We stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for 1 night. The location of the hotel was closed to Gion district and Nishiki market by bus. There is a bus stop outside the hotel where you can catch a bus to Kyoto station. The room was clean but very small in size as we expected. We stayed in a queen queen, and the bed was comfortable. The room was quiet, and the bathroom was clean . There is a public bath in the hotel, which is free to use, but we didn't manage to use it.

I have been going to Kyoto every year for over 10 years for a university seminar reunion. This was my first time booking through Trip.com, and the hotel was new and unfamiliar, but I was very satisfied. The hotel building is not that big, but the rooms are clean and spacious. I was alone and used the large public bath, so the glass door didn't bother me much. Breakfast was included, and there was a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes, and it was delicious. Perhaps because we had set a time when we checked in, it wasn't crowded and I was able to relax. The staff were also very friendly and I liked their service. The hotel is a little far from Shijo Kawaramachi and other areas, but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and there are many buses, and Nijo Station is less than 5 minutes away, so I recommend it. I would like to stay here again in Kyoto, and I would like to use it in other cities as well.

One of the best hotels we visited in Japan! Truly amazing experience. All visitors walk without shoes in the hotel but the floor was absolutely clean and nice. Excellent baths, massage chairs, breakfast (in the photo) and complementary ramen & ice cream. The room and the hotel as well were in Japanese style which was perfect for us. 11 minutes from shinkansen railway station, 7 minutes from subway, 30-40 minutes by foot to Gyon. Smoking room was available however it was pretty small but ok. What could be improved: more cleaning in the bathing area in dressing room. More massage chairs would be nice as it was pretty crowded due to people waiting in queues. One woman left her child in the massage chair with ipad “for hours” so it was impossible for other visitors to use it. Overall, fascinating hotel and we will 100% sure come back!

I travelled to Japan for 20th time over the past many years. Been to Kyoto three times, this is one of the better hotel in times of value for money. The hotel provides good breakfast, clean onsen, cleaning services and a coin laundry. If coming from KIX, the airport bus stops directly opposite the hotel. The hotel location is perfect, where it is just across the JR station. As Kyoto is mainly using bus, the main bus terminal is within walking distance. The breakfast is good- warm porridge, with local Kyoto dishes, bread, mochi, etc. so much variety. Staffs are friendly and ready to help. The only thing is that the bathroom is small, but that could be mitigated by the onsen. Been to Japan countless times, I will definitely book this hotel again should I visit Kyoto! One of the better value for money hotel.

Not a bad hotel to stay in. There is a complimentary drink for each guest per stay in the hotel. The concept is towards minimalist, comfortable beds and fairly sound proof. The twin room is consider hire spacious. There is a sauna and onsen (male/female switched in alternate days), but we didn’t utilise. The toilet Is a bit dark and wash basin is situated outside. Check in is at 17:00hrs and check out is before 14:00hrs. It’s good for guests who are catching a later flight. Staff are wonderful and very helpful.

Love love love this hotel! Pros: - The room was so modern, clean and spacious! For frequent travellers to Japan, you would definitely know how rare it is to find a spacious hotel! - Many and sufficient toiletries are provided. - There are hotspring (public bath). - Location is good (near to Gojo station). There are also direct buses to places like Gion, Kiyomizu Dera. - There is a convenient store downstairs. Cons: - Gojo station is a subway line. So if you are travelling here from Osaka, you may be alighting at other stations along the main line instead. Thus, you may need to carry your luggage and walk slightly longer to the hotel. - No popsicle is provided (usually comes with hotspring?)

My stay at Mercure Kyoto Miyazu Resort & Spa was incredible! The classic Japanese-style room was beautifully designed with tatami mats and a serene ambiance, offering a perfect blend of tradition and comfort. The ocean view from my room was breathtaking, and the onsen facilities were truly relaxing. The staff were warm and attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. The traditional Kyoto-style breakfast was a delightful highlight. I highly recommend this resort for a peaceful and luxurious getaway!

Another delightful stay at this hotel. Everyone at the reception desk was so helpful in making my stay a comfortable one. I would like to say a special thank you to Ami, the massage lady who did a great job in relaxing my tired body after doing the touristy things all day. I look forward to my next stay.

AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards. Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. MMs TCSelected Room: Harmony Suite A very clean and spacious room with a distinctive layout that boasts ample living space for a couple or family with small children. The big bathtub and plenty of natural light coming from the large windows were the major highlights of the room. Location: Prime location. Situated right next to Kyoto Station, it is a 1-minute walk from the hotel to the station. Staff: All staff members were very hospitable and gave you the best support they could when attending to requests. Gajamer was amazing! He helped us check-in and was very professional and polite in any possible way. Meals: We did not select any meal plans for this stay. Overall experience: A very pleasant stay, with all expectations met as shown in the photos and descriptions. Strongly recommended.

PPHYO PHYO WAI YANG YINGThis is a fantastic stay with Dusit Thani in Kyoto. We hooked 1 night since it is our last night before we returned home. Initially we booked premeir twins room for 3 persons however, the twin beds are not spacious to share . I feedback to the hotel manager about the concern and he suggested to upgrade to their suite room which is double the size. He gave me a good rate with extra bed in the livingroom at additional 49,000¥, thats fantastic offer ! It is spacious, have privacy for my teenage son and their beds are super comfortable and their bath tub are spacious for two persons . A definitely good stay to end our Japan Trip. Will stay here again

DDorit BoxerThis new hotel is so beautiful. The room is big and lovely and beds were very comfortable. The service exceptional. We only stayed 2 nights but would have loved to stay more. The location is amazing . As two women , we walked around easily, even in late hours. There are lots of cafe's and delicious things to eat around us. walking distance to nearly everything like Nishiki Market (錦市場 Nishiki Ichiba). The breakfast is western, with a rich buffet and also a la carte options like toast with avocado and scrambelled eggs , and only one of the options- Asian. I would add healthier options like wholewheat bread, more fruit , cooked vegetables and steamed rice. All in all it was an amzing stay! Can't wait to return , will definitele stay again !!

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the Sanjo Keihan station exit. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful to your needs. Upon checking in, we were given a room with two separate beds but we decided to upgrade to a room with a king bed for about SGD 40. The shopping district and many eateries are about 5-10mins walk away, lots and lots of good food. There’s a family mart across the hotel in case you wish to get some food stuff. Overall, we recommend staying at this hotel. Thank you all the staff for making our stay in Kyoto such a pleasant one.

GGuest UserMy wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

GGuest UserAmazing place to stay. Location is amazing, a lot of shopping options right next to the hotel. It is actually connected right next to a mall. Also, the hotel itself has a little supermarket and restaurants inside it‘s facilities. There is always a very pleasent smell in the service area and entrance and even though we didn‘t get to use the gym during our short stay, it seemed somewhat useable (not only for cardio)
