Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city! Balai Balatong is located inside a barangay and has kubo/hut theme with a touch of modern elegance. The rooms are well designed and are really clean. We were lucky to book the place for our own on that day as it is a weekday for a very inexpensive price. We got the pool and entire place literally for our own for a day which is great! It could be priced double or triple for its current state of the rooms. As the place is relatively new, just opened last 2024, there is no in house reception available. Works like an airbnb. No in house-resto yet. These two might be the reasons why they are holding on to pricing the rooms higher. Would have given them a perfect rating if these are available. There is a good restaurant though just in front of the place called Pha Ramen which is an aesthetically good restaurant serving good Pinoy dishes (and accepts credit cards). Staffs are friendly and accommodating. We had an early flight the next day and they were able to arrange for our transfer to the airport. We will surely come back!

A great place to stay with complimentary breakfast and access to a swimming pool. The price is affordable and suitable for a group of four. The hotel is conveniently located near SM Laoag and other establishments. However, the linens and blankets are quite thin and appear worn out. Free Wi-Fi is available, but the internet connection is slow.

GGuest UserGood -Park like setting, pet friendly, many nice pools to use. Couple villa has own little pool surrounded by plants for privacy. Air-conditioned room. Warm shower water, local drinking water provided. Eating area inside room, ref and sink. Gated entry with gate guard. Provided breakfast, portions are local but quite filling. Plenty of onsite parking (watch out for coconuts above car). Golf cart with driver available but the walk is really short and mostly flat. Toothbrush and amenities provided. Ants and bugs are typical so not an issue (bug spray recommended for foreigners). Employees welcoming and very responsive and well groomed. Room service (took for all meals). Bad -lack of food menu in room with room service offered, housekeeping called Butler but not. Provided cell phone with load, load expired initially. Updates every 6 hours to phone via text message. 80% of time housekeeping could not be reached. Menu once either found on web site or brought to door many things not available and size of portion not clear. Food cold sometimes upon delivery and or not taste very good, food service is slow. Bar soap provided is nice but small (cut down from a larger bar). A bit of a drive to anything else nearby and not much else found to do here. Ugly -Breakfast order lost on last day to check out, was placed 6PM in person at door night before. If had not called would not have been provided (since we had pet with us, opted for room service) Housekeeping light not working at front door to make up room. Ref compressor noise. Sometimes arcing / hum noise coming from electrical panel. Expectation of vacationer not in alignment with profit margin site manager is attempting to generate from each stay. You are left with a feeling of overpaying for a level of service that was lacking and this felt in relation to how the business just seems to be run. Arrival was overwhelming (good) but departure needs improvement.

GGuest UserIt was a nice stay. Location is fabulous, basically everything in walking distance. The room was clean, but you will only have a thin sheet to cover yourself. The weather is hot and you only need to adjust the AC temperature to your liking, so it works. Maybe they can provide more for you to cover, but I am very used to backpacking so I have things with me and didn’t bother to ask. There was only lukewarm water in my room. No hot shower but again, it’s hot and that works. Towels and all, you will have to prepare yourself. You get what you pay for with this price. If you use to backpack and want to save money, this place is great. But if you expect for a normal hotel service, then you should choose another place. As others say, this place is mainly run by persons with disabilities, which I personally think it’s a great thing and they earn with their livelihood! They speak good English and very very accommodating! They helped me to make phone calls to enquire the bus schedule, and let me check in right away when i reached there at 5am by an overnight bus. My booking started from that night and i was thinking to leave my suitcase there first and came back in the afternoon. But they gave me the room right away, so I could also sleep a few hours before starting my day. Truly appreciated and highly recommend to experienced backpackers.

Llilac is awesomeIt was a good stay. Excellent. Only that their television has a bad reception. But an any rate, one wouldn't be staying in the room for too long instead stay on the swimming pool (which is clean and has different depths) and the nearby beach for sunset and sunrise walk. The breakfast buffet was filling and well managed.

AAnonymous UserDecided to try Chalaroste despite the comments wherein the bathroom stinks, daming langaw, sira lock ng door, etc. and it was not a regret that we booked this resort because it was amaaaazing! we availed the standard room. It has tv, mini ref, toiletries (towels, tissues, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes & toothpaste), water heater since may coffee and creamer provided, bottled water. lahat yan is good for 2 na. mabango rin ung cr sa loob ng room, no issues at all. May wifi rin! Complete na rin sa common kitchen, no worries na mag aagawan since they provided lots of plates kalderos and the like, lulutuin na lang dalhin. Mabato ung beach but the infinity pool did not disappoint! Ang ganda lalo na sa gabi. May signage na u can use the pool until 9 or 10 pm yata but the staff let us swim there until 1 am. There are tables near the pool which overlooks the beach na maganda mag chill! Pet friendly also ❤️ Overall, I loved the place! It felt like the price was too cheap for such a resort that has a complete amenities. Literal na sarili mo na lang at pagkain dalhin mo.

CCai SalvadorWe were there during the introductory price, but we weren't expecting that there are still construction going on. It wasn't totally bad, but the fact that there are a lot of construction men present while we were in the pool was a bit off. Overall, our experience was great! The service was good, they were quick to respond when we needed some things, and the staff were all approachable and friendly. One downside, though, is their restaurant - expensive! We would definitely come back and recommend Hudor to our friends and family.
