Daocheng Yading, also known as Yading Nature Reserve, is known by locals as Aden Scenic Area. Located in the southern part of Daocheng County in Ganzi Prefecture, it is mainly composed of three mountains, Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong, and Xianuoduoji, as well as surrounding rivers, lakes, and alpine meadows. There are not only magnificent and sacred snow-capped mountains in the scenic area, but also vast meadows, colorful forests, and blue crystal clear lakes. Hiking on foot like the local Tibetans is a better way to experience the scenery in Yading. However, due to the high altitude of the Aden Protected Area, the entire walk still requires considerable physical fitness.China · Daocheng County

Xindu Bridge, also known as East Russia, is located at the fork of the Sichuan-Tibet North-South Line of National Highway 318. It is known as "a photographer's paradise". Here you can take pictures of boundless meadows, winding streams, golden autumn leaves, large areas of cattle and sheep foraging on the hillside, and scattered Tibetan villages. The shutter can produce a beautiful landscape photo. Play in Xinduqiao and appreciate her unparalleled charm, where mountains, water, trees, cattle and grass are intertwined, you will feel as if you are in a pastoral landscape painting. No wonder it is known as "the world of light and shadow" and "photographer's paradise". No one will take Xinduqiao as the end of a trip, it is just a post on the road to Tibet. It can be reached in one day from Chengdu along National Road 318, and then go north on National Road 317 (North Sichuan-Tibet Line) or continue westward on National Road 318 (South Sichuan-Tibet Line).Kangding · 46.1 km from Yajiang

The Sichuan Museum is located in the Chengdu Huanhuaxi historical and cultural scenic area. Relocated to its current site in 2009, it covers an area of 80 mu and is a national first-class museum integrating collection, research, conservation, exhibition, and education. The museum boasts a rich collection of cultural relics, with particular strengths in bronze ware, calligraphy and painting, stone carving, ceramics, ethnic folk artifacts, and revolutionary relics. Additionally, museum education provides the public with a resource and channel for lifelong learning. The museum pioneered the establishment of a museum education research institute, a mobile museum, and a home-school-museum alliance in China, creating a new model for cultural and educational collaboration. Over the years, it has developed over 200 research courses, launched more than 20 themed routes, and trained 916 "junior on-site guides." The Sichuan Museum is divided into three floors. The first floor is a temporary exhibition hall that hosts various thematic exhibitions year-round, with themes and contents changing periodically. We recommend you follow the official WeChat account for exhibition updates. The second floor is the core area for understanding Sichuan's ancient history, featuring an educational interactive space. It primarily focuses on bronzeware, pottery and porcelain, as well as pictorial bricks and stone carvings. "Ancient Sichuan - The prehistoric period" exhibition outlines the reproduction, cultural integration of ancient humans in the Sichuan Basin and showcases the formation process of early civilization in the region through over 340 cultural relics. "Ancient Sichuan - The pre-Qin period" exhibition presents the epic development history of the ancient Ba and Shu regions through 200 precious artifacts, combined with historical documents and recent archaeological findings, recreating the splendor of Ba-Shu civilization over two thousand years ago. The third floor is the special exhibition and experience area, which also continues the general history exhibition from the second floor, presenting the complete ancient history of Sichuan. We recommend learning about the specific content of the special thematic exhibitions on-site. Meanwhile, you can purchase unique cultural and creative products in the cultural and creative experience area and experience cultural creativity. It also features a space for museum volunteer-related activities.China · Chengdu

Kuanzhai Alley

Kuanzhai Alley is a well-preserved ancient block from the Qing Dynasty in Chengdu. Originally part of the old Manchu city where Eight Banner soldiers and their families lived, it now consists of three parallel old streets—Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley—along with their courtyard houses. With gray brick walls and varied gate designs, the area blends the charm of Sichuanese residential courtyards with the layout of northern hutongs. Each alley has its own character: Kuan Alley embodies "leisurely living," with old teahouses, hotpot restaurants, and private Sichuan cuisine spots tucked away in courtyards; Zhai Alley represents "slow living," featuring cafes and bookshops converted from traditional houses; Jing Alley focuses on "new living," with relatively fewer crowds. A several-hundred-meter-long brick cultural wall, pieced together with old bricks and historical photos, showcases Chengdu's street memories and is worth a closer look. Teahouse lounging is a classic pastime here—order a cup of Mengshan yellow bud tea and listen to the elderly at the next table spinning yarns from their bamboo chairs. You can also request an ear cleaning from a "comfort ear practitioner," whose gentle techniques bring tingling relaxation, making it a must-try for many travelers. For photos, don't miss the arched gateway of "Kailu" at No. 11 Wide Alley, one of the most distinctive courtyard entrances in the area. When lanterns light up at night, bars and snack stalls buzz with energy, creating a vibrant contrast to the daytime leisure—another flavor of Chengdu to savor.China · Chengdu

Dukezong Ancient Town is located in the southeast of Shangri-La, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and was built by the Tubo Kingdom during the Tang Dynasty. "Dukezong" is a Tibetan pronunciation, meaning "moonlight city" and "a castle built on stones." The ancient town is built along the mountain, with stone-paved roads following the natural terrain. To this day, even hoof prints can still be seen on the stone roads, relics left by ancient horse caravans over time. The architectural layout of the ancient town resembles an eight-petal lotus, with Moonlight Square at its center, surrounded by rustic Tibetan-style wooden houses where locals live peacefully. To the west of the square stands Great Turtle Mountain, also known as Dukezong Ancient Town - Turtle Mountain Park,GuishanThe top features the world's largest prayer wheel, which holds a Guinness World Record. Dukezong Ancient Town - northwest side of Guishan ParkSifang StreetEvery evening, the Tibetan Guozhuang dance always attracts a large number of tourists to join in. If you happen to encounter it, be sure to participate in this joyful experience. The courtyard on the north side of Moonlight Square is the "Diqing Prefecture Red Army Long March Museum." At the entrance of the museum stands the Central Town Hall, built during the Qing Dynasty, also known asScripture hall, the architectural style blends Han, Tibetan, and Naxi elements, offering considerable aesthetic value. South of the Long March Museum stands the Diqing Prefecture Museum, displaying Neolithic artifacts and Tibetan medical exhibits—worth a visit for observation. Most of the residences in the ancient town have been converted into inns, restaurants, and shops. The shops sell local specialties like Tibetan knives, yak meat, and Tibetan accessories. The meals in restaurants are mostly Sichuan cuisine and Tibetan dishes, with yak meat hotpot, butter tea, and tsampa being must-tries.China · Shangri-La

Jinli Ancient Street is a well-known pedestrian commercial street in Chengdu. It consists of large antique buildings with architectural styles of the late Qing Dynasty and numerous bars and restaurants. The famous Wuhou Temple is another well-known attraction nearby. People generally visit Wuhou Temple before coming over to Jinli Ancient Street. Both sides of the street sell small ornaments with local characteristics and many old Chengdu craftsmen can be seen busy blowing sugar paintings and dough figurines. The huge variety of food available on site can make you drool too - Zhang Fei beef, beancurd pudding, beef pancake, bobo chicken, etc. Each of them has its unique flavor so please go there with an empty stomach! The street also comes alive at night as red lanterns light up and visitors fill the bars and teahouses. You can fill your tummies with street food and head to the bars or teahouses after that for some alcohol or tea depending on your preferences.China · Chengdu

Feel the dense shade of Lushan Mountain. There are more than 10 ancient temples of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, including Guangfu Temple, Sanjiao Temple, Mengduan Temple, Zushi Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Queen Mother Hall, Qingyang Palace, Yuhuang Hall and Wuzu Temple, which were built in the Han, Tang, Ming and Qing dynasties. Although the religious rules and philosophical thoughts are different, they can live in harmony in the same mountain for thousands of years, each teaching its own religion, which is rare in China. Lushan, also known as Frog Mountain, is located 5 kilometers south of Xichang City. It is adjacent to Qionghai Lake and rises from the ground. With the momentum of "half of the wall supports the sky, Ningcheng is a painting screen", it forms one of the major Attraction in southwest Sichuan with Qionghai Lake and is known as the "Southern Sichuan Scenic Spot". Located on the south bank of Qionghai Lake 5 kilometers south of Xichang City, it is one of the provincial scenic spots in Sichuan. Lushan Mountain is 2,317 meters above sea level. It is adjacent to the mirror-like Qionghai Lake in the east, the winding and beautiful Anning River in the west, the historical ancient city of Xichang in the north, and the towering Luoji Mountain in the south. There are towering ancient trees on the mountain, especially lush pine trees. The ancients used "pine wind, water and moon" to describe the scenery of Lushan and Qionghai Lake, that is, the pine trees of Lushan Mountain, the wind of Anning River, the water of Qionghai Lake, and the moon of Xichang.China · Xichang

The Eighteen Bends of the Sky Road is located on the Jianziwan Mountain on National Highway 318. The Tibetan name of Jianziwan Mountain is "Remanaza", which means Sheep Pass. The pass is about 4,659 meters above sea level. Although it does not exceed 5,000 meters, it is also the highest pass on National Highway 318 through the Kangba area. In order to facilitate tourists to rest and view the scenery here, an observation deck is built on the pass. When a drone is raised to overlook, the Eighteen Bends of the Sky Road has a shocking curvaceous beauty. The winding mountain road is like a giant dragon hovering in the mountains, giving people a sense of panoramic view of thousands of mountains and valleys.

This is the Yajiang River Valley. The scenery along the plateau is infinitely beautiful! The magic of nature. The beauty of the Yajiang River is already amazing, and the sapphire blue of Yanghu Lake is simply breathtaking. Plus the black rocks here, the scenery is still superb. Although the journey is difficult, it is worth it.

Light and shadow + snow-capped mountains + Tibetan villages + yak hot pot: capture the essence of Western Sichuan in one trip! 📍Xinduqiao is not a tourist attraction, but a small town in western Ganzi and Kangding, at the intersection of G318 and G248 highways, a must-stop station on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Beauty lies in its 10+ kilometer scenic corridor: golden poplars, streams, Tibetan villages, and snow-capped mountains, like a flowing oil painting. Lenggacuo offers views of Gongga Mountain's reflection; a clear day is ideal. 🍄Local Experience In July and August, go mushroom picking with a guide. Open blind boxes of porcini and oak mushrooms, and cook fresh mushroom soup back at your guesthouse. ⚠️Don't eat anything you don't recognize! 🐎 Horse riding in Tagong; 🏠 Ask permission before visiting a Tibetan village and drinking butter tea; 🛏️ Tibetan-style guesthouses have oxygen-filled underfloor heating, and snow-capped mountains visible from the windows. 🍲 Highland Flavors · 🍲 Yak meat hot pot: The soul of the meal! We were very fortunate to have celebrity teacher Du Gang as our guide, and we avoided the peak admission period, so it wasn't crowded at all. Without a teacher's explanation, it's easy to miss the main points and rush through the exhibits. Teacher Du's explanation was very easy to understand, humorous, and focused. There were so many exhibits that we felt like we didn't have enough time. I hope to have the opportunity to hear Teacher Du's explanation again after the Sichuan Museum finishes setting up the exhibits from the Song Dynasty onwards.

Perfect for a leisurely stroll, sampling street snacks, and experiencing Chengdu’s culture. We bought some of the tea pastry and tea leaves and shop for some panda souvenirs there. We have our lunch in one of the Sichuan cuisine restaurant in the narrow alley which the food is pretty good. There is a cat souvenir shop named Mao Mao Yao which sells lovely handmade ceramic cat product. We bought some fridge magnets before going back to our hotel.

We were picked up by a private car, and the place felt like a self-entertaining hot pot restaurant; it was packed. There were local performances to watch, and the host was quite humorous. They gave us hada (ceremonial scarves) at the entrance, and the recommended butter tea was delicious.

I was lucky enough to see a rainbow. There are surprises everywhere in life. Behind the dark clouds is the sun, and behind the sun is the rainbow. I still believe that the sun always comes after the wind and rain. Only by climbing to the top of the mountain can you see more beautiful scenery.

Taking the cable car up the mountain saves energy, while the toboggan ride down adds to the fun. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Qionghai Lake – the scenery is beautiful. There are many monkeys on the mountain, and feeding them is quite fun, just be careful.
