Experience started badly at check-in when they refused to add my wife to the booking as Trip.com’s mobile “deal” was for one guest in room. Snarky reception person rude and borderline hostile - this was our third stay at this property and as in the past, we felt a subtle bias against us as non-Portuguese. The Front Desk Manager got involved and he refused to comp. me my wife’s addition to our room and said we had to pay euros 40 for her two day’s breakfasts. He appeared unkempt with s dirty shirt and was unshaven . His attitude was aggressive and disrespectful in the extreme. We asked to be relocated to a higher floor from the 2nd floor and he informed me that there were no sea view rooms on upper floors. This was patently a lie as the initial receptionist told me that the hotel was not fully booked.
While I was in discussions with the front desk receptionist, a hotel guest came up and complained that her room was bery hot. She was told by the same snarky receptionist that the aircon was off due to a system changeover and she should open her balcony door! When I asked the same question later on to another receptionist, he said that they could give me a fan. She was and English lady and when a Portuguese guest arrived to check/in, that dame clerk was all over him with handshakes all around. Other staff around the property didn’t seem overly friendly to guests as well.
It is unforgivable for any hotel, let alone a supposed 5 star property, not to have its HVAC system operable and even worse, not to advise guests of the issue.
Our room was spacious, if a little warm, but showed the ravages of time with chipped furniture and surfaces. Also, not too impressed by the powdered coffee presented in the room, or a euros 3 charged for a bucket of ice.
I cannot recommend this property for a stay in Portimao and there are a few other more undated hotels nearby.
Another great stay in Sagres. We love this hotel. It is our second stay here and will return. We had an apartment overlooking the pool and ocean. Great for watching the sunset. There was a kitchenette, a living room, balcony, bedroom with 2 twin beds and bathroom. It was perfect for us. Great value for the money.
Great location with a very nice hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The only downside is the fire door at the downstairs corridor entry which bang during the night. Otherwise this hotel is perfect.
Breakfast was also great with a fine choice.
Check was fast, friendly and efficient. Room was very good. Large bed, safe balcony, very clean, tea and coffee making facilities in the room.Rituals toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with good choices in all areas. Pool looked clean but didn't use it. Dinner menu had a good selection of dishes but again did not use.
Very close to the beach, about 5 minutes drive to the seaside and the central area, there is a supermarket nearby, the location is very convenient and quiet, the hotel facilities and services are very complete, recommend this place.
Once called the Alvor Luna Bay when bedrooms seemed larger!!! Renamed and reshaped. Swishly refurbed as new. Now the main problem is the lack of storage in what seem smaller bedrooms despite voluminous balconies. Simply, storage is inadequate for two guests for longer than a week, maximum. Let me describe............ a small [4feet tall?] open metal wardrobe rail with five fixed point clothes hangers. Four or five open shelves beside this rail., one occupied by the rooms safe. In all other respects its fine. The staff good and plentiful and helpful. The location the best in town!
I liked the accommodation, the size of the room, clean linen and towels, a large shower, good pressure of hot and cold water, music on TV, a large swimming pool. Breakfast is quite good, dinner too, no frills, but there is something to eat, there is fruit (pineapple, melon, watermelon and oranges), breakfast costs 7.5; dinner with a small bottle of wine cost me 25 euros. The reception staff is very attentive, they allowed me to change the date of breakfast and helped with the train schedule. The room was spacious and had a balcony.
This is a higher end hotel in Portimao. The room has a modern design. Huge amount of square footage, complete with a balcony. Asked for a room facing a quiet alleyway. First room was on the 5th floor, in the morning I was disturbed by housekeeping for the room above me, I can literally hear every sound. Called to change to a top floor room, after initially asking me to pay more for a top floor room, they eventually were able to secure one. Moved to that room and had mostly no issue with noise. I can still hear my next door neighbor when they move things around but not conversations. Breakfast was good, it doesn’t change much over the 3 days I’ve been there, but the spread is vast so you can always find something that ticks your fancy. Didn’t use hotel parking as it was the low season and street parking was abundant. Overall a good experience. Docked 1 star for the noise.
I can only say good things about the space. An apartment with living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. All rooms with considerable sizes. I really liked. Excellent quality-price ratio. for sure to repeat

WwanderwithanningOur stay at The Editory By The Sea Lagos was amazing!
✔️ Very clean and well-maintained
✔️ Spacious and comfortable rooms
✔️ Wide variety of breakfast choices
✔️ The sauna, indoor pool, and outdoor pool are definitely a must-try
✔️ Great location — close to the town centre and beach
✔️ Quiet, relaxing, and perfect for a chill getaway
One of the best places to stay in Lagos if you want a peaceful holiday while still being near everything. Would definitely stay here again.

YYaoThe best four-star hotel, I will go to portimao again because of this hotel, there is a very comfortable balcony, there is a swimming pool upstairs, the hotel also has a free shuttle bus to the beach, there is also a spa but you need to book in advance, the breakfast is also very rich and fresh. There is also a well-equipped gym, everything is very complete. It is also very close to the starting point of the pier to take a boat to see the caves and dolphins, just 3 minutes away. Great!
AAnonymous UserHotel is in perfect location within the historical site, the room is clean and comfy. Beautiful pool in the middle of the garden. Despite all ups, the downside was the service in general, however the reception was helpful when asked.
Tips:
Avoid staying the same floor as the reception because there is a staff room next to you, and the staff come to chitchat in the room and the hallway (the same hallway as guest doors, clearly echo).
Beware of hot food running out from breakfast way earlier than closing time, you cannot request those eggs, bacons, mushroom if it's runs out. even there are many guests coming in and was no hot food.
Like other comment says the hotel is full of potential and personally we think its a very peaceful & lovely place with historical charm. Just the frontline service staffs around the place still far from that so called well service.
House keeping were friendly and helpful, gardening maintained well.
Enjoyed the place and once learned to didnt expect any service, Its was the best way.
GGuest UserThis is by far the best hostel I stayed at, in spite of the number of occupants. I was lucky to have very quiet boys in the room. There’s only one bathroom, connected to the room, but it worked.
The hostel is new, modern and spotless.
The owner is very friendly.
The hostel is also 5 minutes walk from the beach.
It was perfect.
It’s a long walk to Albufeira from the city buses, and not very clear where the FlixBus stops. I wouldn’t recommend walking from the train station, which took me 4 hours. There’s a local bus, don’t scrimp = TAKE IT. Or take an Uber, or Bolt. Or ask the taxi what he wants to charge from the bus stop at the train station !
The RedeExpress is where the bus station is (but not for the FlixBus).
In summary, you can go to Albufeira by FlixBus, but it’s difficult to know where FlixBus leaves Albufeira from.
That all said, Albufeira is very difficult in high season, TOO CROWDED, but the Portuguese are tolerant and very patient because they know that tourism is lucrative and has raised the whole country out of poverty. Residents enjoy cheap and / or free public transport on local buses (cheap monthly passes).
Residents are respectful and kind.
You can practice your Portuguese with them for a laugh, but they all speak English to varying degrees.
Here you can meet real residents. On the beach, not necessarily in the pubs.
I loved it here. Don’t miss it.
GGuest UserThe hotel, cleanliness, decor, rooftop bar, breakfast, location, staff, and free access to the hammam, spa, and pool are all very good.
There are a few drawbacks, which is a bit of a shame. The hotel doesn't provide bathrobes or slippers. This is unfortunate, as you have to go down to the spa fully clothed and change in the changing rooms downstairs. I found the pool area a little neglected. The water was nice and warm, but the jacuzzi jets, hydrotherapy jets, and chromotherapy shower were under maintenance. The speakers above the pool were rusty, which made it look a bit neglected, which is a shame. On the other hand, the Turkish bath and sauna were very good.
NneffyHotel Aeromor is a really convenient hotel located on the FARO beach ***** .
A 6 minute taxi ride from the airport in a very beauitful location.
The check in experience was very pleasant and straight forward and the service was great.
The hotel do offer breakfast at a additional cost but you will not be disappointed .
The breakfast is a buffet breakfast and I enjoyed it very much as everything was delicious.
We booked a room with a lovely sea view ..
The room was very clean , the bed very comfortable and bathroom although very basic did the job.
You get a nice kettle and snack bits and it was really kond how they gave us a whole fruit bowl to devour .
The water pressure in the shower was surprisingly great and I love how they laid out the bathroom extras neatly .
Our room came with a balcony and it did not disappont.
Lovely views and it is really quiet at night.
On the last night we had some typical loud British tourist next door who really didn't take into account that people we're trying to sleep but the hotel staff sorted them put soon enough and told them to be quiet .
There is a resturant downstairs for lunch and dinner and love music which is there for you to enjoy.
The hotel is across the road from the beach
JJenA Cozy Getaway with a Few Quirks
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Block C in a wonderful location near the beach. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, as the bedroom was spacious and beautifully designed. However, there were a few quirks that left us slightly puzzled.
Locating the signage for the establishment proved to be a small challenge, but it added a sense of adventure to our experience.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room left something to be desired. It struggled to keep the temperature comfortably cool, and we often found ourselves feeling a bit hot. It would be great if this aspect could be improved to ensure a more comfortable stay.
Nevertheless, spending evenings on the balcony was a delightfully cozy and relaxed experience. The ambiance was inviting and lent itself to unwinding after a day of exploration. The surrounding garden and environment added to the overall charm, and we truly appreciated the pleasant surroundings.
I highly recommend visiting this place for a minimum stay of 2 to 3 days. Anything less would make the trip feel rushed, as there is so much to explore and enjoy. Despite the minor quirks, our overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have stayed here and would gladly return for another visit.
TTatsianaThe hotel is just 14 mins walking from the beach. The room was big and very clean. Breakfast is simple but you can find everything. There is sauna and gym, free parking.
