Wat Chang Kham: A Historic Temple in Nan

Located in the heart of Nan city, opposite the Nan National Museum, this ancient royal temple has been a significant part of Nan for over 600 years. Built in 1406 AD, the temple features a beautiful golden stupa surrounded by half-body elephant statues, which serve as the base of the stupa, giving it its name. Inside the ordination hall, you'll find a large Buddha statue and several spots for making merit. People often come here to pray for good fortune. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and decorations. The spacious grounds outside the ordination hall are shaded by trees, making it a serene place to visit. This is a must-visit temple in Nan, and we highly recommend coming here at least once.
