Each Ichiban Boshi restaurant is unique, with each offering a different ambience and specialty menu. The specialty at Novena Square is Sakana (Fresh Fish) and hence the term on their signboard. For our visit, we ordered two hearty meals : - A Salmon Teriyaki Bento Set with Add Ons Comes with addons of Ebi Tempura, Chawanmushi, Unagi, Salmon Sashimi and served with Miso Soup, Japanese Rice and Orange slices. The grilled teriyaki salmon fillet was sweet and tender and the grilled unagi was perfectly caramelized and the smoky aroma enhanced the taste further. The chawamushi was simply nice and eggy. Dip the crispy tempura in the dipping sauce and eat omg .... superb ! - Wafu 3 Kinds Grill Steak with Add Ons Comes with a sizzling pot/pan of premium beef slices, beef chunks and pork patty, chicken, shimeiji mushrooms and vegetables/onion/corn in ginger sauce. Served with Japanese Rice, Goyza, Salad, Chawanmushi, Miso Soup and Konnyaku Jelly. Overall a very satisfying and complete meal. We also took the liberty to order the freeflow iced green tea so that we can have a drink while chit chat post meal. Truly an enjoyable meal and we hope to patronize this outlet again.
