It was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

It was a perfect stay at Bessho Sasa my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family (I travelled with my 88-year old mum so we had quite a lot of needs) with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.

One thing that’s best - Mount Fuji view when the weather is good. It seemed like just right in front of you. No matter from the room or the 4th floor restaurant where we had our breakfast or even the open rooftop. Rooms was clean, top class in-room amenities provided, very good buffet breakfast with scenic view overlooking Mount Fuji and staffs were friendly and helpful. We got free parking in front of the hotel throughout our 2 nights stay. There were so much you could do while staying at this hotel. Whether you want to enjoy the beautiful Mount Fuji with coffee brew in your room, or get discounted price + early entry to the amusement park right beside the hotel, or enjoy the onsen hot pool next to the hotel. They even send us to the top of Fujiyama Tower complimentary and there you’ll have a stunning view of Mount Fuji and the amusement park, plus you’re able greet to the riders of the king of coaster when it pass by. Highly recommended!

Probably one of the most kids friendly hotels I’ve ever been to. The entire basement is full of kids activities and the highlight is the massive wooden playhouse. Third floor has multiple game rooms (train room, music room, wooden ball runs) and a big japanese style tatami communal lounge with boardgames, free flow drinks and snacks at certain timing. There are even rental of potty seats, high chairs etc FOC. However, we went late March and the surrounding areas are mostly closed. We almost couldn’t find a restaurant to eat past 8pm. Makiba park and Moegi village were closed too. I’d suggest going at the non-peak period for more activities outside of the hotel, make your 4-hr drive from Tokyo worthwhile! The rooms are old Japanese style, slightly dated but spacious and clean. Hot spring is more like a big bathhouse. Staff are friendly and helpful. Keep it up!

For any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

This hotel has amazing views! You open the window and there's Mount Fuji right in front of you! The shuttle service is very convenient. There's a hot spring downstairs, and it even has an outdoor area, which is super relaxing! The hotel is located near the lake, so if you have time, I highly recommend spending a day walking around Lake Kawaguchiko – the scenery is absolutely worth it!

Service staff were efficient, although queueing to trade your keys for your shoes slowed things down. (Understandable, because this is also a day-trip onsen, so the hotel needs to ensure all tabs are covered before letting guests go.) Facilities were old but well-maintained, although my room window couldn't be closed without force. Wide variety of baths to choose from, and convenient hours. Note that there is no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in guestrooms, as this is an onsen facility - all soaps and bath amenities are provided in the onsen area. Several onsite restaurants providing many food options, which made up for the lack of vegetarian-friendly options around the area.

Fuji Lake Hotel is situated right on the shores of Lake Kawaguchiko. On one side, you're treated to the magnificent silhouette of Mount Fuji, and on the other, breathtaking lake views. In the early morning, the lake is often shrouded in a light mist, with the mountain's outline subtly emerging. Evenings bring stunning sunsets, casting a golden glow over the water, creating a tranquility that truly takes your breath away. The hotel's courtyard is a picturesque scene with vibrant maple leaves contrasting beautifully with the evergreen pines. What truly made an impression, however, was every single staff member. From the polite greetings of the doorman, who also ensured our luggage was in our room before we arrived, to the front desk staff who patiently and thoroughly explained the hotel's operating hours (a special thank you to Mr. Oishi for his enthusiastic introduction to the hotel facilities). When we returned to the hotel on a rainy day, we were offered towels, and there was hot tea available in the lobby. The restaurant staff were very professional. During our four-night stay, our room was consistently spotless every time we returned (many thanks to the housekeeping team). Upon check-out, staff saw us off at the door, waving goodbye. Every detail was handled with such care, making us feel genuinely welcome. Fuji Lake Hotel didn't just leave us with memories of Mount Fuji's reflection; it left us with the gentlest encounters of our journey.

The room is incredibly spacious, and the bathtub easily fits 3-4 people, even 5 if needed. The service was exceptional from start to finish. We were greeted at the entrance upon arrival and had a car escort us directly when we left. The environment is also lovely; even though it's not right on the lake and you might not see mountains, it doesn't really matter since it gets dark anyway. The room's interior environment is fantastic.
