I had previously emailed them requesting a room with a good view, and indeed, the hotel assigned me a high-floor room directly facing the Parliament building. The transportation is very convenient; there's a taxi stand right outside, and the metro station is only a few hundred meters away, making it easy to get anywhere. However, European hotels are generally quite small. If you don't have high expectations, it's certainly acceptable, though the hygiene was a bit subpar – there was a spider that seemed to have been living there for quite some time.
Location was very good, 5 minutes walk from the main station. M2 and M4 is 1 minute away.
Room is very clean and spacious. Room cleaning is don't every day as well. Only in the last day the towels were messy and now properly placed.
Great Property. I liked the room, very spacy and it has a desk. Clean and quiet too. Breakfast was nice and it's in a great location. Supermarket, metro, tram, bus directly outside the building.
Only thing that could be improved is the gym, it's mostly cardio. But you can go to ”4% Candy gym” next door, it's good and they have daypass for a reasonable price.
The hotel was well positioned close to St Stephen’s Basilica, with all local amenities on the doorstep including a Lidl supermarket around the corner, plus restaurants and bars in short walking distance. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were basic and even double beds were actually two single beds together but reasonably comfortable, the rooms were also pretty compact with an open plan bathroom with a curtain. For our weekend away it was fine and for me personally I got it at a reduced price booking last minute but others paid a lot more, so for similar price I would personally prefer some of the 4 star hotels located closed by. The breakfast was included which is a bonus, and had a selection of hot/cold food/drinks, served until 10.30am, and you can order a packed breakfast, it was basic but something for everyone. Also there is scaffolding outside of the hotel, so may not be as easy to see the name for when you first arrive.
I had an excellent stay in this hotel, is very well located. The room was extremely comfortable. Had an issue with the Safe and the TV and both were promptly addressed and solved. Also the breakfast with great variety and in reasonable hours.
This is one of my favorite places to stay at! The location, though it looks a little further off the center compared to others, is actually very well placed - it's easy to walk to main attractions, or you can take the metro very easily. The facilities are clean, constantly updated, and the staff are wonderful. Plus there are events nearly everyday that let you get to know other travellers. Perfect for a solo stay!
The scenery is excellent, the environment is very feel, the location is very close to the main scenic area, the facilities are average but acceptable, the counter attendants are courteous and courteous, and willing to lend the kettle and microwave for guests to use.
Very convenient location in the centre. Property is using smart check-in system, so you get the key in advance, but there is also a reception desk for the less tech-savy guests.
Apartment is clean, quiet, only downside is the internet connection which is not very stable, but it's still okay.
This hotel was clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had lunch at The River Bar which was reasonably priced and the food was good, / We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
The room was clean, slightly dated but had everything you needed. The Spa was clean, would recommend to bring sliders/crocs as the floor in the swimming pool area was very slippy, although the hotel does provide a robe and slippers. One of the saunas was out of action but they had other ones available to use. In terms of location it is slightly out of the way, which was nice as it was quiet. We got a taxi and used the tram to get to the city centre which was fairly simple.
Overall very good value to stay here and very good that the spa facilities is included at no extra fee.
I would recommend!
Many Thanks :)
The hotel boasts a prime location, just about 400 meters from both the metro and bus stops. The rooms are quite small, certainly compact. Conveniently situated in Buda, it's a short distance from Fisherman's Bastion and the Castle.

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
AAnnKooGood location for connection to airport or train station Keleti. The central market and the Liberty bridge is only 3 minutes walk away. Very convenient to explore Budapest with the tranport pass. Lots of eateries nearby.
Room is very clean and tidy and the staffs are all polite ànd easily approachable. We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay with the delicious breakfast.

AAnonymous UserCarlton Hotel Buda Castle - A Location Lover's Dream!
My recent stay at the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle in Budapest was largely defined by its absolutely awesome location. For anyone looking to immerse themselves in the historical heart of the city, this hotel is a fantastic choice.
Being just minutes away from both the majestic Buda Castle and the picturesque Fisherman’s Bastion was a huge plus. I particularly appreciated the convenience for early risers – those who wish to view the stunning sunrise and enjoy the area before the crowds arrive (potentially with free entrance before official opening hours) will find this hotel incredibly convenient, as it's just a short stroll away.
Furthermore, the hotel's location also allows for a pleasant walk to the viewing area across the river from the Parliament building. Seeing the illuminated Parliament at night from the opposite bank was a memorable experience, and it was easily accessible on foot from the hotel.
The room itself was cozy and comfortable, providing a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.
However, there was one notable downside: the soundproofing could be improved. I occasionally heard noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which sometimes disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.
Overall:
Despite the minor issue with soundproofing, I would still highly recommend the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle, especially for travelers who prioritize location above all else. Its proximity to key attractions like Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion, along with the easy access to sunrise views and the Parliament panorama, makes it a truly convenient base for exploring the best of Buda. If you're a light sleeper, bringing earplugs might be a good idea, but the unbeatable location truly makes this hotel a strong contender for your Budapest stay.
AAnonymous UserStayed here for a layover. The airport shuttle service was super smooth. The front desk staff was incredibly cheerful, even dancing when there were no guests, haha.
The room I got was on the first floor, perfectly fine for a one-night stay, and quite spacious too.
Ordered a burger from the hotel in the evening; it was huge, though the taste was just okay – basically just filled me up.
Breakfast was available, and quite a few people were eating; it was mostly basic Western fare.
For 600+ RMB, I personally felt the value for money was just average, but you really can't find anything better near Budapest Airport.
GGuest UserReading the reviews, overall I was expecting worse. The room was a little dated but clean, the bathroom ditto. Clean sheets and towels. On the other hand, the pillows offered are really uncomfortable, the mini bar is not working and the breakfast is very poor and without a sweet proposal: I went on for three days on bread, butter and jam. The staff were friendly enough and the location was excellent for getting to the center by public transport.

LLEI CHI IOThe rooms were fine, but the service in the restaurant was perhaps some cultural shock for us. Only one person was set to take orders and when we wanted to place a second order, that person just ignored us however we hand signaled him. We were not sure if second order was not welcomed or if there were some other reasons. We had some problem paying with a credit card (we didn’t know that card couldn’t be used at that time) and we had to try with two other cards, but that person showed us he was not pleased by throwing the card machine down to the table.
GGuest UserThe hotel was located at some distance away from the city centre. Nevertheless, travelling to the city centre was quite convenient as we could take the tram for one stop and then the metro for four to five stops. The room was clean and was quite spacious.
MMirabdulOur recent stay at the Pullman Budapest was largely positive, though with a couple of minor hiccups. Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the fantastic service and the hotel's unexpected kindness in upgrading our room.
The room itself was quite stylish and comfortable, featuring a clean, minimalist aesthetic with a large, inviting bed and crisp white linens, as seen in the photo. The artistic wall mural behind the bed added a unique touch of warmth and color to the space. The bathroom, which appears to be integrated into the room's design, was modern and well-appointed with a sleek sink and ample towel storage.
However, our initial experience was marred by a blocked sink in our upgraded room, which, while frustrating, was resolved within two days. Another somewhat unusual incident occurred late one night when we requested a refill for our water bottles; we were asked to bring the bottles down to the reception for refilling, which felt a bit unconventional for a hotel of this caliber.
Despite these minor issues, the Pullman Budapest proved to be a decent hotel, offering good service and comfortable accommodations.
