The Three Peaks of Filial Son Mountain, Loving Mother Peak, and Putuo Mountain are easy to hike.

In addition to releasing sky lanterns for blessings, Pingxi in New Taipei City is surrounded by three famous mountains - Filial Son Mountain, Loving Mother Peak, and Putuo Mountain, which attract many hikers. The three mountains stand tall and sharp, giving a feeling of climbing the strange peaks of Huangshan in China! Although the terrain is not as high as other mountains, most of the route follows ancient stone steps. The steps can be a bit slippery, so extra caution is needed. The steep and hard rock ridges have man-made stone steps, ropes, and iron railings, making the difficulty relatively low and suitable for all ages. Except for a short section of suspended steel stairs to the top of Filial Son Mountain (which can be skipped if you are afraid of heights), the summit offers a bird's-eye view of the entire Keelung River Valley. Due to the surrounding peaks, there are more than 20 peaks in total, hence it is called the Twenty-Four Filial Mountains. Because the mountain shape is similar to Huangshan in mainland China, Filial Son Mountain is also known as the 'Little Huangshan.'
