Tokyo Nostalgia Tour|Around Sangenjaya

☕ Blue Bottle Coffee Sangenjaya 📍 Location 1-33-18 Sangenjaya, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo This store was converted from a 50-year-old clinic. The retro-style architecture and the minimalist style of Blue Bottle are perfectly integrated, giving it a very local feel. ⸻ 🚃 Transportation (from Shinjuku) 1. Shinjuku Station → Shibuya Station: Take the JR Yamanote Line, about 7 minutes 2. Shibuya Station → Sangenjaya Station: Transfer to Tokyu Denentoshi Line, about 7 minutes 3. Walk to the coffee shop: Exit from the South Exit A and walk for about 3 minutes ⸻ 📝 Personal experience The Blue Bottle at Sangenjaya is a shop with a lot of character, and it feels quite different from the Blue Bottles I’ve had in other places in Japan. This place is warmer and more "local", a bit like a secret base in the community. I ordered a classic single-origin brew that day, paired with a piece of quiche. Sitting by the window, the sunlight slowly pours in. That moment is very rare - I feel like I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere and just want to sit there and daydream for the whole afternoon. The store is not noisy, everyone is doing their own things quietly, it's very comfortable. ⸻ 🗼 Carrot Tower Observation Deck 📍 Location 4-1-1 Taishido, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo (Carrot Tower 26th floor) ⸻ 🚶♂️ Transportation (from Blue Bottle Coffee) It's just a 1 minute walk from the coffee shop, diagonally opposite. Very convenient, almost no need to check the map. ⸻ 📝 Personal experience The name Carrot Tower sounds cute. In fact, this building is a local municipal and commercial complex. The point is - the observation deck on the 26th floor is completely free! Take the elevator straight up and you can see the entire Setagaya, and if you are lucky you can even see Mount Fuji in the distance. I went there in the evening. The setting sun dyed the entire sky red, and with the silhouette of the city in the distance, I felt like I had accidentally walked into a movie scene. This place is not as touristy as other observatories in Tokyo. Instead, it is a place where many couples and locals come to date, take a walk, and eat. There is also a restaurant upstairs, if you want to sit down and dine while watching the night view. #AprilDestinations2025 #JapanTravel
