Gotokuji Temple

If you love cute things, Gotokuji Temple is a dream come true—it's filled with thousands of maneki-neko (lucky cat) statues! The temple is said to be the birthplace of the famous waving cat, and seeing all the little white cats lined up was surreal and adorable. I bought a small maneki-neko as a souvenir and wrote my wish on it before placing it with the others. The temple itself is peaceful, with beautiful wooden architecture and a quiet garden. It's not crowded at all, which made it feel extra special. I loved the little pathways and the sound of wind chimes—it was so calming. The area around the temple is also really charming, with small cafés and local shops. It's a bit out of the way, but if you're a cat lover or want to visit a unique temple in Tokyo, this place is absolutely worth it!
