Zhuhua Tower (also known as Hengshi Tower) was first built in the Tang Dynasty. The tower was destroyed in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the 29th year of the Jiaqing period of the Ming Dynasty (1550 AD). It was renovated in 1984 and fully repaired in 2014. The tower is located in the southwest of the county, and the southwest is called "Zhu" and is close to the residence of Taihua, so it is named Zhuhua. The hill where the tower is located is called Hengshi, so it is also called Hengshi Tower. The tower has two doors, north and south. The plaque on the north door reads "Hengshi Pagoda" and the plaque on the south door reads "Zhuhua Pagoda". It was built by Zeng Wentan, the first-generation disciple of Yang Yunsong in the Tang Dynasty, to protect the feng shui of the city. The tower is a pavilion-style brick tower with a folded wall, seven levels, and eight sides. The plane is octagonal, with a total height of 25 meters. The base is made of red stone. The bottom floor is octagonal with a diameter of 6.05 meters and a side length of 2.3 meters. The seventh floor has a side length of 1.9 meters and a diameter of 4.95 meters. The height of the tower decreases from bottom to top. The central pillar of Zhuhua Tower is square with a side length of 0.75 meters. The square central pillar is rare in China and is the main feature of the tower. Mr. Zhang Shixiang, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Materials, pointed out during his field investigation that "the square central pillar is unique to the tower and has certain value for the study of architectural history." It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province.
