Zhangjiajie National Forest Park/Wulingyuan
The room is clean and the hotel atmosphere is really nice and peaceful. Hotel picked us up from the train station and also dropped us which is very nice. All the staffs are very nice and helped us in every way they could. They also helped us bought tickets for the national park and dropped us off and picked us up when we were done. The hotel restaurant is unbelievably cheap and tasty. The dogs are super cute and friendly. They have some activities for guests to do if we are interested. The hotel is not so far from the east gate but since they are dopping/picking us up it doesn’t really matter. They are currently building something more on top of the mountain when they are done it would be amazing to come and stay here again 🤗 P.s. they have various type of breakfast including noodles I was mindblowed.

Just completed our 4-day, 3-night trip to the magnificent Zhangjiajie, staying at the equally—if not more—beautiful and serene Zhangjiajie Celestial Valley Minsu. Without the crowds, this place truly feels like a hidden gem. Of all the accommodations we stayed at during our first trip to China, Celestial Valley felt more like a home, nestled in a location with out-of-this-world scenery. After spending a full day in the bustling Zhangjiajie National Park, returning here to enjoy an outdoor dinner with breathtaking views—followed by a “celestial wonder” of millions of stars—was an unbelievably magnificent experience. From our 4 days with driver Mr. 孫, to the warm hospitality of front desk staff 小蔣 and 小范, and the kind assistance of 小鄭, everyone treated us like family. They arranged every detail of our trip, ensuring we made the most of our short stay in Zhangjiajie. From booking tickets in advance (so we didn’t have to fight the crowds), to planning our meals, and providing detailed information about the best spots in the National Park, Grand Canyon, and Tianmen Mountain, we felt utterly pampered. Leaving Zhangjiajie—and especially our “new family”—was the hardest part. Our spacious, fully equipped, and spotlessly clean room offered a magnificent panoramic view of the gorgeous mountains. Outside, there were plenty of seating areas to enjoy their organic farms, vibrant flowers, and blossoming trees. Oh, and I must mention the cutest dogs and cats who greeted us daily—they added such charm to our stay! It was so hard to leave, and we’re already counting the days until we can return. Next time, we’ll stay longer—please save our room for us!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. I couldn't be happier with our experience! The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in early at around 7 AM, which was a huge relief since regular check-in isn't until 2 PM. They had a room available, and we were pleasantly surprised at how welcoming the staff. The room itself was spacious, bright and clean featuring a large window that offered stunning views of the city. The location was convenient, close to public transport and taking taxi is cheaper going to train stations and cableway. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with friendly service!

We had a very nice stay, we stayed 3 people in one room. The room we stayed in was very big and had its own unique style. It was very clean. The hotel is very close to the South Gate of the park. It's a little hidden away from the road, but they were very quick to come and pick us up and drove us to the park entrance every day free of charge. Breakfast eggs come from free range chicken on the ground and they were excellent. Over all the food was very good. It's a small hotel run by a family and they are all very nice and helpful with planning your stay. Location is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wu Yi Square/IFS
No complaints. The room was pretty compact, but I can't say I didn't have enough space. The layout makes it work. The bathroom is a tight fit, though. Didn't really make use of the hotel's amenities, but I checked them out, and they seemed to be as advertised. The location was pretty good; not super close to anything, but also not particularly far. Staff are welcoming and enthusiastic. Honestly, at the price point, it's actually a bit of a steal.
Tuwang Palace Babutang (Furongzhen Waterfall Branch)

Furong Ancient Town
Unless your absolutely want the waterfall view in your room, not really worth 200$ cad. Hotel is at the end of a commercial street, so your luggage wheels need to be sturdy. Be ready to bring it down a couple of flights of stairs as well. The room is on the smaller side with a pretty typical hard mattress (even king size). The balcony door is just a slab of wood with not much insulation, so the humidity and loud noise come in quite easily. Breakfast is average with local food served on the second floor (reception is fourth) outside.
Xiangxi Grand Hotel

We stayed at a highly rated hotel we found on Ctrip, just a few minutes’ walk from the ancient town. The shuttle bus stop was right at the hotel entrance, which was super convenient. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming, and we even had butler service—the butler was really friendly and polite. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel had everything we needed, like foot massages, a gym, a supermarket, and plenty of parking. The housekeeping staff on our floor were very polite and helpful. Our room was big, clean, and cozy, with super comfy bedding—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The area around the hotel was great, with lots of places to eat and shop. It was only a short walk to the ancient town and Hongqiao Bridge. The walk there was lovely, and the night views were amazing. The whole vibe of the place was so charming we didn’t want to leave. When we checked out, the butler even gave us a little local gift, which was such a nice surprise. The staff really went above and beyond to make us feel special. The people in Fenghuang are so kind and genuine. We’ll definitely come back with friends next time. Highly recommend the Xiangxi Grand Hotel!

Reach ZJJ west station via the high speed rail from Changsha.  After Existing the station, keep left to the Bus Station to WuLingYuan. Need to tell the staff there so they will ask the bus to detour into the station to pick ups up. Cost 13RMB per trip. Tell the Bus driver u going to East Gate, Dong Meng. You will alight after the round about along WuLing Road. From there it's just a 5 mins walk to the hotel. Greeted by Mr Yang. the owner of the hotel. I reached the hotel early at 10am, Mr Yang is nice enough to prep the room early and let me check-in. He orientated me to the surrounding and suggest my route to tour the national park. I was staying there for 3 nights. So i bought the 4 days entry ticket + unlimited Cable Cars(3 routes) & BaiLong lift ride. Very worth it if you are staying there for 4 days. Mr Yang helped me to purchase the ticket at a discount price (488RMB). Totally enjoyed the walk, hike, climb, cable car rides & lift rides as it's a low tourist season. But I make an effort to wake yp early and take the first scenic shuttle bus to the locations. The East Gate opens at 7am in the morning, closed at abt 730pm. The East Gate where the WuLingMeng landmark building is, is where all the shuttle buses will depart to the different locations, eg, to TianZhiShan, BaiLong Elevator or Ten Miles gallery. I will usually Didi to and back from the East gate to the hotel, cost abt 6-8RMB. Walking is about 1.5km. 15mins. I skip the Grand Canyon as I think it's abit overpriced and not very scenic. After the stay, I took the same public bus to ZJJ city for TianZhiShan. The pickup location for the public bus is at the same round abt, just wave at the blue bus with the label to ZJJ. Price is also 13rmb and can be paid onboard via WeChat pay.  My Yang help me to buy the mountain ticket in advance as its always crowded there. I paid 238rmb for Route 2 ticket which is taking the bus up the mountain and cable car back to the city. It was super nice up in the mountain and the cable car ride was a superb experience. If you need more info can email me @ *****************. Can share more with u solo traveler. Additional Info: The location of the hotel is the best I feel, there are many shops and eatery. Do not stay at the west gate area of WuLingYuan, it's very inconvenient there. The room of the hotel is super big and clean. Bed is VERY comfortable. You have everything you need in the room. Mr Yang will often make me Chinese tea and chit chat. Very friendly and humble boss. Will definitely come back and stay in his hotel again.

The chair in the room is as shown in the picture. The hair dryer is bad. It can’t be blown after just 2 minutes. There is also a burning smell. Then I immediately called the front desk and replied that it was because it was too hot for a long time. I can blow it. After a while, my hair is very uncomfortable. I went to the room being cleaned next door to borrow the blowing wind. Thank you for cleaning the aunt. The breakfast coffee is like drinking the perfect cup with someone else and adding hot water to the cup, which is more water than Kurdi's American.
Harmona Resort & Spa Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park/Wulingyuan
Our holidaying at Zhangjiajie was memorable not just because of the most astounding natural beauty of the place but also because of one of the most memorable experiences at the hotel we stayed in: ‘Harmona Resort and Spa’. The warm and friendly staff here created a very welcoming atmosphere.  We experienced excellent customer service with friendly and approachable attitude displayed by every member of the staff. They had the ability  to anticipate needs of guests and respond promptly. Though we did not know Mandarin, we never felt isolated because of the extra length the staff went to translate using technology.  The staff also handled specific requests quickly and were excellent in resolving issues. We had problem with our electrical plugs and adapters. Cherry from the Front Desk patiently spent hours and found a solution that allowed us to charge all our electronics on the local system.   The staff particularly at the restaurants displayed cultural awareness and showed sensitivity  to our vegetarian meal requests.  Special mention must be made of Front Desk Staff particularly Cherry who positively responded instantaneously to any of our requests.     Housekeeping Staff also responded immediately to our request for sorting out the WiFi issue.     I and my wife would like to specially thank Hq Du, an extremely pleasant and helpful lady at the restaurant where we had our daily breakfast. Donghua and Fang ant this place  also went out of the way to make the daily breakfast an experience to remember. All the three anticipated our needs and were always friendly and cheerful. They walk the talk in customer service. When my wife did not go for buffet breakfast as she was working out, they insisted on packing the breakfast for her.  Also, on the day we were leaving, they packed take away food for the road. This was highly thoughtful of them.  We would also like to thank Roland, Yuan Quioyun and Lora from the Chinese restaurant, who prepared for us off-the-menu Chinese vegetarian dishes which proved to be very delicious. Overall, we had an incredibly lovely experience at this resort and would strongly recommend visitors to Zhangjiajie to stay at this place.  - **Feedback Mechanisms**   - Encourage staff to share experiences and feedback for continuous improvement. - **Recognition Programs**   - Acknowledge and reward exceptional service to motivate staff.
