A shower without a door or a curtain is not avant-garde, it’s not modern, it’s not even clever; it’s just a headache and inconvenience for hotel guests and cleaning staff alike.  The faucet in the shower is very modern. Two knobs, one which turns the water on, and the other which selects whether the water comes out of the fixed shower head above, or the movable shower wand. Choose wrong and enjoy a blast of ice cold water from above.  This is not something a person wants to figure out when they step into the shower first thing in the morning.

Always a reliable place to stay as it is close to my work. In late 2023 and early 2024, I was often able to get a good value stay here in an accessible room. However, more recently prices have been a lot higher for this hotel on Trip.com, so I have stopped using it because the Stratford Travelodge usually works out quite a bit cheaper. It's a shame because I prefer the Ibis but can't really justify the cost difference.

Great location, hotel is quite old, hot water is good. There is onsite parking, however the staff is rather unfriendly. Services could be better. When we tried to ask for extended parking just to have lunch after check out, the answer was flat no. Attitude could be more friendly.

Booked for my parents who would be exhausted after their 10.5-hour flight. I was approached via WhatsApp by their front desk and it turned out that my special request was kindly honoured. Parents were satisfied with the location (although they landed at T3 and took quite a while through the immigration) and the room and amenities were beyond expectation. Would definitely book again when necessary. Would be nice to have fried eggs for breakfast though.

I’ve stayed here before and the room has some dirt in it and the staff weren’t very helpful. But this time the men around reception were quick, professional and pleasant, and the room was much cleaner. After 2 stays I can confirm that no matter where you stay, you will be able to hear corridor noises and plumbing through the building. That’s fine for most people but just something to bear in mind if you’re neurodivergent like me.

The hotel is okay. Room was big and spacious, bed a little bit hard But main issue is the location, it's not well located for anything other than the back entrance to excel 15 minute walk to Custom House. Can't take lime bikes near the hotel Don't book this hotel if you want to be exploring around London

Staff were really friendly and the rooms were clean enough. We stayed here due to proximity to the O2 as we had tickets to an event but I don’t think the hotel is really catered towards families. Smells of ********* and the sounds of couples “enjoying their night” filled our room in the early hours. I’m glad my son was asleep!

Absolutely amazing visit for my Girlfriends Birthday. The team really went to town organising an amazing room with balloons and cholocates. The check in team were soo friendly and even let us leave our bags early before we checked in to allow us to go out for lunch. Absolutely incredible stay, I can’t wait to book my next visit. The spa facilities were amazing the the swimming pool was very clean and fresh towels provided. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Thank you soo much, you made our stay very special.

TTan24The location is ideal to get to T5 Heathrow Terminal using the POD transport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite big and there seem to be lots of parties happening. The bar is a sports bar and you can enjoy drinks and food. The corridors are very long. The hotel furniture and interior are a bit outdated, but for a short stay it's ok.

MM Alan AExcellent location within a 5 minute walk to Paddington Station. Other than this point, I was disappointed with the Hotel. Cost per night was quite high for what was their offering ... had to climb a shallow step stairs from street to lobby (no ramp), which was slippery when wet from rain/morning dew. Room was exceeding small and could not access the safe (on floor of closet ... needed to move bed to access closet), no functonal deadlock on door, shower and sink hard to access (medium sized adult) and no working A/C (though on the 4th night, they did bring me a stand up fan). Phone was also non-operational.

GGuest UserThe hotel is within a short walking distance to: good eateries, shops and the train station to Central London. There are ample parking spaces at ~10pounds/ day for hotel guests. This older hotel has comfortable, spacious rooms but a quirky shower head (aim at the wall as you shower to avoid flooding the bathroom).

AAnonymous Userpleasant. The price was affordable, especially with the perks offered through the app, which made it great value for money. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food options were good. We also appreciated the availability of locker storage, which made things convenient. However, one downside was the ongoing maintenance work during our stay. It caused some disruption, and unfortunately, we had to take quite a long detour just to reach our room. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it did take away from the overall convenience. Would still recommend for the price, perks, and service — just worth checking ahead if maintenance is ongoing.

GGuest UserI am satisfied with the location and the modern environment of the hotel itself (not the unreasonable tiny space of a standard double room - a pot 8sqm double room), but this is the worst hotel experience my family and I have ever had. My mother is an old lady who is almost 70 years old. She fell down at the hotel entrance on the day we checked in. We noticed that the ground at the hotel entrance was designed with a ramp to facilitate access for disabled people who need to use wheelchairs, but there was a small gap and height difference between the entrance and the ramp, which caused my mother to fall very badly. We booked the pot 8sqm double room for 4 nights in this hotel, the space was really incredibly small. The only thing I could thought of was to ask the hotel whether they could upgrade us to a slightly larger room to accommodate an injured elderly person, and the hotel catered our needs. The Front Office and Operations Manager Rax explained that due to the design of the hotel, the small rooms are on the floors above the ground, whilst the large rooms are in the basement of the hotel, so the only room we can move to is located in the basement of the hote, and we could only be able to move on the second day of our stayl. Although this statement is not very reasonable, the situation in the basement is acceptable. The second unpleasant and terrifying experience was that I was taking a shower in the bathroom in the room while my mother was having coffee in the hotel lobby at night, and there was no one else in the room except me. While I was showering, the lights in the bathroom suddenly went out completely, while the water was still running normally. This was definitely the most horrible hotel experience ever. I was so flustered, trying so hard to find the water faucet in the dark and turn it off. Once I opened the glass door of the shower room, the lights came back on. I hurriedly finished my shower and went to the hotel front desk, I saw Rax and reported this issue to him. From his reaction to me when he knew about this, I didn't feel that he had any empathy or sympathy for the terrible thing I had gone through. He explained that the hotel had a new motion sensor that would cause the lights in the room to turn off if there was no movement in the room. He even argued with me that it wasn't a big deal that the light went out during the shower. I suggested that he could explain this new feature of their hotel to guests when they check in, so that if guests encounter a similar situation, at least they will feel less panicked. He told me that even if he knew it in advance, he would not feel better. I was really amazed by the responses as a Front Office and Operations Manager. On the third day of our stay, when I was putting on makeup in the room and getting ready to go out, the alarm suddenly sounded. When we were trying to calm down from the unpleasant experiences we had encountered in just two days, suddenly these things that made us irritable and uneasy happened again, which really drive us crazy. I then met the Front Office Supervisor Asher at the lobby, he tried to understand our experiences patiently, and gave apologies on behalf of the hotel. He offered us free breakfast on the forth day morning which we did not ask for. Asher also talked to me sincerely, and that he would talk to the General Manager of the hotel about our case, and let the GM to have a talk with us too. I think this is the kind of attitude and crisis handling method a hotel employee should have. Finally I want to say that although my family and I have been a member of the Marriott group for many years, we will no longer stay in any of their hotels and any type of accommodation.

GGuest UserLocation is excellent with just a few minutes walk from Gloucester Road station. Yet the hotel is bit old and toilet got some strange smell when we first entered and the toilet door can’t be closed. As I was staying with family, I could bear with it. Nobody answering the calls when I was trying to call operator or housekeeping; always asking to leave message which I don’t like! Yet when I see the housekeeping staff on the corridor, they are very helpful!

GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel. When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied. Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS. In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates. This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed. It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.

TTony Cheong K TThe hotel location is convenient and clean room, service is nice and good ; especially when I go check out, the concierge staff knew that we did not have breakfast, then prepared two special breakfast for us at no cost (even though there are no more eggs or coffee, he sincerely bring out toast, bacon, ham, cake and fruit sets) The car park is okay but I don't know why they charged me $35 pounds while the price list mentioned $25 pounds per night
