It is the best choice of hotel in Aomori!
The lounge (6/F) experience is definitely a bonus to your stay. A specific type of smoothies is provided every morning from 6 to 10am. You can also get fresh slices of Aomori apples from 3pm to 5pm, zero sugar beer from 5pm to 7pm, teas and apple juices.
Super easy access to the JR station as the hotel is located right above the building starting from 4/F. 1/F to 3/F are the JR stations and the adjacent shopping centre.
I booked this hot spring hotel because it looked so nice and located on the beach in the photos.
Thanks to the friendly staff, I had no inconveniences during my stay.
However, the following needs improvement.
1) Hot spring bath: The water in the two private jar baths in the open-air bath was too cold to use. Why didn't they refill the hot water?
2) Even if I feel thirsty while bathing, I can't drink water unless I go outside, which is inconvenient.
3) When I tried to apply for a train station pick-up service through Trip.com customer service, they said there was no such service. However, I was able to make a reservation when I went to Japan and called. Whose mistake was it, the Trip.com employee or the hotel employee???
4) The Trip.com customer service employee's response was too sloppy. Is it a language problem?
5) The hot spring water is good, and the outdoor hot spring has a sea view, so it's charming. Most of the cosmetics in the locker powder room are not refilled.
Very close to Hirosaki Castle, many restaurants nearby, and convenient parking.
The hot spring is on the top floor with a great view. The ramen for midnight snack is also delicious. The lobby has free apple juice. I would visit again.
Although I chose this ryokan as alternative place but it turned out it is my best stay so far. It is not far from Kuroishi and it is accessible by public transport.
Room is very spacious and has both a bathroom and a toilet.
Onsen is good. It has both indoor and outdoor ones. Usually it is not busy.
Food was great both dinner and breakfast.
Free flow of both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are also included. Very generous.
Staffs are very friendly, although their English are very limited.
Extra 150 yen per person for onsen tax. Cash term only.
Cashless payment is available.
Take JR from Hirosaki Station to Owani Onsen Station. There will be a shuttle bus to Hoshino when you arrive. You must make an appointment one day in advance. We forgot to make an appointment and talked to the kind Ctrip customer service. Finally, we added another bus. Thank you Ctrip customer service! The food is great, the open-air hot spring in the ice and snow is very good, and there are apple cider vinegar and popsicles to eat when you come out. There is a shamisen performance in the evening, you can listen to it!
The trip to Northeast Japan was booked right before Aomori-ya's usual room availability. On June 13, I took the Shinkansen from Akita to Morioka, then the Shinkansen to Hachinohe, and then the Aomori train to Misawa, dragging my suitcase to Aomori-ya.
This section takes about 15 minutes to walk, which is actually OK.
I checked in at 14:00 and waited until 15:00 to officially check in. According to the experience of Xiaohongshu, I immediately booked dinner and breakfast, dinner at 17:30 and breakfast at 8:30.
The Nebuta Festival requires hotel staff to go to work at 15:00 to book or scan the QR code to pay by credit card. I chose to book on the spot, 1800 yen for adults, but not for children. The seats are B3, 4, and 5, which are very spacious. It feels like one seat can accommodate two people. Finally, I paid the fee when I checked out.
The room in Aomori-ya is average, but the breakfast and dinner are great, and I have realized the freedom of scallops. I must book dinner!
I went to take a bath when I had nothing to do one day. The floating bath on the first floor is very big. It feels good to be outdoors. It is also quite interesting to have many people. It is open and not stuffy outdoors. The cool breeze is very chill. Everyone feels equal when they are naked [laughing and crying R]
The original bath is a bit boring. Because it is open to the public, it feels like a big bathhouse for nearby residents, but after taking a bath in the original bath, I feel that kind of mineral slippery.
On the second day, I went to the small park next to it. It was great for strolling and taking pictures. There was also a foot bath. It was very comfortable under the sun. There were towels for wiping feet in the cabinet next to it.
At night, the sleepy demon festival, just... watch the excitement, no photos or videos are allowed, about an hour, just as an experience.
Aomori-ya's three-day and two-night trip, every day is eating, drinking, bathing and drinking apple juice.
Aomori-ya is very good, I will go again next time!
Tip, there is no bed for children, you have to pay extra, but! Free bedding and pillows can be provided, which is enough.
3 nights stay is too long to enjoy the food diversity.
The menu of breakfast and dinner of each day were exactly identical.
The 1st night room wasn't good and paid extra money for a new view.
We were charged Y6000 per person per night.
Still don't understand why they charged per person not per room.
Anyhow the staff was excellent to help our request.
