customer service, facilities not available. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Specifically bad service via email: Lis Frost & Richard Bowen

2 night stay with friends while touring Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. Private grounds, off road parking covered by CCTV and a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Rooms were en suite, clean and warm. Breakfast was included in the room rate, was of good quality and plentiful. Hotel has bar and light bites menu or there are restaurants and pubs a short 5 minute walk away. Family run hotel with a small, long serving, team and it shows. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to my next stay.

The price is very high, and the hotel I set in front of, the world is different, the room is large, clean, bright, sanitary products look comfortable, the hotel is very characteristic, old-fashioned British architecture, more than 400 nights. Very worth booking.

The bar is really good and so is the staff! If you want a good old fashioned pint with good music then come on down! A welcoming atmosphere with a friendly clientele, you’ll feel more than welcome here. The choice of drinks is excellent and the music is to the liking of each patriot.

Having stayed at Albrighton Hall 18 months ago, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I booked again on the occasion of our anniversary. I posted a comment last time praising the hotel, the staff and the quality of the food (5 stars). Unfortunately our stay on this occasion was completely spoiled by our dining experience. I booked in advance, online, for 7pm. We arrived at the dining room on time and ordered our meal and drinks. The drinks arrived, and a short time later a server informed us that there may be a delay, as there was a large party in another part of the room, the implication being that they would be prioritised. This was at 7.10pm. We then waited at our table for over an hour before we were served with our main meal. By that time the large party, around 14 people, were being served coffee at the end of their meal. Other diners around us were also being served and seemed to be happy with things. My wife was getting increasingly annoyed, as was I, and I politely let two of the servers know how we felt, whilst acknowledging that it was not their fault. After such a good experience on a previous occasion, this was disappointing, frustrating and annoying, and we will not be returning to Albrighton Hall in future.

First the good stuff - great location, nice, friendly staff & clean room. But ………. We were given a ground floor room which was right next to the beer garden and when I say next to I mean only our window was between us and the drinkers on the same level. To get any privacy we had to close our window, pull the curtains & put the light on! Unfortunate for a hot afternoon in August 🥵 Not great unfortunately, I think the drinkers were as embarrassed as us when they realised we were staying in this room. Also our room wasn’t serviced, I have no issue with making my own bed but for the price I shouldn’t have to 😡

Third visit this year. Feels like coming home 🏡 Been coming to stay in Shrewsbury for short breaks ove the last 10 years. This is without a doubt the most comfortable friendly place to stay.Lesley keeps the rooms immaculate and is happy to chat.Adam is so lively and fun he makes for a great atmosphere and Gemma and Maliha who served us were great.All staff we met are a credit and certainly assets to this business.
