[Osaka Prefecture/Tanekashisha] A shrine that bestows seeds

Tanekarisha is one of the subordinate shrines of Sumiyoshi Taisha. Originally called Tamejinja, it was believed that people would be granted rice seeds and pray for a good harvest. As a result, the shrine's blessings are fundraising, fertility, and wisdom. This place is also the birthplace of Issunboshi. The temizuya (purification fountain) features Issunboshi sitting on a bowl. There is also a larger bowl that you can enter! According to the Otogi Zoushi story, Issunboshi was born as a result of prayers to Sumiyoshi Daimyojin. For this reason, the offering box has the words "ichi-gō-manbai" (one grain, one thousand times more) engraved on it.
