An extremely popular tapas restaurant among the local

#celebrateit A visit to Spain is bound to be incomplete without a down-to-earth experience to a local tapas restaurant in the evening—and often it means sharing tables! This was a highly popular tapas place among the locals. Hotel reception told me about it, and it’s evident from the fact that they had almost no English menu available. The only one was pasted on the main door, and it’s small and blur in handwriting that even taking a photo with your phone wouldn’t help. I ordered four items: 1) baby eels on potatoes, 2) salmorejo on cod; 3) spinach chickpea stew; 4) large sardine. I personally found them rather bland though, except the chickpea stew. And the American couples in front of me had very similar views: they even shared with me their food to ask for my honest opinion. Most of the tapas are around 5€ regardless of the actual portion. To me, personal taste aside, price performance ratio was not high either. But if you wanna experience it like a local, that’s probably the price to pay.
