No power for majority of our stay. This mean no air conditioning, no lifts to assist with luggage, no tv, hot water, working fridge or cooking facilities, no spa, limited gym, very dark passage ways and no lighting in car park and some stair wells. The onsite cafe was closed and even the pedal karts the kids wanted to use were all broken and not able to use.
Staff considering the issues were lovely and the resort itself was how we hoped, but needed up wasting our time and money for this stay. No offer of compensation or refund. Very disappointed.
It was unfortunate our hairdryer in our room exploded noted accident do happen and we have to move room in the middle of the night but we do love the place and the service was friendly and we noted they try to address and resolve our issues immediately. But was not a very pleasant experience that I had to face unfortunately………
We were disappointed with this hotel. We are having a 6 week tour staying at hotels and motels along the southern Australian coast. Standard wise, this was the worst. Hotel we had stayed in. We stayed twice (with a side trip in the middle). The first room was just not clean, the bathroom mirror was really smeary and the bedroom mirror was covered in hand prints. The carpet in the passageway of the 15th floor was filthy and also needed a good vacuum. On our second stay, the standard of clean in the room was not much better and we did not get any room service on the second day despite hanging the request card on the door.. on the positive side, the bed was comfy although you only get one large pillow. The hotel is conveniently located with a large precinct opposite, a short walk to the Quayside and trams taking you into the city without charge.
Really quiet location as it is right on the golf course.
Great views over the ocean if you fancy a walk.
Rooms have been newly refurbished with natural tones, soft lighting at headboard, comfortable bed with an array of pillows.
Central light panel controls all room lighting - have a play!
Really good desk space for work options, with desk light for ample lighting and power right there whilst working. No stretching of cords or having to share with the kettle.
TV with great reception live TV.
Spacious bathroom with toilet, large shower, large mirror and vanity space, 2 power points and sink. Reasonable water pressure and good temperature but could not tell which was hot or cold. Trial and error
Breakfast included is good and tasty, basic with eggs, bacon, baked beans, hash browns and fried rice, selection of different toast and banana bread, coffee, tea, juices. Could probably do with some fresh fruit as well as an offering.
Nice bush outlook at breakfast and plenty of seating.
I had a corner room so my view was not the best - disappointing!
The pool is beautiful and the spa is warm, even in the middle of August.
I would come back but better view next time as the hotel was not full midweek.
I would highly recommend a stay!

Very convenient location as it just 10mins walk to Melbourne central. The rmit university and swanston tram station right in front of the hotel building. Don’t have enough time to enjoy pool and sauna as it opens from 7am-9pm only. The only dissatisfied is I don’t know that the room service is provided. On the 4th night of our stay while we entered the room after one day trip, we realized that the cleaner has actually entered and cleaned our room without asking our permission. Imagine what if our goods have went missing, can the hotel management beared the cost of our loss? Please do not enter the room without inform customer, customer will ask for room cleaning if they really want the service.

The hotel is a 12-minute drive from the airport. The airport shuttle needs to be booked by phone or by contacting Trip.com customer service. Breakfast is the usual continental fare, pretty much what you'd expect from any Western hotel (as pictured). The swimming pool didn't look very clean. The guest laundry room requires a card for entry, and it's 4.5 AUD for one wash or dry cycle. Free parking is available. The room was recently renovated and looks quite new, with no lingering 'new renovation' smell. As for service, Australian hotels generally don't offer the same level of meticulous attention and service you'd find in a Chinese hotel. That simply doesn't exist here.

The restaurant is lovely and offers delicious food.
The rooms are quite comfortable.
The only downside is that they don’t provide in-room water.
Excellent choice if you have a night layover or if your flight is delayed.
We arrived late but we managed to pick up the keys. Thank you so much.
The toilet in the room is very cold during the June period. The heater in the room doesn't cover that space. The water could also be a little warmer during winter. We had turned the tap to the max and found the water lukewarm.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at the RACV Goldfields Resort this past weekend. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful — they really made us feel at home. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with stunning grounds that are perfect for a peaceful walk or simply taking in the scenery.
Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. The facilities are excellent — from the relaxing outdoor areas to the well-equipped amenities, everything felt top-notch. Although our stay was short, it was the perfect little escape, and we left feeling refreshed.

CChoo Choo TrainAmazing stay, with an amazing gym and delicious breakfast. The lobby bar is amazing with some very yummy prawn pasta as well.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a bit old, but its location is a big plus – super convenient for shopping! The bed was comfy and soft, and the in-room facilities were well-equipped. No one offered to help with luggage, and the hotel has two entrances, but the staff didn't tell me which one was easier for catching a ride. When I came back by taxi, they didn't open the door for me, but when my friends dropped me off, they were very enthusiastic, opened the car door, and greeted us!

GgadflyLocated in the heart of Box Hill, a major Chinese hub, communication in Mandarin is a breeze. Downstairs, you'll find a supermarket and restaurants, which is very convenient. The high-floor view is fantastic!
Parking spaces require advance booking at the front desk.
GGloryne VincyI recently stayed here for business trip, and I can’t say enough good things! The location is absolutely great for business. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

KKimT'was my third time here and they don't disappoint. Room is clean and sleek. Breakfast is good quality. Toiletries needs to be requested all the time- it's not always convenient especially that you need it daily and you stay for 2 weeks.

GGuest UserThe 1 bedroom hotel room was a great size. The kitchen had everything. The bathroom was good with all the necessary products. The king mattress was very comfortable. Thought it was odd no one made the bed each day and that we didn’t get a towel service each day. Good location, 10-15min from most things. Would recommend.
GGuest UserThe hotel is centrally located with a wide variety of food options nearby. There's a light rail station right outside, and it's very close to Chinatown. The hotel environment is great, and the rooms even have a kitchen, which is perfect for cooking. It's a fantastic spot for both travel and living. The downstairs restaurant offers many delicious and affordable snacks.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is super convenient! It's just a few minutes' walk to the free tram zone and the central train station, making it really easy to get to all the attractions. There are also tons of shops and restaurants nearby, so you'll find everything you need. The hotel breakfast was great too, with plenty of choices. I'd definitely stay here again next time.

JjulycallaWe live near the hotel ourselves, but our home was under renovation, so we booked a night here. The hotel is actually a mixed-use commercial/residential apartment building, located in the Box Hill Chinese area on Whitehorse Road. It's just a few minutes' walk from the train station, tram stop, and nearby shopping center parking. Our go-to cafe, Zero Mode, is right downstairs.
Similar to many business hotels in China, The Chen's rooms come with a mini-bar, kettle, teacups, tea bags, and instant coffee. What sets it apart are the additions of a sink, a toaster (common in most Australian hotels), a mini-fridge (larger than what you'd typically find in Chinese hotels), and an ironing board.
Drawbacks:
1. The bathroom is quite small. The glass shower door has a hole where the handle is, and there's no rubber seal between the two glass panels. You have to be very careful not to point the shower head towards the door when showering, otherwise, water will spill out.
2. The bedside table between the two beds is tiny and doesn't fit much.
Other notes:
1. The mattress is softer compared to hotels in China.
2. Like most international hotels, you have to pay to use the washing machine.
Overall, this hotel is decent and suitable for a short stay.
GGuest UserVery clean, nice renovated rooms with all amenities including microwave. Very comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of luggage space. Coffee/tea/sugar and biscuits. Each room has it's own designated parking. Reception woman was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be staying again soon
