Bad Godesberg
Seminaris Hotel Bad Honnef

The conference hotel Seminaris in Bad Honnef was built in 1986 and offers 211 rooms over 5 floors. There are 18 large meeting rooms, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and sauna. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. In the lobby of the hotel there is a stele of a mounted Roman soldier. At walking distance you find the Rhine River and the Drachsenfels where Siegfried – the hero of the Nibelungen – killed the dragon Fáfnir. Our room was adequately furnished and decorated with desk, chair & safe, flat-screen TV and wardrobe. We had a good twin bed, and a separate bathroom with toilet, washroom & shower. All was clean. The window can be open but has no mosquito screen. Free Wi-Fi Internet. No free coffee & tea nor free parking. The buffet breakfast is OK with ample variety: powder based scrambled eggs, cold cuts, bread and rolls, juices, cereals, fruit, milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea & coffee. The atmosphere in the Seminaris hotel is conference & business style and we had an OK stay.

Despite the fair, € 180,00 - bucket price for these rooms! Convertised living house Hello-hearted windows poorly isolated rooms ice cold (in the evening and in the night heating runs to 0!) Bed deck too thin and kine extra deck in the room photos NOT correspond to the rooms! photos of L rooms are shown at M! On all portals. Rooms M as small (not possible to leave bags open!) as S, only varies in size of the bed. Deco on photos not available In reality Not clean (bathroom: urine traces at the toilet, fungus in the shower), gum at kitchen door, flirts on the table and bathroom door. Despite agreed early check-in the room was not ready No shower gel and shampoo No depot area in the bathroom No towels for example unpacked, old tea bags sticks behind bed, not useable. Extension cable was not available Although there were rooms available on portals, I was told when asked for a change, the hotel was completely located ... Location - though cheaply located to the railway station, But through the drinking hall in the neighborhood also some strange ”designs” in the street .... I was professional, but not because of a fair in food, but despite the fair - the price for these rooms and these services was an absolute bucking price. College has been charged here for €40,00 and more is not worth this hotel / room! Positive: fast internet Nespresso machine staff struggling for a further stay emir is offered an upgrade, but I will not be in this hotel return

Booked via booking. Parking is not provided. The nearest underground is 500m. The check-in system via the machine at the entrance didn't work. It spent a lot of time. Then the hotel guests said it was a normal story, and that you should call the hotel representative. Resepshn only until 15.00. After our call we began to give advice how to use the machine, but the machine didn't work. We were promised that the hotel will come in 5 minutes. Waited 15 minutes. Then he opened the machine and took out a card for settlement to the room. After us the same difficulties were with other guests. The room is very compact and hot. The window in the yard/to the wall 20 cm/.There is no air conditioner. Awful noise from the ventilation mechanism of the neighboring building 24 hours a day. The night was sleepless. The request for a change of room was refused. We were forced to stay for the second night, as the room was paid in advance. Well, the small things. There was no toilet paper/taken in the general toilet/, broken lamp in the bed/ after the recepshchn was repaired/, the coffee machine is common, not in the room, the pillows ...... nowhere have met such small.

Very good location, clean and spacious room. The bed was quite comfortable. Contact with the service was very good and via WhatsApp very uncomplicated . When you arrive with the car, it makes sense to book a deep garage parking in the hotel. The costs are very low with about €15. In the room it was very warm. Unfortunately the room had no air conditioning and cross-air was not possible. The lift in the back building was defect so the whole baggage had to be brought to the higher floor.

Stayed here for three nights to visit Dortmund for the first time. Hotel has a great location in the middle of the city, close to the train station, and underground parking is a big plus. Had a nice street view from my room on the 5th floor. Rooms are nice and spacious. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, but maybe a bit too expensive. Would definitely come back here on my next trip to Dortmund.

Excellent location in the Belgian Quarter, the nicest district in the city. Excellent beds, nice kitchenette (only boil eggs in a large soup pot ;-)), spacious room, clean, neat bathroom (water pressure very low, shower with a faint trickle). There was a lot of noise on the street at night until 5 am, mainly from nightlife crowds (and also traffic). Below our window, there are benches on the square under the tree, a group of young people with liquor bottles, loud voices and regular music from ghetto blasters, both nights. We hardly slept a wink for 2 nights. That's why we left for home on Sunday instead of Monday morning. The front rooms should be less expensive for this major inconvenience. The room was way too warm, so we wanted to sleep with the windows open, but that was impossible because of the noise. We turned off all the radiators, but that hardly helped, there is no air conditioning. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper (and some that was still on an opened roll) for 3 nights for 2 people (folding). That is far too little! The coffee is not drinkable, luckily we brought our own Nespresso cups. It would be useful if there was an extra shelf under the sink for the toiletries. The radiators in the hallways were also on full blast, way too hot and a waste of energy! The entrance and stairwell look shabby, the corridors where the rooms are located are neat.

The procedure, exclusively digital and personally, is customary and not ”my thing”, but for that you get a nice room for little money. The suite in 4. The floor was large, clean, well and modernly furnished and very quiet despite the location in the center. Only two sticks did not work and the water flow in the washing basin was almost completely stuck. Normally, you would report this at the reception, but unfortunately it was not available.

Well, the apartment is good, a bit bigger than a normal hotel room, but by no means ample. There are some irritating failures of design: Most pulling knobs are difficult to pull, being a smooth cylinder or similar. Only the fridge door has a proper pulling shape, so they were aware of the usefulness of the design, but chose not to do it on the rest. Also, the microwave has a grill, but also a notice on the door that says never to use the grill because it will start the fire alarm ??? Easier to buy non-grill microwaves, I'd say. They have something about fire alarms, because they make you sign a document where you declare to know about them and specify the fines for setting one accidentally. It discourages you from cooking at all :-) Also the bed can be raised and you get a sofa . The bed surface is one plank, it's comfortable, but the two ”arms” of the sofa are long and hard, easy to hit in the night if you rise from the bed. But these are generally minor inconveniences. The apartment looks clean in general, but there was a big exception. We noticed during the first night a strong old-sweat smell when in the bed. Investigation proved it to come from the mattress protector, which was also a bit brown when we took the sheet out. Clearly it hadn't been washed. I don't know what is the general policy in hotels about mattress protectors, but this one was obviously dirty, and they didn't wash it. We didn't take the issue to the management, we were tired, we just took the mattress protector away and slept without problems afterwards. So we don't know which would have been the reaction to this. but that shouldn't happen anyway.
