As we didn't know this on our first night, they drove us to Lawson's convenience store to buy food as no restaurants in the area were open after 5pm. There was a lot of choice there and the hotel staff heated our food up when we got back. The onsens were lovely. Both an inside and outdoor bath available with lovely skin products available for use.

Though simple butt can defining fill up your stomach if you are not a big eater.

The car navigation took the car to the location of the store, and it took a long time to get to the lobby. The car was parked in the open-air space at the entrance of the street, 400 yen per day. The room has two beds, clean and comfortable, with free drinks in the lobby, and a buffet in the morning and evening , simple and full, this price is great value. 10 minutes walk nearby is Mian Wang, where you can eat ramen.

I made a reservation because I wanted to stay the night after the drinking party. The room on the first floor was clean and comfortable. I was disappointed that I only used the sauna in the large public bath in the morning, but the sauna was large and comfortable. Japanese people may really like to soak in hot springs. All the better hotels in Iya were full, but this one had good service. I would also like to praise Ctrip. The staff was very nice and helpfull. With a bit of help from our phones we could communicate that which we did not understand in Japanese and/or English. They pointed out sights to see in the area and lend a flashlight to walk to the bridge at night.

The room was perfectly adequate for the time we were there but I suggest that the bedding could be updated with a more modern duvet. Japanese breakfast was provided but it was identical for the three days we were there - some variety would have been appreciated. A basic English breakfast of toast, jam and fruit could have been offered catering more to the taste of foreign tourists. The reception team were very helpful with translations on their phone. The flight of stairs with a suitcase was somewhat daunting!
