Nice cosy hotel - clean and functional room. TV has Netflix. Carpark is at the mall where the hotel is located in. Location is further from the castle but isn’t a major issue. Convenient next to train station.

Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent. Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal. NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful! The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan. The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel. I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.

Quite far from train station. 15-20 minutes with fast walking. Plenty of traffic lights on the way. This chain has a serious issue with breakfasts. Many dishes are cold, even scrambled eggs, and greasy. Air conditioner blows way too much, even when turned off. Difficult to sleep. The only option is to open a window, which doesn't entirely solve the issue. Hotel itself is very clean.

I'm a big fan of onsen hotels and tried almost 10 different onsen hotels so far in Japan and this one is definitely the biggest one, even though its not that Japanese style and a bit old overall. The cave onsen (it has 2) is awesome!!! And have a deck to see sunset and ocean view. The turtle boat is cute.

The staff were all very friendly and polite, which made our stay even better. However, the hotel's location is next to the beach, which means you have to climb a slope to get there. It is also quite far from the JR station, and the only public transportation available is a 30-minute bus ride. Additionally, there are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so you might want to plan ahead for meals.

She was a very gentle and lovely lady🫶🏻 💙Full sea view room: Because I was in Shirahama for 3 days and 2 nights in total, I planned to book a cheaper room on the first night and booked late. There was only the last Japanese-style room. I used Ctrip points and the room price was less than 1,000, but it was really a surprise🤩! The Japanese-style room is very spacious, and there is a bed-making service at night. The highlight is this first-line sea view balcony🌊, which is worth the price! And the bathrooms are all newly renovated~ 🩶Hot spring hotel: If the only thing this hotel lacks is that there is no outdoor hot spring, everything else can be given full marks. On the left hand side of the hotel is Nagakyu Izakaya, and a little further ahead is Lawson convenience store.

There are many Shanghai compatriots staying in the hotel. Although the price is a bit expensive, it is worth it to experience the hot springs. The transportation is also convenient. There is a bus at the door of the hotel. It is still worth it to see the tuna splitting display and buy the best part of the sashimi in the toretore market.

The Japanese-style room of this hotel can accommodate up to 4 people, which is very suitable for our travel combination of one person and two children. The Japanese room is charged per person, and if 3 people stay, they will be charged for 3 people. The room faces the sea directly, the scenery is good, and the hot spring is also a sea view hot spring. There is no one at all, and the experience is very good. The overall feeling is good.

Close to Bus stop, Lawson and many restaurant nearby. Staff are very nice and helpful. Room is fairly clean but it smells like its not yet been used for a while, old and not eough air flow. Even the air freshener machine cant help. Also, there is no lift to annex building, be aware if you carry large suitcase.

The seaside room is very large, clean and comfortable, with an open-air footbath. Although the bath is not too big, the environment is comfortable. The resting area is large, with a library, massage machine, etc. There are free drinks, alcohol, soda and coffee in the lobby and rest room. The food in the restaurant is rich and delicious. I booked breakfast and dinner, both in buffet style. You can cook your own fish for breakfast and steam seafood for dinner.

Nothing impressive, small and dark. Okay for a single guy , not sure about ladies. Close to Wakayama-Shi station, so getting around is easy. Rooms have no view, just looking at pipes dripping water. Room smells of smoke. Toilets are hard to get into as they are ‘caravan size’ toilets and showers. The bath tub is very high, not ideal for elderly folks as the showers are installed within. They do have a ioniser and demister in the room to get rid of bad air and foul smoke smell but not very effective. If you plan to spend most of the day out, it’s ideal.

The facilities in the room are very complete, including refrigerators, microwaves, toothbrushes, combs, and these disposable items. The check-in procedure is simple and fast. When checking out, you only need to insert the room card into the machine. Leaving the hotel is very convenient and saves time on the road. When checking in, each room can choose five snacks, and each person can choose two machine drinks.

Very good value for money Excellent service, location and facilities. It was a family of four, and the size was reasonable, so I could relax comfortably.   Located right in front of the beach, the sound of waves, the sound of wind and the ocean view are more than ever staying at the hotel No !! It's very close to Osaka city and Marina City and other amusement parks. I fished on the beach in front of me and caught four red sea cucumbers. The breakfast was also very clean and delicious. I booked this treasure hotel for the Japanese-style room with sea view. It was my first time to Kata, a small seaside city with a particularly beautiful place. The Taiyu tram is very cute. The hotel has a free shuttle to Kata Station. You can call the hotel in advance to confirm the arrival time on the day. The car was not available until 9 o'clock the next morning, so I walked directly to the station in the morning and arrived in about 20 minutes. Baidu Maps is still very accurate. There are plain public yukatas and free gray split-toe socks in the room. If you like cute yukatas, you can choose one yourself in the lobby. The room is a bit like a circle, with a toilet, bathroom and a sofa facing the sea view on the outside. The Japanese tatami is in the box. The area is quite large. The tatami bedding will be laid out when you come in to eat. The hotel's hot spring faces the sunset, and I soaked for nearly an hour to wait for the sunset. The men's and women's baths will be switched in the morning and evening. The sunset at the seaside is really a great view. Dinner can be added, it is kaiseki cuisine, and there are really many sea bream dishes. If you have a chance, you must come to Kata in Wakayama
