Highland Resort & Spa Hotel is at excellent location, the express bus station from Tokyo is right by the door step. Although there is a theme park next door it didn’t seem to be open or busy. I booked a room for 3 nights with Mt Fuji view. And I was lucky enough to wake up to view of Mt. Fuji for 2 days. On the day I checked out, there was heavy snow, and I couldn’t see anything out of my window. Hotel has a very big Onsen connected to the it which is free for hotel guest. Hotel had a few restaurants, the buffet breakfast was very good. The macron club Restaurant serves lovely Italian cuisine and a few Asian dishes. I had a very delicious lunch there.  Highland Hotel is closed to Kawaguchi Lake and Yamanakako lake.

I stayed here on a solo trip. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations beforehand. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people, so I was able to relax and enjoy the large public bath and sauna. Before my bath, I had curry and boiled dumplings at the restaurant on the second floor. I still felt a bit hungry after my bath, so I went to an izakaya on the second floor. The portions were good and tasty for the price, and they're open until midnight, so I had the luxurious experience of eating and drinking to my heart's content and then going straight to bed in my room. It's a facility I'd definitely like to return to.

This hotel is located south of Lake Kawaguchiko, which isn't the most popular area. It's also quite old, dating back to 1887. However, the facilities and maintenance are up to par, and the hotel has a distinct, traditional Japanese style that exudes a historical sense of luxury. A wonderful surprise was that all the mountain-view rooms offer an unobstructed and stunning view of Mount Fuji, truly unique and beautiful, peaceful and serene. It's definitely worth staying here. Even though the hotel isn't in a prime location around Lake Kawaguchiko, they provide a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko train station, which takes about 10 minutes. Another highlight for me was the hot springs. The male and female baths are separate, extremely clean, and quite modern. There are indoor and outdoor baths; the outdoor setting is particularly relaxing. The contrast between the warm spring water and the cold outdoor air creates a comfortable feeling of embracing nature with an open heart. However, it's not advisable to stay in the springs for too long; I was back in my room within twenty minutes. The hot spring experience is definitely one of my fondest memories of this hotel. For dinner, the hotel offers French cuisine and Kaiseki. We ordered one of each. They were decent, but the presentation and dining experience were very impressive. Right behind the hotel is the lake, where you can rent bicycles and cycle around, enjoying the beautiful scenery. All in all, this hotel was excellent and exceeded my expectations.

Although it's a bit far from the station, for less than 500 [currency, e.g., JPY], you can use their hot springs for free! They even have outdoor hot springs. There's a 24-hour convenience store nearby, and they also offer dinner, which is very plentiful. It greatly exceeded my expectations! The only downside is the distance from the station, but if you don't have much luggage, it's perfectly fine. There's an observation deck at Fuji-san Station, but unfortunately, I didn't get to see the summit at the time.

The hotel is absolutely amazing. I loved everything, from beautiful location and Fuji-san views to the hotel design, wonderful rooms, beautiful garden, wine lounge, onsen with Fuji-san view, kaiseki dinners, attention to details and wonderful stuff. The hotel has touched my soul. I feel so blessed to have the experience of staying in this place and truly wish to be back again next year. Arigatou gozaimasu!

The hotel location is great, right by Lake Kawaguchiko, and it's a ten-minute walk to the train station. Downstairs, there's a restaurant street, a Lawson convenience store, and even a smoking area, plus it's very close to the cable car station. The hotel is a bit old, but it has a lot of character. It also has a hot spring, and the free bath was so relaxing. It was my first time staying in a tatami room, which was quite interesting. The best part is that the hotel fee includes breakfast and dinner, which were both delicious and exquisitely prepared! I'd definitely consider staying here again next time.

🌸 Hotel Mifujien – A Front Row Seat to Mt. Fuji’s Majesty If you’re looking for unparalleled views of Mt. Fuji, look no further than Hotel Mifujien. Nestled right beside Lake Kawaguchiko, this hotel offers one of the most photogenic and soul-soothing panoramas of Japan’s most iconic peak. 🗻 The View: Absolutely Breathtaking The highlight of our stay was the view — and it’s no exaggeration. Whether it’s early morning when the summit catches the first rays of sunlight, or during a serene sunset, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Kawaguchiko is simply unforgettable. I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint. ⸻ 🚶♂️ Getting There: Worth the Scenic Walk Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day. ⸻ 🛏 Tatami Rooms: Authentic and Comfortable The tatami-style room was clean, spacious, and gave us a deeply authentic Japanese lodging experience. Sliding doors, futon beds, and traditional touches made our stay both relaxing and culturally immersive. ⸻ ♨️ Hot Springs: Cozy, Not Crowded The hotel features both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). While not particularly large, they are a nice bonus to unwind after a day of exploring. Since they only accommodate a few people at a time, it’s best to avoid peak hours. ⸻ 🍱 Meals: Included and Delicious Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was outstanding. A beautifully arranged kaiseki-style dinner showcased seasonal ingredients, fresh sashimi, grilled seafood, and hot pots. Breakfast was equally satisfying with a variety of small dishes and a perfectly cooked grilled fish. Everything was crafted with care and served with hospitality. ⸻ 📝 Suggestions: • Bring a tripod if you’re planning to do photography or time-lapses — the view is too good not to capture properly. • Try both the indoor and outdoor onsen during quiet hours to fully enjoy the experience. • Use the shuttle service if you’re carrying large luggage, as the walk (while scenic) do take around 30 minutes. ⸻ ⭐ Final Verdict: 9/10 Hotel Mifujien is all about the view — and it delivers. Combine that with great meals, clean traditional rooms, and hot springs, and you have the perfect base to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory.

WWinWin 小豆An unexpectedly delightful stay! The hotel facilities were incredibly spacious. The room was huge, and our mountain-view room offered views of Mount Fuji. The hotel features a hot spring bath with multiple relaxation areas, offering not only ice water but also fruit vinegar. The lobby floor has a lounge that's open in the afternoon and evening, providing a variety of snacks (dried fruits, cheese, crisps, candies), soft drinks, juices, and various alcoholic beverages. You can stargaze on the rooftop, surrounded by a spectacular 180-degree starry sky. The breakfast area has two sections, offering a wide array of breakfast items and desserts. A thoughtful touch: the front desk even calls your room before breakfast ends to remind you to eat! 👍 Furthermore, the children's play area is excellent, spanning two half-levels with balls, board games, books, a board game section, a small toy truck area, and large climbing play structures. It's truly perfect for families with children. 😍😍 I recommend checking in a bit early. 😊

GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

CcyberparasSuper place, very nicely furnished and private onsen, fully serviced hotel with full privacy and attended service kind hospitality, Although limited western options for breakfast, very nicely and chef prepared Japanese cousins and with prior intimation, took full care for nice vegetarian Japanese food, completely private area for breakfast and dinner and with timed reservations, Overall a luxurious experience, Although can’t see Fuji from any of the room nor from anywhere in the hotel, mountain can be seen as soon as outside, lots of restaurants of all kind in walking distance, Lawson convenience store just two mins by foot, overall excellent location and super comfort, full privacy and good hospitality, International staff and sometimes get a feeling that too many staff members rather flocking towards the guest which was at a times bit overwhelming but that is how it is, stringent about breakfast etc timings but that was fine, Ofcourse expensive but worth sometimes!
